I agree Helen,
If they are gonna re-do it, they have to keep
true to the Books, they can't go messing with it and take the religious side
out of it out, that just would'nt be right!
I'm not at all religious myself, but if a story
has religion in it, then it should stay in it, I hate it when people feel the
need to mess with things!!!!!!!!!!

references. No can do.
And the stories are so
beautiful. I really needs to be done right, scenery and

I read the entire series aloud to the kids once every three

of the Fellowship of Ring? Or have Arwen take the place of
Glorfindel at the ford? I'm still ticked about that... And I love
the Lord of the Rings.

.htmlScones are all the rage in California. They are really good. I have
an old-time recipe that is absoutely wonderful. I "dip" my scones in
sugar. :) Forget the butter and cream.

.htmlYou'd almost have to have a lot of CGI because of all the crazy
things Lewis wrote about. But they had better make the believable
and realistic. The books are so wonderful. Making them into movies
will take away some of the magic of them. Children won't have to use
their imaginations as much as before, because they will know how
everything is "suppose" to look.

A Biscuit is what you would call a Cookie, you
dip it in your Tea, well us Brits do anyway.
A Scone is a bread thing that you cut in half
and add Jam And Cream, and we tend to also have these with a nice hot cup of Tea
too.

Wow Michael!!
I discovered Cheap Trick by accident really, I
bought "The Dream Police" on vinyl in a sale, cause it was dirt cheap and I
loved the name if it!!
In recent years I found out that they are also
great Mates with Roy Wood and he has performed with them a few times, I
actually have some Boots of Performances with Roy!
Plus they are big Fans of The Move and have
covered a few of their songs, and very well I might add!

selling the rights if they take the Christian references out. I'd
like to know what the plan is, then, or if they got the "rights"

.htmlOkay, butter is good, but sugar is better. Hum... maybe that's the
reason I have to ride my bike 10 miles a day to stay in shape... I
forgot the butter and added the sugar.

Awe, Watership Down, I first saw this in
the Cinema at Boarding School, we used to get taken to the Cinema as a treat
sometimes, and this was a film I got to see, and I cried my eyes out, it was so
sad, I will never forget that day, I was affected by the film for weeks
after.
Incidently, I also saw my first POTA film this
way too, we were taken to see "Conquest" and would you believe that I did'nt
even know it was a follow on from other films, I thought the preface was just
made up to give a background to the film, not actually parts of other
films!!
I loved this film and when I found out there
were others I went on a quest to see them.
Yours Truly
2005,
Kuiama.

.htmlThat's just what I heard through a 3rd person reference. They are
filming it down in L.A. But they had better keep the British accents
with the kids and Professor Digs! Digorty is one of my favorite
characters. When I was in 6th and 7th grade me and my best friend
used to go around shutting ourselves in closest trying to get to
Narnia to marry Edmund or Caspian. lol. We were slightly obessessed
and could quote entire pages from the books.

handled by WETA (who did LOTR) so at least you know those
areas are in good hands.
Film-makers are happy to make bad movies that turn a profit
rather than good ones that no one will go see. Don't blame them,
blame the audiences for making rubbish acceptable.

even know the names of songs. I was listening to tunes. What's on
the album? There was a lot of Queen out there at the time.
I was in a little basement rock band when I was in high school. We
did kids birthday parties. Really.

I agree Kasey,
I feel that children's imaginations are being
taken away from them more and more as the years go on, what with lots of CGI to
show how the directors think the things described in the novels should look like
and all the video's that are made for music these days.
I prefer to use my imagination for everything,
we should never lose the power of imagination, it's a big part of the human
culture.

almost have to have a lot of CGI because of all the crazy things Lewis
wrote about. But they had better make the believable and realistic. The
books are so wonderful. Making them into movies will take away some of the
magic of them. Children won't have to use their imaginations as much as
before, because they will know how everything is "suppose" to
look. Kasey

