was also talking about Ebay. Haven't seen them being sold for some
time, but then again, I'm not spending as much time on Ebay myself
these days, so maybe they are still being offered.
Thanks for the pic Tim.

Hi Neil, Just a quicky while food cooks, Most of the new ape pics
are quite small, The gorilla is only 10inch by 8 inch the main
reason for this is so I'm able to scan them. The Scrolls cover was
approx A4. Once scanning isn't a consideration then they can be any
size (I come from a fine art background so I 've been known to do
6ft by 3ft paintings quite often, just none on apes :) ) As for
length of time it takes to finish , well there's the rub because I
could paint on the same picture endlessly, certainly this is one of
my vices . The gorilla took about 8 hours of painting time .They're
not really painted in set stages (except the underpainting) Once
colour is introduced the whole image is pretty much worked on at the
same time, how ever between the underpainting and the rest I paint a
thin glaze of transparent green over the whole thing,in the case of
the gorilla this was why red had been used in the underpainting as a
complmentary colour to green this gives a richness to the painting
from the start. Some times I begin with a coloured ground such as
red with the underpainting done in burnt umber again with green
washed on the top, very much how some one like Rembrandt would start
a painting. Hope you find this of some interest
Best Graham. <.html

.htmlWell, I hate to help kill off yet another short-lived Planet of the
Apes line but I have not bought any of the sideshow figures. At $20 a
piece I just can't justify spending that kind of money on figures I
would add to the already insane amount of Apes merchandise that sits
in my "playroom" that nobody is allowed to touch. If the comic stores
or another local retailer down here carried these it probably would
have been harder to resist, but thankfully the evil temptation has
been kept away. I would rather spend that money on ebay and get an
original item from the 70's.

.htmlWhen they first came out at $40 a piece, it was way too much for me.
The prices have come down somewhat for some of these on Ebay, into the
$20 range, but I still haven't taken the plunge. I was just looking at
a Ebay auction earlier today which featured the first 5 figures for
$100 + shipping. I found myself starting doing US to CDN fund
conversions. I think if they were just a bit cheaper I may decide to
get some. Of course the one I like the most, the lawgiver statue, is
the most expensive of the lot. Why is that? OK, so it's a lot bigger,
but it does not require a fancy paint job or any clothing. It should
be cheaper!

Well, I hate to help kill off yet another
short-lived Planet of the Apes line but I have not bought any of the
sideshow figures. At $20 a piece I just can't justify spending that kind
of money on figures I would add to the already insane amount of Apes
merchandise that sits in my "playroom" that nobody is allowed to touch. If
the comic stores or another local retailer down here carried these it
probably would have been harder to resist, but thankfully the evil
temptation has been kept away. I would rather spend that money on ebay and
get an original item from the 70's. <.html

No begging required. The comic is there on Hunter's site. It was there this morning when I checked before announcing it (I always check to make sure Hunter's loaded the newest comic before I post the
announcement) and it was there just now when I checked to make sure it hadn't disappeared since this morning. It's at the top of the What's New page, with today's date of 8/24/05 marked clearly above it.
It's also on the page where all of the other Marvel UKs are listed. Perhaps your browser is displaying an older version of the page from your hard drive cache. You might want to try reloading the page.

form. The gorillas are virtually identical, as most of the gorillas whom we've met are, and they seem to be evenly matched physically. As such, I feel no concern either for the victor or for the vanquished. To
me, they represent senseless brutality for its own sake; an army feeding on its own entrails.
Of course, their anonymity may be the whole point of their existence; they're mindless cogs in the Great War Machine, unable to resist following orders; a true mirror of Human nature.
Dr. Milo seems to be deep in thought. Is he thinking that he should read Dr. Garvon's notes before the authorities get to them?

.html They finally released the full Season 1 of the "Muppet Show" on DVD.
It includes the Paul Willams episode and if you watch it with the pop
up facts option, they do acknowledge that he played "Virgil" in
Battle for the Planet of the Apes. It also includes the pilot that was
created to sell the show. In it they do a mock movie review for
"Return to Beneath the Planet of the Pigs." In this sketch an
astronaut is kept in a pen with other humans till it is discovered he
can speak. The pigs then send him to a doctor to "have his head opened
so they can look inside." Its a pretty funny satire of the Apes saga. <.html

