That's really low Ken - take it back! Poor old Alex is still reading these
postings and I'm sure he feels like everyone is laughing at him.....because
they are.....hey, did young Joe defect too?
"The Time Tunnel...is it just me or does that show feel like it runs for two
hours each episode?"
No it isn't just you - that show sucked ass.
"The movie could have been over in like 20 minutes!"
What, instead of 2 sequels later? I think you answered your own question
there.

1. Taylor's ship leaves Earth.
2. Taylor's ship crashlands on

3. Taylor's ship sinks, is repaired, blasts off from Earth, with

4. Taylor's ship, with

Traveling forward in time is relatively easy compared to traveling
back. Go into stasis, travel towards the sun ant speeds
approaching the speed of light and there you are. But back is a
different story. The literary device of Earth's destruction
jumping them back is as good as any. But, if you talk to the
Quantum physics guys, they'll tell you if you did, you may be back in
time, but you'd be in a parallel universe. So, there's no way
there could be any Grandfather Paradoxes or anything. The players
may look the same but it's a whole new ball game. Even if you
didn't change anything. Just being there to observe it changes it.
There's no avoiding it.
Exactly, T!
This is all I'm really trying to say: The apes going back in
time to 1973 would change what comes later, and Zira and Cornelius can't be
there own ancesters because they had to born out of a world that had already
become a planet of the apes.
D'oooooh!!!
I can't think about
this anymore!

No it isn't just you - that show sucked ass. >>
Then you'll be pleased with this tidbit I got today from ZENtertainmnent:
"TIME TUNNEL Remake In The Works
VARIETY reports screenwriter Rand Ravich (The Astronaut's Wife) and director
Todd Holland (Malcolm in the Middle) are developing an updated version of the
1966 sci-fi
series THE TIME TUNNEL for REGENCY TV and 20th CENTURY FOX Television. ABC
and FOX are in talks to acquire the show, which will revolve around two young
scientists working on a secret government project that allows them to travel
through time."
Not that I really care (I've never seen the show), but I felt compelled to
pass this on.

Star Trek uses the "device" of the warp engines. Matter and anti-mater are mixed to create a controlled implosion that creates the warp core, which in turn creates a magnetic field around the ship that's so strong it "warps" the space around it. Thus the ship can then slice through space at speeds faster than light.
Fantasy, I think.

sounding condescending) 'translate' to U.S audiences. The main subject of the
movie is VERY Australian, but not in a cute, fish-out-of-water Croc Dundee way.
I think it's being released on DVD in the states in Dec.
The film's star, Eric Bana has apparently signed on to play Bruce Banner in
Universal's Incredible Hulk movie.

Have you seen the new SW DVD yet Jeff?
Pretty cool huh?
I loved the scene from the making of episode one, when Lucus knew
he had a bomb on his hands when seeing the rough cut. That is the most true
to life documentary I've ever seen.
The preview room was in silent shock. WOW!
As for Lord of the Rings, they better hope that first one is good, if not,
they're looking at parts 2 and 3 on DVD months after the first film
release.
A very bold move filming all three without a clue as to how people
will react to the first. (it better be made well)
P.S. This is the Star Wars egroup isn't it?
Opps, my mistake.

Hey, Al. I don't know what your e-mail
address is and I can't access it from the site. The Ep One DVD is excellent.
Whether you like the movie or not (it's growing on me) if you like stuff about
moviemaking it's a good buy. I haven't seen the documentary yet but just the
multi-part web doc was enough to make me go "Wow!" One section is just on Lucas'
first day of writing and we get to see his house, etc. Reminds me of the mind
boggling extras on the "Terminator" DVDs and it should since they were all done
by Van Ling.
By the way, Dvdfile.com says they previewed
the "Apes" dvd at Dave's Video and it is excellent (again, it's the same movie
but we're talking dvd quality). I shop at Dave's Video but I missed out on
that.
Yes, "Lord of the Rings" is a big risk but I
hear they are concentrating on the storytelling, so they might pull it off. As I
said before, they are greenlighting sequels before the originals are even out
("Harry Potter", "Spiderman"). Time will soon tell how smart that
is.

There is a comic book called "The Forbidden
Zone" where Mendez leaves the mutants, which suggests history has changed. I'm
including that in Pt. 2 of my chronology.

