Magazine excerpts, comic books, and book excerpts on this site are made
available in PDF and CBZ formats.
PDF stands for Portable Document Format. It was created by Adobe and is a very
common format for sharing documents. Adobe Acrobat Reader is one of the most
common PDF viewers. Versions exist for most desktop and laptop systems, as well
as for tablets and smartphones. You can download Adobe Acrobat Reader for free
from the Adobe website. Most modern
systems will already have a PDF reader of some sort installed.
CBZ files are Zip files containing JPEG, PNG, or GIF images. (CBR files are
the same thing, but Rar files.) There are numerous CBZ readers out for there
for computers, tablets, and phones, or you can just unzip the file and view
the images with your favorite image viewer. For Windows and Android, I recommend CDisplayEx. Another Android offering is
Perfect Viewer,
but there are numerous apps available for both Android and iOS.
Most of the scans supplied here in PDF and CBZ formats are 300-DPI images.