.htmlI was reading the latest issue of "Rue Morgue" (horror magazine) the
other day and while reading a few articles on the many Bigfoot/Sasquatch
movies over the years, I found not 1, not 2, but 3 "Ape" connections,
one I knew and two I did not.
1) Most of you have probably seen that 'famous' (infamous) footage of a
bigfoot shot way back in the late sixties. It's pretty much featured in
any Bigfoot documentary. Any how its called the Patterson-Gimlin film (a
shot of which can be seen
here: http://www.museumofhoaxes.com/photos/bigfoot1.html" ) and of the
many stories surrounding it's creation is one that purports that John
Chambers himself made the custom. Hell if anyone is gonna make an
Apelike custom, who you gonna call? This story that Chambers created the
outfit is by Richard "Mr. Jaws" Kiel who claims he was the one wearing
the suit.
2) Since I try to get every bit of writing from Rod Serling that I can
get my hands on, I knew that his name was attached to a book called
"Monsters! Mystreries or Myths?". What I did not know was this was
based on a TV film special/documentary hosted by Rod Himself. It was
aired in 1974 on CBS and was a smash (40 million viewers). Cool!
3) There is currently a bigfoot-like movie in production called
"Abominable" being put together by Lalo Schifrin's (Return to POTA
composer) son Ryan.
Just more useless information for ape hungry minds.

.htmlMy Lawgiver Statue came in the other day, and it's
quite excellent. Detail-wise, it's on-par with the
Medicom, but it's much MUCH bigger, and made out of a
rock-like substance that gives it the 'feel' of being
an actual carved statue.
Of course, it WAS over $100.00, but I ain't
complaining. They sent along a free Cornelius figure,
just for ordering it (I ordered it at ComicCon),
though it would've been nice to get a Sideshow figure
I didn't already have -- I bought a Cornelius, a Zira,
a Zaius, a Taylor (astronaut), and a Gorilla Soldier
figure there and shipped 'em home. Now I've got TWO
Cornelius figures.
I think I'll call one of 'em "Roddy" and the other one
"David". Hah!
I don't know how many 'original POTA items from the
70s' are available at reasonable prices, but I don't
recall ever seeing a Lawgiver Statue made by the dudes
who made the POTA action figures. Remember their
astronaut figure, with the blue suit and the USAF
pilot's helmet? What were they thinking? He didn't
look ANYTHING like the ANSA astronauts we knew from
the movies & TV show. At least these Medicoms and
Sideshow figures have the costuming details down
pretty good.
Patrick
--- John < DrZaiusDavis@...> wrote:

bought any of the sideshow figures. At $20 a piece I
just can't justify spending that kind of money on
figures I would add to the already insane amount of
Apes merchandise that sits in my "playroom" that
nobody is allowed to touch. If the comic stores or
another local retailer down here carried these it
probably would have been harder to resist, but
thankfully the evil temptation has been kept away. I
would rather spend that money on ebay and get an
original item from the 70's.

*** Sorry to nitpick, but Lalo did the POTA TV show's theme music, not
the "Return to POTA" (cartoon) theme. Kudos to the guy who did, though:
I've always thought that the cartoon had pretty good music in it, very
POTA-like and a higher production value than the meager animation
itself.
We should petition FILMSCORE MONTHLY to get their mitts on the POTA TV
ashow music AND the cartoon's music, and have 'em release a CD of it,
to accompany their BENEATH and CONQUEST/BATTLE CDs.
They released the complete Jerry Goldsmith score to the film "LOGAN'S
RUN" as well as a CD of music from the "LOGAN'S RUN" TV show. How much
of a demand was there for THAT??? I'm glad they did it, and bought a
copy of it happily... but there've GOT to be more POTA fans out there
than "LOGAN'S RUN" fans (though I dig both of 'em), so you'd think that
a POTA TV-&-cartoon CD would do fairly well for them.

Hi there,
I am one of those dratted lurkers who
enjoys reading some of the threads but don’t usually feel I have a lot to
contribute.
I have not been in the loop on the Going
Home comics – mainly because I figured with my slow dial-up connection it
would just be too hard to receive ‘em.
So…. I’ve been curious for a
long time and now glad to get at least a little peek of what everyone has been
talking about on the web site listed below.
Very well done! I’ve never
really paid attention to comic book stuff before, but I’m really
impressed with what I see here. The likenesses to the TV characters and
the facial expressions are very well done and so much more than I expected!
Maybe someday, I’ll graduate beyond
dial-up and ask to get caught up on where the story leads……but it
was nice to get a little peek at what everyone chats about.

