Dave's notes:
I purchased this kit around 20 years ago, during my first ever visit to New York,
from a store that went by the name of Village Comics. Deadeye was originally
sculpted posing over the corpse of a recently killed human, but it was only
after returning home to London that I realised the base was missing. No problem... I
just scratch-built something functional. I never cared for the sculpted rifle,
so replaced that with a classic 30th-century movie rifle made from modellers
putty.
I took a few liberties with the colours, as often what works well on the big
screen can look dark and murky in miniature, hence the reddish-brown fur.
An out-of-the-box build (not mine) is shown for comparison.
