To prove to Fox executives that a movie about talking apes would succeed, a
test reel was shot starring Edward G. Robinson as Zaius, James Brolin as
Cornelius, Linda Harrison as Zira, and Charlton Heston as Thomas. These images
show the test ape makeups, as well was other early designs.