Thanks Greg. I don't know why but I had to refresh the page 3 times
before issue 45 appeared at the top of the page. I hate AOL. ;)
Thanks again. I look foward to these as much as I do the new comics from Neil and Michael. I appreciate you guys helping to contribute to
the 1.19 GB, 2500+ files of Planet of the Apes stuff that dominates my computer. Seriously, Thank you.

Hi Neil, I've been looking at the comics since you put them in the
files, very nice really like the Within strips, are these reproduced
from your pencils? The reason I ask is I don't know whether you've
seen art by a guy named David Hitchcock, he does black and white work
which is partially inked but toned with pencil sounds like it
shouldn't work but it does. He's just finished a self published comic
called Springheeled Jack.Certainly an interesting look.

.htmlI did not say I think it was true, but it is one (of many) stories
about who were really behind it. Personally, I doubt it.
Chambers was well on his way in his career and probably would not have
the time or inclination to be involved with something as silly.
Besides, the creature is nothing like any of his Apes work.
But after looking more into this, I came up with even more sites that
not only acknowledge he was involved but refute his denial and provide
more evidence that he was involved. Many web sites claim that John
Landis said that Chambers told him of his involvement.
http://www.bigfootencounters.com/creatures/bigfoot.htm
The Chambers/Kiel/Landis stuff is all near the end. If you
google "Chamber bigfoot Landis" you'll get plenty more.
We humans have a tendency to seek out nice clean answers to these
types of questions. It's much more interesting to insinuate that
someone like Chambers was involved with this than some no-name Joe
Shmo. So, once the assertion is made, it becomes hard if not
impossible to completely bury the insimuation. This was never more
true than today with the internet which is such a bottomless pit for
these rumours. Just having him say he did not do it is not enough.
It's foolish to believe anything we read these days. More convincing
(but not 100% foolproof and still susceptible to people outright
lying) would be film/video recorded conversations.
So did he do it? I don't think anybody can say for sure.

-- Yes they are. The original idea behind the Within strip was for it
to be something to experiment with and I was supposed to keep the art
simple and 'cartoony' but somewhere along the way the dreaded 'detail
bug' got hold of me again.
I must admit I do like the way the pencils look (plus I get them done
quicker without having to apply the ink of course) just as I really
loved those couple of Terror stories they reproduced from Mike Ploog's
pencils back in the Marvel / Curtis magazines.

Sooooo...... did anyone else check out the flash of their other two
comics? I was hoping the art would have been a bit better. (Damn you
Neil. Look how you've impacted our tastes and expectations.)
Looks like they are really into merchandising their comics too (Mugs,
T-shirt, clocks, etc). Maybe this will not be the case with POTA since
the others (I assume) are original creations but POTA is only going to
be licensed from FOX.
Still, I could use a POTA clock. :)

Here it is.
Some VERY nice photos and
posters.
Did anyone here make it?
Harry survives the
Forbidden Zone with the Rolling Roadshow for PLANET
OF THE APES!

I’m just outside of Page,
Arizona – the sandy hills are too scary for our Dodge Durango, so
we’ll be hitching a ride into Ape territory with Tim League and the
Alamo’s All Terrain Vehicle. They came prepared with anything and
everything. Oh accept we’re all terrified of the Lawgiver and the
Forbidden Zone. Just like in the finale of the great PLANET OF THE APES…
the Earth here is cracked. Lightning bolts are dancing about us… but even
worse that towers of illusory flame is… the
rain.
This day has been spent upon the
north rim of the Grand Canyon , the
painted desert… over the very backbone of this land and then in and
amongst Lake Powell .
Crossing that dam and looking back at the mountains of the Forbidden Zone was
just awesome. They don’t look real, they look like matte paintings by
Albert Whitlock… they deserve a lavender sky above them. In fact,
it’d been so long since I saw PLANET OF THE APES – the original and
best version, that I actually thought I wouldn’t
recognize any of the landscape… but by golly – there it was! Couldn’t believe it. The whole bloody thing began to
play itself out. Didn’t hurt that I had the score to BENEATH THE PLANET
OF THE APES playing – oddly… the music in tandem with the
landscape… it actually gave me the creeps… Could have had something
to do with the lightning… or just how unearthly it looked around here.

