We have a Turntable, but I only use it to copy Records that are'nt available on CD, to CD. I then put the record away and never play it again, this is the best way to keep your records in pristine condition.

KISS was the biggest thing when I was little. I was Gene Simmons for
Halloween from age 8 till I was a teenager. I have close to 3500
records now. You name it. I probably have something by them.

I would agree with this in a classic apes universe. I really
wouldn't have the interest in reading 2001 stuff, although out of
curiosity I might read Quick's books. (Is that his name?)

Yeah I have, but I rarely use it, as I hate playing Vinyl over and over, cause everytime you play your vinyl, the needle takes a thin layer off your records, so I copy anything that I can't buy to a CD to play.

I have Space 1999 on CD though, I downloaded it from their Site.

There's a Charlton Heston movie coming out on DVD this Tuesday (Feb. 22), THE AGONY AND THE ECSTASY (1965), where Heston plays Michelangelo.  Maybe you've heard of him?  Anyway, the film was shot by Leon Shamroy, who lensed POTA, and there's a documentary before the film about the artist that's scored by Jerry Goldsmith.  One of his best compositions.  I'd check it out for anyone here who has Netflix or some other DVD rental arrangement.

I live in England, but a lot of the stuff I collect is obscure, like Violinski's second Album "Stop Cloning About". Only 500 or so of these were Pressed due to an error with the Record Company where the Album got accidently deleted. I got the Vinyl of this in 1997 from a specialist record shop and have now transferred it to CD, originally I copied it to a Cassette to play.

I was telling that story. Then Dave told us how the chat crashed
his computer. Then AmyG's computer crashed, although her name
stayed up for at least thirty minutes after she went off-line!

So, we left the chat room. Did you find anyone there?

Yes I do, it's called "The Ultimate Collection". It's a 2CD Set that features every hit they had all over the world (no pun intended) all digitally remastered, it's well worth getting, but it was only released in the UK and Europe, so you would have to get it as an import.

Jeff actually gave me mine. I won it!!! Thanks, Jeff! They fall
apart too easily to play with the sets much, but I love the little
apes. And as a display someplace where you don't have to dust and
little kids don't bang into them they'd be cool.

Feeling a little guilty here... I just found my Beach Boys record
on my daughters floor. The jacket was somewhere else. They weren't
the best anyway. My best friend had one of those portable record
players, and we took all of our albums in the woods to our hideout
near the river and played them there. Not good for the vinyl. But
they lasted and lasted.

Rory-
I don't think they're doing block style figures here...I could be
wrong. They did do a non-block style detailed line of Army of Darkness
4'' figures, so I'm hoping we'll get something along those lines. The
AoD series comes in two-packs, so if Apes are done the same way that
would sure be a bonus.

Granted, Michael Crawford once hinted at another board that "Apes fans
are getting new figures, but they may not like exactly what they're
getting". So it's 50/50.

Pretty sure it'll be the classic Apes! The Burton film's come and
gone, I don't see why they'd tie in with that...not to mention
Palisades probably realizes that the classic series is more popular.

This CD is a mixture of stuff I got off the net, I am now playing some Phil Bates songs.

Phil was in Trickster in the 70's and they supported ELO on their "Out Of The Blue Tour" in 1978. Phil joined ELO PT2 in 1993 and stayed with them till 1998.

I just started Netflix because I needed to get so many musicals for
my son's music program. This was a great way to do that. They are
very fast here! We get the movie, view it and send it back, one day
wait, next day here. 3 day turn over! (But... we are viewing them
the night they come or the next day.) It works great and when we
have seen all the musicals we need, I'll cancel and go back to being
culturally illiterate.

They used to be that way with me, but something has happened to them.  I'm not the only one they've slowed down for.  I think the competition is getting to them.

Maybe it has to do with being a new "client." We'll see. But I bet
we get out before we are considered an old "client."
