Yes.

The infamous "See no Evil. Hear no Evil. Speak no Evil" scene.
Controversial at the time it was originally filmed, and then,
unfortunately, making it into the final cut. It's the kind of scene
that would be fair game for a 'deleted scene' on a modern DVD today,
but should not have been in the movie. Or at least the seriousness of
the court scenes could do without that little bit of comedy. It was
just out of place.

Right Country.
Right Province.
But still 600 Km and a 6 hour drive away.

Close but no cigar.

Sorry to hear that, Dario. I'm looking forward to seeing the original Planet movie again on the big screen on May 31 in Antioch. It's only half an hour away from my house. I will be taking two of my boys to see it. It will be my second time seeing it on the big screen. Not sure yet if I'm going to be in ape gear. I'll have to see.

And yay, I get to get into full ape regalia again this Saturday for Baycon, and try out the wig I have been working on.

Jessica.

Hi,

I recently came across my Planet of the Apes "Jail Wagon" Addar
Super Scenes kit that I picked up when it came out. It is still in good shape, although it has fallen apart. I think the glue deteriorated or something. If anyone is interested, I will post picks of this kit when I can put it back together.

It does seem a bit random.
Cameras and automatic weapons, but not electricity?
It does seem a bit arbitrary.  I know they went primitive
to save the budget for makeup. And in a post apocalyptic
society weapons would come first, but cameras?  Photography
seems like one of the links to the past that apes would consider
too human to keep.  Maybe they're like Luddites or Quakers.
they can build the mantle for the electric hater, but not the heater.
They take the kids for burgers at McDonalds in a horse & buggy.

much all of it.

what would you say are the rarest POTA items ever made?
Lets stick to regular release products for USA and UK
(we will avoid oddball foreign language items for now)

When I did the POTA Memorabilia Price Guide in 1996
out of over 1000 items I listed the POTA rings as the most valuable
they were considered quite rare before the internet came along

What do you think is really the rarest stuff out there?
How about a top 5 list !!

I’ve owned the sleeping bag – bought for $800, sold for about $400.

It is rare, but the 5 I listed have not been seen by many people.

The Stunt Cycles are from AHI.

The pistol and guns are rare too, but you do see them for sale on ebay.

      Michael

      Agreed Tim these are rare.

I have seen some of them in a collection but never on eBay.

I was at Ken Taylor's years ago looking at his collection, discussing how rare the inflatibles are.

We jumped on his computer and there they were - all 3 - for sale on eBay.

Once since then I've seen Urko.

Ken bought 2 and I bought 1 (think it was the chimp).

Not sure but I think Mattel made these....?

      Rare, but not very desirable.

Also, someone cast these and sold repros, without mentioning they were repros. Are these called TUSCANNY statues?

You can see these advertised with the Belt Buckles in the Curtis Mags.

Same pisc just a round, smaller cast.

      Not sure about the characters...

I know Joe Ape (what's his name - waycoolstuff?) had all these.

I walked past this (and the kites) for many, many years at the local Big W store.

There were some things I too thought were not buying even if they sported the POTA logo!

I have never seen the Stain Glass Kit anywhere for sale or a picture of it since. There's a BOOK on collectibles maybe it's in there.... ;)

I've got a Zaius cycle.  I don't/didn't know there were 2 kinds.  Mine came with a little battery charger.  You placed the bikes tail pipes on it and it took off.  I have the package from the Cornelius lollipop. Someone or something got the candy years ago.  I have the fanner gun that came with the mask.  I have ALL the ape character mix n mold molds.  I kept the packaging for most of the stuff, but took the items out.  I was never gonna sell it and thought the packaging was/is ugly.  But kept it anyways.  I can take pics of the items if you'd like.

Based on your personal experience, collecting or knowledge
what would you say are the rarest POTA items ever made?
Lets stick to regular release products for USA and UK
(we will avoid oddball foreign language items for now)

When I did the POTA Memorabilia Price Guide in 1996
out of over 1000 items I listed the POTA rings as the most valuable
they were considered quite rare before the internet came along

What do you think is really the rarest stuff out there?
      How about a top 5 list !!

Mainly rare because GUN collectors want them as bad as POTA collectors and as far as toy guns go they are WAY cool!

I have seen and touched all of them - mint in box! The larger guns' boxes do perish very rapidly and it would be near impossible toget a clean one...

I do have a photo somewhere - I seem to recall it's a close up of Galen's head.

It's rather generic - it's a standard drum kit but the face of the bass drum has the image on it.

Again the durability of these plastics lend to the rarity of survivors.

All these inflatibles are BIG dollars and hard to find.

I do have a photo somewhere - I seem to recall it's a close up of Galen's head.

It's rather generic - it's a standard drum kit but the face of the bass drum has the image on it.

Not sure about the characters.. .

I know Joe Ape (what's his name - waycoolstuff? ) had all these.

I walked past this (and the kites) for many, many years at the local Big W store.

There were some things I too thought were not buying even if they sported the POTA logo!

I have never seen the Stain Glass Kit anywhere for sale or a picture of it since. There's a BOOK on collectibles maybe it's in there.... ;)

I gave 2 of mine to Ken Taylor.

I got mine at the Brisbane Exhibition as a kid of 12 because my Megos were bust and my mom got them all for me.

I kept the header cards for them too, they came in plastic bags with card headers - I'll dig them up one day!

They were AHI I think because they couldn't get the rights from Mego?

I was at Ken Taylor's years ago looking at his collection, discussing how rare the inflatibles are.

We jumped on his computer and there they were - all 3 - for sale on eBay.

Once since then I've seen Urko.

Ken bought 2 and I bought 1 (think it was the chimp).

Not sure but I think Mattel made these....?

      Very cool!

Hey – Ken Taylor bought the swimming pool and a whole bunch of other SUPER rares and had them sent to Fox in the USA, care of Ken Taylor, so he could pick them up on a trip to the US (when he used to work for Aus Fox Home Entertainment)>  Anyway – THEY LOST THE PACKAGE!

It has not been located to this day…

Again the durability of these plastics lend to the rarity of survivors.

All these inflatibles are BIG dollars and hard to find.

I was at Ken Taylor's years ago looking at his collection, discussing how rare the inflatibles are.

We jumped on his computer and there they were - all 3 - for sale on eBay.

Again the durability of these plastics lend to the rarity of survivors.

All these inflatibles are BIG dollars and hard to find.

Again the durability of these plastics lend to the rarity of survivors.

All these inflatibles are BIG dollars and hard to find.

No – just wondering if anyone ever went through them hoping there might be.

      Hey,

Did anyone ever keep looking for a POTA version?

Anyone know more about Joe?  Like how to find him?

He was always THE authority on collectible POTA.  He did charge an absolute FORTUNE but he did have LOTS and mostly all MINT.

I know people used to have to wear gloves to look at his collection.

He used to be known as Ape Joe or Joe Ape or something.

      No.

He went through a sort of mid-life crisis and decided he wasn’t happy being the boss of 20th Century Fox HE in Australia .

I told him he was insane, but he walked out of a high paying job.

After about 6 months he was forced to sell up his apes.

Most went to private collectors, the remainder went on eBay.

I got the feeling he was too damaged by having to sell up so I have not kept in touch.

He removed himself from both groups and if he’s on the DG it’s with a fake name.

Hey is Ken Taylor on any of these yahoogroups?

I haven't talked to him in years!!