By the time we got back to Page, Arizona
– we were suitably jazzed to be seeing PLANET OF THE APES. Only, it was
pouring ass rain. I had faith it’d work out, Tim and crew are a come hell
or high water type of badass organization. I figured,
they’d just get to innovative.

Ok – so the trail to this amphitheater… it was not passable by any vehicle that
didn’t have 4 wheel drive and wasn’t
weighed down. Well, with the satellite link up to the AICN satellite which is in geo-synchronous orbit with the “Argo”
well… as always, we’re heavy. Now where did Tim League
suddenly come by this super 4-wheel drive vehicle? Well, back in Austin ,
Tim is a member of The Benevolent & Protective Order of the Elks… And
when he saw a fellow Elk with the exact right vehicle for the task at hand, he
greeted him as a brother Elk and instant and blissful cooperation was at hand.
Yes, we’re in secret society
territory. As we’re driving along, we ask about the Alamo
truck. “No, there was no way to get it in there, so we’ll be going
with the little rig and no screen” – No Screen? What the hell was
he planning on projecting upon? As we’re ramping up and out of the 5th
Sand Dune – I see the amphitheater…

It is a stunner. Smooth stratified
sandstone in pinks, oranges, reds and beige. Impossibly
smooth and the shapes and lines… so elegant and majestic. In the
light of the setting sun the colors pop like that old
psychedelic FANTASIA poster from 1970. And this one wall of this natural amphitheater is flat, with naturally formed bric-a-brac
around the edges that give it this framed look… as if it had been waiting
a millennia for Tim and the Rolling Roadshow to bring Charlton Heston’s magnificent mug
to its surface. Surely… “That’s
where we’re projecting it,” Tim says as we hit another dune and
plop upon the stone floor of God’s theater.
“That’s going to be so
cool,” I enthuse.
“Or it could be
disasterous,” Tim says as lightning strikes and rain
continues to fall. Father Geek, Kubla Khan and I are
all deposited – Tim’s rushing back to gather more folks, more
supplies… He’s the very picture of Alice ’s
White Rabbit… “I’m late, I’m late, I’m
late – to a very important date! Oh me oh my, I’m late I’m
late I’m late!”
I’m so glad I have no
responsibilities on this trip other than writing to you about all of this. I
can’t imagine all the layers of this particular series of events that Tim
and the folks throwing this amazing epic affair would be. As I sit gawking at
the beauty of this magical and mystical place – the Rolling Roadshow crew are creating a theater
from scratch… Like Scotty patching the Enterprise together or MacGuyver with bubblegum and paperclips –
they’re testing the sound system to bounce sound in such a way as to not
get an echo effect in this canyon/amphitheater,
protect the multi-zillion dollar speaker and projection and generator equipment
from the ravages of cloud piss.
More than one member of the crew
are licking a finger, holding it to the wind and with binoculars searching the
far southwestern skies for… for what? Hope?
Despair? What?
It’s now an hour before
complete darkness- the amphitheater is beginning to
find its audience. More and more folks have begun to spill into the place.
Father Geek is about halfway up the rear canyon wallface
– Some insane folks are about 40 ft above his position…
they’re going to die, they’re probably all
on drugs.
As has become standard in these
twilight hours – the tour-mates gather about to gossip about their days,
the plans for the next day, the accomplishments done in the hours since Monument
Valley – and the route
they’ll take to Bakersfield , California .
Then there’s the Ape-speak… the various ways we each say,
“Take your stinking paws off me, you damn dirty
ape!” Everyone is trying to teach my nephew to say it, but he steadfastly
refuses to say the word “damned,” yet everytime
someone says the line he cackles – though he has no idea what it means
– or that it is even from the movie we’re all about to see.
I can’t imagine a time where
I didn’t know PLANET OF THE APES – it’s been a part of my
life since my youngest days. I had the Mego
dolls… all of them. My parents were cool that way, but not quite cool
enough to get me the Mego Ape City
Playscape. But my Apes fought with Conan and Isis ,
Captain America
and Evil Knieval. They used to fight out on the
bar-b-cue pit that was made out of strange rocks in my backyard as a kid his
age. At 5 – STAR WARS hadn’t quite happened, but a ton of Apes had
– and I loved it.
Many of you can’t imagine the
pre-Star Wars days of fandom. The days where the world of the
fantastical was ruled by Ray Harryhausen, George Pal
and… Apes. I remember I had a ‘Ben
Cooper’ (I think) made Halloween costume where I was Dr Zaius. About a year ago I met the TV Dr Zaius
at an Austin
convention and I geeked rather strongly about it all.
I still remember when 20th Century Fox invited us all to GO APE with that
wonderful recruitment poster to see all 5 Ape films. That was such a cool time.
Now things are so cluttered. Everything screaming for attention weekly.
Everything “special.” It’s one of the
things that attracted me to this Rolling Roadshow
event. It was a chance to get excited about something intimate, yet absolutely
truly captivating and unique that this all is. I love that I’m far off
the map of my “usual” territory both physically and mentally. I
have no idea what the box office gross this past weekend was and I really
don’t care. To me, I’m lost in a world of atlases and destinations,
views from a window at 75 miles an hour. Everyday it’s transforming
around me and how cool is that?
The nephew is playing with some of
the regulars on this journey and it’s beginning to get dark dark… and to the northeast is the edge of the storm
system that was blowing over. The V in the rocks opens up a sunset view of otherworldly
colors – and the Roadshow
crew have lit Tiki Torches that are now lighting the way to the bathroom and
the amphitheater itself. Hotel buses are bringing in
loads of folks – each finding a place upon the rock.