That is interesting, I never knew that.
And would be interesting to read. And perhaps that's what the cartoon
series meant when the astronauts landed after the there was no Planet of the
Apes.
I believe the cartoon series began in 3979? A year after I believe?
I'll have too recheck my POTA Cartoon series, I haven't watched them in a

You see everyone, I can talk POTA classic as well. :o)

Yeah, I watched the "Star Wars" doc. People
complained about "Episode One" but watching the doc it's obvious Lucaswas wild
about the choices he made. Watch the sparkle in his eye during Jake Lloyd's
audition (who was the most exuberant but not the best). He obviously thought Jar
Jar was the show stealer. I also enjoyed when he shows Spielberg the battle
droid and when Ewan McGregor gets a haircut. What's incredible is how bare the
sets are. It's like minimalist theatre - - - EVERYTHING is added later. And how
Lucas can actually change performances with the computer (and does it often). I
also liked when Lucas said that "More American Graffiti" made 10 cents. It even
gives us a preview of "Episode 2" (on Lucas' notepad). It's almost enough to
turn Rory into a "Star Wars"
fan!

Hey, Al. I don't know what your e-mail address is
and I can't access it from the site. The Ep One DVD is excellent. Whether you
like the movie or not (it's growing on me) if you like stuff about moviemaking
it's a good buy. I haven't seen the documentary yet but just the multi-part
web doc was enough to make me go "Wow!" One section is just on Lucas' first
day of writing and we get to see his house, etc. Reminds me of the mind
boggling extras on the "Terminator" DVDs and it should since they were all
done by Van Ling.
- - - - Jeff
Yeah, it's in the deleted scenes area. Called: "THE BEGINNING" Great
Documentary! Best Doc I've seen yet on any DVD, amazing.
e-mail me anytime.
Best bud.

The cartoon series ends my chronology. I
think it makes slightly more sense that in a 1,000 years the apes are at least a
little advanced. They have cars, buildings, etc. If the chronology is circular
and "Battle" leads into "Planet" they haven't changed much at all. Plus the
cartoon kind of gives a resolution because it takes place after the dreaded year
Caesar worried about of Earth's destruction. And the mutants (now Underdwellers)
are more mellow too.

I told you. For me that is the best doc I've seen yet on a DVD. Such great
detail. I've seen it more than once already, and everytime it's great! I just
hope the BLEEP BLEEP DVD docs are just as good. And
because Fox followed the same format as Phantom Menace when advertising
BLEEP BLEEP 2001, Hopfuly they'll have some great stuff
like on Phantom Menace. Maybe even better.
But we'll soon find out when BLEEP BLEEP 2001 comes

Well, I don't know Jeff.
The chronology can continue seeing that the timeline has changed.
And therefore cars, jeeps and so on in 3979 is now part of the new and
continuing reality. They don't advance, but rather keep the same technology
through out the centuries. Although the T.V. Series would kick the idea in the
butt.
I don't know, just a thought.

I don't get your gripe, Jeff. There's nothing better than watching people running from, getting stomped on by, and eaten by dinosaurs. It's the only thing I find exciting about the "JP" movies and Number 3 really delievered. I only wish it lasted another hour with lots more Dino action.

The future will NOT be the same. I have no problem with
that.
To a certain point Rory.
If the main elements of the future remain untouched
then the furture will remain untouched. For example:
The Apes arrive a year after Taylor leaves (of
course it's the same ship):
Caesar rises and takes over the city, but is it the
same city as Aldo? Aldo was a chimp according to Cornelius and Zira and not a
Gorilla. And there was many cities using apes as slaves and not just Ceasar's
City.
So the same colony that Aldo creates in New
Jersey may not be Ceasar's.
Mendez does see the bomb as a thing to worship in
Battle's uncut scenes, so the timeline of Mendez remains. And while Jeff speaks
of the Mendez departure, I'm sure that that version doesn't appear on Japanese
comics nor any books as Japan kept the uncut version.
So as long as Ceasar didn't rise in Aldo's City and
Mendez continues with the mutants, the Alpha Omega fate is the same. And if
Ceasar's city is not the same as Aldo's, then Cornelius and Zira will be reborn
in the future. Seeing that nothing has been touched in Aldo's
colony.
If you look at books outside of the films, I'm sure
you'll always find something to support either side, but if you stick to the
films themselves, using cut or uncut BATTLE, you can believe whatever version
you please.
In the end it doesn't matter because both are
supported by Battle. If you live in Amercia, you believe in changed fate, If you
live in Japan or else where, where the uncut version was released, you believe
in circle timeline.
Something to think about.
Oh and I forgot, it's also in the bible
:o)
Best.

