Bill Blake is looking for
any and all ORIGINAL publicity photos/press- kit materials,
etc., from his 1970's "Meet Zira and Cornelius" live
show-tours/personal appearances, especially Bill' s 'before and
after'
photo captioned "William Blake as Cornelius" (an edited/cropped
version of which can be seen on pg. 34 of Marvel's POTA Magazine
# 12).
Those who have any of these materials (Remember, ORIGINALS ONLY,
and
in VG to Excellent Condition), please contact me at

Thanks! Jeff"

always have had plenty of new stuff coming out and have built on their original

The other major
hurdle is going to be who will organize and run the thing? You will be hard
pressed to find many (or even any!) POTA fans willing to actually do the
hard work involved.
Neil
the Star Wars & Star Trek fan club didn't have a shit load of
fans when they first started, these groups grew over the years, not just
overnight. It going to take POTA some time to get there, or maybe it
won't. Who knows, a small group could make a difference.

the movie. It just say two of the original actors from the movie and tv
series.
That's it. I think that Bill only knows that.

Here's some sales figures on the last issue of Revolution.

Honest answer, I wasn't surprised by the time the enterprise was over. It wasn't so much a lack of interest in the Apes (though that was clearly a factor) as it was a lack of
promotion and basic skills from our publisher. He was new to the business, and didn't know his way around anywhere near as well as he needed to, to launch a new series and a new company at the same time.
The lackluster Apes sales are far more to do with how Mr. Comics ran than Apes, itself. I think we could have done at least ten if we'd marketed better. (I don't think people realized this thing
was actually good, and a lot of stores didn't know the company brand, and assumed it wasn't good product). Now, we could argue whether or not ten would have been good sales. For what we were trying
to do, hell yeah. We would have made money on issue #1 with ten sales...actually decent money with anything over fifteen.

All you have to do is look at "Battle". When
Aldo threatens the humans in the corral there's a closeup of Paula Crist that
pans down to the child she's hugging.
Bill Blake had a scene playing a chimp whose
cart was stolen. It was cut from the final episode of "The
Interrogation". Jeff

I don't ever want to say the GN will never happen. Our publisher seems to want the GN, but doesn't seem to be actually working to create it. Truth is, I don't
know his plans any better than you guys, really.
I just finished up the Hoverboy project (and by the way, everybody go to www.hoverboy.com
and click on the Quicktime Video at the top of welcoming page) and will start to promote that project THIS week. If the Hoverboy thing takes off at all, there's STILL a chance that Steve will do the
APES GN and Mr. Comics will continue. If Hoverboy doesn't fly, I'm afraid that's my last hurrah with Mr. Comics.
Of course, my other pro gigs (Howard the Duck, the Avengers, the Spirit, Harvey Pekar's American Splendor, and others) are keeping me so busy, I'm not sure what time I'd have for Mr. Comics anyway.
I'm still busting proud of Revolution and Big Max (our other Ape comic) and I consider Hoverboy one of the best things I've ever worked on....so fingers crossed one last time. We're wounded, but not
gone...yet.

-- Interesting.
And how did the other Mr. Comics titles that were out at the same time as
Revolution do in comparison to it Ty?
Neil
Honest answer, I wasn't surprised by the time the enterprise was over. It
wasn't so much a lack of interest in the Apes (though that was clearly a
factor) as it was a lack of promotion and basic skills from our
publisher. He was new to the business, and didn't know his way around
anywhere near as well as he needed to, to launch a new series and a new
company at the same time.
The lackluster Apes sales are far more
to do with how Mr. Comics ran than Apes, itself. I think we could have
done at least ten if we'd marketed better. (I don't think people
realized this thing was actually good, and a lot of stores didn't know the
company brand, and assumed it wasn't good product). Now, we could argue
whether or not ten would have been good sales. For what we were trying
to do, hell yeah. We would have made money on issue #1 with ten
sales...actually decent money with anything over fifteen.

This doesn't sound
too good for the poor old mountain gorillas:
Rebels in the Democratic Republic
of Congo have taken control of large parts of the Virunga National Park, home to
rare mountain gorillas.
The move has raised fears for the fate of the
gorillas. Only 700 remain - half of which are in Virunga.
"If anything happens to the mountain gorillas now,
there is nothing we can do," said Norbert Mushenzi of the Congolese Institute
for the Conservation of Nature (ICCN).
"As of today, the sector is no longer under my
control and we have been rendered powerless by these actions."
Nine gorillas have been killed this year, allegedly
by Gen Nkunda's men, sparking outrage among conservationists.

True. You'd think with a willing actor they'd use him more,
though they did authorized the tour, and give him the costumes.

.html While I still think the distinction to POTA fandom is dubious at best,
I promised some people here that I would take pictures of the San
Francisco BART station that is integral to the TV episode. As
discussed, this is the Montgomery BART station which is the only one
near Sutter street mentioned in the episode. I've uploaded the pictures
in the Photos section (under "SF BART"). Alas, I did not go in to take
pictures of the interior as originally planned. But I'm pretty sure
there would not be any Circus Posters to be found.

history...he was featured in the Marvel
magazine...that should be enough!
** No bashing, just really saying that he doesn't know all he claims to... As far as being part of the APES history, how so? As mentioned, the guys in the UK rodeo aren't getting their due: After all, they
made live appearances too AND had a show going on while doing it...
And if being in the magazine means being part of their history, where do you draw the line? Does a one sentence blurb about APES in a TV guide count for you? Do the ADVENTURE comics in all their glory really need to
be included too?

I'm trying to remember: Were the slave ape jumpsuits in CONQUEST used in another film series before or after CONQUEST? And, what was it's title?