Tim begins to explain the
uniqueness of the screening the audience is about to experience. Then the
lights go out – and almost collectively you could feel the heads look to
the sky… it is now devoid of cloud cover… crystal clear. Gorgeous. The trailers tonight would be Heston and Monkey
related Tim had told us… but the first two trailers had another significance to me.
The first trailer was for
TWO-MINUTE WARNING – the football stadium thriller starring Heston and
BROCK PETERS – I’d read earlier that day that Brock had passed
away. It’s cool and sad to see him tonight, the very night I heard he had
died. Then the trailer for SOYLENT GREEN screens and there’s Brock Peters
again. Neither of these are particularly his shining cinematic moment –
but neither of these are particularly negative either.
I really have a fond spot for both those titles, yet just seeing him on screen
this night makes me wish I was watching TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD, but then…
the trailer for THE OMEGA MAN comes on… bliss. “Because the last
man on earth ALWAYS carries an AUTOMATIC WEAPON! Because the last man on earth
is Not Alone!” “Your name is MUD!”
Giggles come from the audience. Then the last trailer hits… MONKEY HUSTLE
starring Yaphet Kotto and Dolemite,
mutherfucker! This was
followed by BATTLE
FOR THE PLANET OF THE APES – and my nephew got his first look at Apes
– and his reaction, “Is this a Star Wars movie, I want to see
this!” Heh.
The trailers played wonderful on
the sandstone – and oddly I thought the pinkish hued rocks would give a “Eastman Color” look
to the PLANET OF THE APES print, but not at all. The projection bulb was so
bright that it lit up that sandstone as if it were a screen.
This isn’t to say that it was
a perfect. There was a slight dimensionality to it all – but it gave the
film an increased level of being dreamlike. For example – when Taylor
is looking through the bars and talking to Nova – and both of them have
their faces pressed fully between the bars… there was something slightly
warped about it, but not in a headache way, but in a THIS IS SO DAMN COOL &
WEIRD way.
My nephew loved PLANET OF THE APES
– he thought it was very “badass” – which is my
nephew’s highest recommendation for a film, and usually only reserved for
films with martial arts, swords and with stop-motion animation.
I wasn’t expecting the PLANET
OF THE APES screening to really blow my mind, but this place – this
gorgeous locale, spending all day in and around here looking at the beautiful
locations in the Lake
Powell area… and then this amphitheater which was just amazing. At points in the film,
where I had the film memorized… sometimes I’d just look up at the
powdered stars of the Milky Way and I noticed the dancing beams of light from
the projector… a man made Northern Lights. There was a feeling in this
place that was hard to pinpoint – but it dawned on me afterwards. Had a
black monolith and neo-man been dancing around us… it would have been
perfect.
We were looking at cave paintings
at 24 frames a second – and though thousands of thousands of years have
passed, some call them millions, millions? Hmm… EEEEK, having a flashback. Seriously though, the screening
was so unique. No artifice of mankind cluttered the imagery. In a word, it was
magical.
This amazing film.
I can’t believe how wonderfully this movie moves in comparison to the Burton
remake. The only real enhancement between the two was Rick Baker’s
stunning make-up, but in all other ways – this movie absolutely owns the
remake. It just flows so quickly. And the arrogance and ego of Taylor
is just so convincingly projected by Heston. You don’t doubt his
character for a second.
But even more so… the simian
cast is more at ease and natural in their characters. As much as I enjoyed Tim
Roth’s chimp, Roddy MacDowell’s
was just so real to me. I don’t know why, maybe it’s just an
absolute love I have for Corny and Zira. Every time
they were onscreen – I smiled. I also saw my nephew utterly entranced by Zira. The magic of Kim Hunter. She
just makes you want to hug her. I swear she makes her makeup blush, it’s
the damnedest thing, and it’s all in her eyes and body posture.
After the screening we went back to
our Best Western overlooking the Forbidden Zone and while the nephew was
asleep, Father Geek and I stared out the window and just smiled. This really is
a magic trip.
Now, we’ve got to head to California
for the screening of NORTH BY NORTHWEST. I can not wait to meat the cropduster from Hitchcock’s film. He shared one of
the most iconic cinematic moments in the history of films with Cary
Grant – and I can’t wait to hear what he has to say. Bakersfield
here we come!

