The USC School of Cinematic Arts partnered with 20th Century Fox Film to host an exclusive exhibit and retrospective celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Planet of the Apes franchise titled 50 Years of Planet of the Apes. The exhibit featured a vast collection of props, costumes, photos, posters and artwork from across all iterations of the longstanding franchise in the Hugh Hefner Exhibition Hall at USC. 50 Years of Planet of the Apes was funded by USC Visions & Voices: The Arts and Humanities Initiative.
This was my favorite part of the exhibit. Not just because of the amazing costumes, but also because I still have that very trashcan in my office.
Life-size bust used as a photo reference during filming (apologies for the reflections).
Thade (Tim Roth) costume from Planet of the Apes (2001) (again, apologies for the reflections).
Attar (Michael Clark Duncan) costume from Planet of the Apes (2001).
Chimp costumes from Planet of the Apes (2001).
Make-up molds and prosthetics from the classic series.
Chess board and pieces from Dawn of the Planet of the Apes
Tool and weapon props used in the new series.
A selection of toys, games, and action figures from over the years.
Autographed poster from the exhibit. Amazing to be included in such great company!
YouTuber Romina provided an excellent video tour of the exhibit.