.html Disney's upcoming adaptation of The Chronicles of Narnia: The
Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe
Director Andrew Adamson (Shrek and Shrek 2) was picked by
Walden Media after delivering a 20 page "term paper" on his
vision for Narnia. One of the keys to the film is the child actors
that Pippa Hall was able to find. They spent 18 months and
interviewed over 2000 kids before finalizing on the four chosen.
Principal shooting will wrap up in New Zealand in December,
and after a short break, a few winter scenes will be filmed in the
Czech Republic.
-23 separate species were created, with many individual
characters within each species including 30 fauns, 8 dwarfs,
numerous centaurs and many others.
-The casting for the voice of Aslan is still going on. Aslan will be
mostly CGI handled by Dean Wright, but Howard's crew made a
couple animatronic Aslans that would be seen in key scenes.
Using a real lion was an early possibility, but since many of the
scenes with Aslan also involved children, going CGI was the
preferred option.
-All of the arms and armor in the film have been hand crafted.
WETA had a team of craftsmen create unique sets of arms and
armor for each major character and complete styles for each
different race.
Everyone is concerned about making a "talking animal" movie
and they are going to great lengths to make all of the creatures
look natural.
-The creatures in the film have not been toned down and some
of them will be scary for kids. Howard Berger did the "kid test" on
all of the creations and asked his own children what they thought
and would go back and do extra work when his kids said that
things looked "cheesy".
-The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe was chosen as the first
film because it is the best known of the stories, and it is the one
that is most synonymous with the Narnia series. However, in
designing TLWW Richard and WETA, who have been involved on
the project for almost 2 years, drew upon all of the other books in
the series taking into account the Edwardian aspects of Digory
and Polly as well as the White Witch's background from The
Magician's Nephew. C. S. Lewis mentions creatures from many
mythologies and they were also considered when creating
Narnia.
-A few aspects of the book were changed in order to flesh out the
movie. A longer introduction has been added in order to give a
young audience the same feel that children reading the books
when they were first published had. The Battle of Britain and the
resulting relocation of all children out of London had only the
briefest of mentions on the first page of the book, but the movie
will show more of the flight of the children to Professor Kirke's
estate. Also, the climatic battle between the forces of good and
evil was glossed over by Lewis in just a page and a half in book.
The movie's battle will take several weeks to film on New
Zealand's south island, on one of the only plots of land that Peter
Jackson did not use for the "Lord of the Rings," and will give
much more emphasis to the fight. <.html

1981, I did'nt discover ELO till 1987!! That is tragic!
But I know more about them than most fans who
have been following them since 1971!!
Queen, yes, they were very popular in the
70's!!!

What's on the album? There was a lot of Queen out there at the
time.
I was in a little basement rock band when I was in high
school. We did kids birthday parties.
Really.

Most of my collection is 60's and 70's. I
used to collect a lot of vinyl, but now I collect mostly CD's, but I have to
have all the different Vinyl Pressings I can get of anything related to ELO and
The Move, so I have a lot of Vinyl in my collection.
I am now playing the music from another classic

We have a Turntable, but I only use it to
copy Records that are'nt available on CD, to CD. I then put the record away and
never play it again, this is the best way to keep your records in pristine
condition.

.html I had the die-cast space ships from space 1999. My Dad introduced me
to all those sci-fi shows when I was a kid. He loved space 1999, Dr.
Who, Battlestar Galactica and when I was about 2 yrs. old he would
let me stay up to watch the Planet of the Apes TV show with him. It
was my favorite then and still to this day. Those were special times.
That's why I love watching the Apes with my son. <.html

Most of my collection is 60's and 70's. I used to collect a lot of vinyl, but now I collect mostly CD's, but I have to have all the different Vinyl Pressings I can get of anything related to ELO and The
Move, so I have a lot of Vinyl in my collection.
I am now playing the music from another classic 70's Sci Fi Series!! The first series of Space 1999!!
Yours Truly 2005,

You got a turntable then, I take it? Haven't owned one of those things in over twenty years!

I have a couple of original Die-Cast Eagles
from Space 1999, The Liberator from Blakes 7 and I have a model from Buck
Rogers. I never had them as a Child though, as much as I always loved Sci Fi, my
parents believed in girls only having girls toys, so I used to chuck my dolls in
a corner or run them over with my Brother's Tanks and Cars!
Lol!
I always played with his Toys, and as soon as I
was old enough to earn my own money I went again'st my Parents wishes and
started buying Die-Cast Cars and I still collect them to this
day!
I have other cult vehicles too, like
Thunderbirds, Joe 90, Moonraker, Knight Rider, The A-Team (My fave Van of all
time!!) and Captain Scarlet.