.html .htmlHumans Are on Display at London Zoo
By CASSANDRA VINOGRAD, AP
LONDON (Aug. 26) - Caged and barely clothed, eight men and women monkeyed around for the crowds Friday in an exhibit labeled "Humans'' at the London Zoo.
"Warning: Humans in their Natural Environment'' read the sign at the entrance to the exhibit, where the captives could be seen on a rock ledge in a bear enclosure, clad in bathing suits and pinned-on fig
leaves. Some played with hula hoops, some waved.
Visitors stopped to point and laugh, and several children could be heard asking, "Why are there people in there?''
London Zoo spokeswoman Polly Wills says that's exactly the question the zoo wants to answer
"Seeing people in a different environment, among other animals ... teaches members of the public that the human is just another primate,'' Wills said.
The exhibit puts the three male and five female "homo sapiens'' amid their primate relatives. While their neighbors might enjoy bananas and a good scratch, these eight have divided interests, from a chemist
hoping to raise awareness about apes to a self-described actor/model and fitness enthusiast.
For others, the aping around is just another forum for rampant exhibitionism and self-promotion.
Pointing at one heavy muscled and gleaming body on the ledge, one visitor joked that the zoo should consider a breeding program.
"You can tell why some people came here, like the big muscly men who clearly like parading around in thongs,'' said Damien Largey, 23.
Melissa Wecker, 21, was disappointed that the humans were wearing swimsuits beneath their fig leaves. "They're not doing anything. It looked lots better on the news,'' she complained.
Tom Mahoney, 26, decided to participate after his friend sent him an e-mail about the contest as a joke. Anything that draws attention to apes, he said, has his support.
"A lot of people think humans are above other animals,'' he told The Associated Press. "When they see humans as animals, here, it kind of reminds us that we're not that special.'
'Mark Ainsworth, 21, heard about the Human Zoo on the news.
"I've lived in this country for nine years and have never come to a zoo,'' said Ainsworth. "This exhibit made us come to the zoo. Humans are animals too!
''Like the rest of their caged neighbors, the humans had a variety of toys to keep them entertained - board games, music, paints, and balls.
They are being treated as animals, complete with keepers, but are allowed to go home each night at closing time.
When visitor Peter Bohn, 42, saw the "animals'' juggling, he stopped and had a good laugh."It's hilarious,'' he said. "It turns everything upside down. It makes you think about the
humans in relation to the animals.
''After three hours, Mahoney is still having fun except for when the wind picks up. But, he added, "I wouldn't do it if I didn't enjoy it.''

.html Well guys, It looks like God is finally gonna flush this toilet we
call New Orleans. I'm not even trying to act like I'm not scared
sh*tless. I lived in Miami for Andrew and this sounds worse. My Wife,
Son and Mother-in-law have left to go deep into Fla. since traffic
fleeing to Texas is insane. Me, my Father-in-law and her two brothers
are gonna try to hold the fort down here. They have a brick home not
very far from mine so once I've got my house secure, I'm gonna head
over there. We live far enough outside the city that we are not below

expect to be without power for some time after it all blows over. <.html

Well, I don't know about God having anything to do with it, but I thank the Lawgiver it wasn't worse when it went passed here a few days ago. Just a lot of wind and rain and I didn't even lose power.
I feel for you folks in New Orleans though. Think you should get far, far away. You will also probably be without power for weeks.
Hurricanes suck!