I like that one then. But now, it suffers from a lack of Dino-action. I guess the JP flicks have made us jaded.
I know what you mean, but, and call me old-fashioned, I rather like looking at that stop-motion animation. Yes, it's done much better today, but sort of lacks the charm of old "King Kong."

I don't get your gripe, Jeff. There's
nothing better than watching people running from, getting stomped on by, and
eaten by dinosaurs. It's the only thing I find exciting about the "JP"

hour with lots more Dino action.

Subject: [pota] Re: The circle
timeline
Oh, you rocket scientists!
Look, history changed by the simple fact that in ESCAPE Cornelius
tells the secret of the apes' pre-history, then with the birth of Milo (aka
Caesar), that history as to how the apes take over is changed by the
events in CONQUEST, then Caesar further affects changes in history with his
actions in BATTLE (i.e. humans and apes living as equals at the end).
The future will NOT be the same. I have no problem with
that.
To a certain point Rory.
If the main elements of the future remain
untouched then the furture will remain untouched. For example:
The Apes arrive a year after Taylor leaves (of
course it's the same ship):
Caesar rises and takes over the city, but is it
the same city as Aldo? Aldo was a chimp according to Cornelius and Zira and
not a Gorilla. And there was many cities using apes as slaves and not just
Ceasar's City.
So the same colony that Aldo creates in
New Jersey may not be Ceasar's.
Mendez does see the bomb as a thing to worship in
Battle's uncut scenes, so the timeline of Mendez remains. And while Jeff
speaks of the Mendez departure, I'm sure that that version doesn't appear on
Japanese comics nor any books as Japan kept the uncut version.
So as long as Ceasar didn't rise in Aldo's City
and Mendez continues with the mutants, the Alpha Omega fate is the same. And
if Ceasar's city is not the same as Aldo's, then Cornelius and Zira will be
reborn in the future. Seeing that nothing has been touched in Aldo's
colony.
If you look at books outside of the films, I'm
sure you'll always find something to support either side, but if you stick to
the films themselves, using cut or uncut BATTLE, you can believe whatever
version you please.
In the end it doesn't matter because both are
supported by Battle. If you live in Amercia, you believe in changed fate, If
you live in Japan or else where, where the uncut version was released, you
believe in circle timeline.
Something to think about.
Oh and I forgot, it's also in the bible
:o)
Best.

I would say that that is correct Jeff.
The only point I'm making is that just the fact that it was in the script,
and was filmed. Simply means that it can be taken both ways, and that thinking
it can only be seen in one way is simply incorrect.

If this marketing company who have been ( supposedly) employed by Fox to
generate publicity for the DVD release of the new movie want me to open my
address book to do so, they'd have to pay me more than the price of a $20 DVD to

.html"Invasion of the Apes" is a short story written by Luiz Adami, a
journalist from Brazil. He wrote a book called "The Only Good Human is a
Dead Human". He's been to the U.S. a couple times recently. He promoted the
book at Starcon '98 and was made up as an ape by Bill Blake, then we all
went to the Fox ranch. He's currently creating an "Apes" museum in Brazil.

.htmlThere's two scripts by Rod Serling, "Episode One" and "Episode Two". (Hey,
George Lucas stole his titles!). I think they were serialized in "Ape
Chronicles".

Hey, if Fox can afford to just give these things away, imagine how cheap it must be to produce this crap!
If it's a "contest" I doubt any of us will ever see a freeby, well, except for Alex.
I certainly don't know anyone to promote it to. Well, except for Alex.
Talk about coals to Newcastle!
Hey, let's just all promote it among ourselves! Who's to know?

Oh, I see -- thanks, that cleared things up for me fully.
You're welcome! Let me know if I can be of any further ASS-istance.
(Hey, it made me laugh!) Seriously, I think Jeff Krueger might know what you're talking about. He's played host to this Brazilian dude out in California.

See, I knew Jeffery would come to the rescue. But I think the guy wants to know what the story is about -- other than an invasion of the apes!
