It was really tough getting some shading on those white robes without making them look dirty. The marble effect was all hand-painted using a feather instead of a brush. The supplied control panel was replaced with clear acyclic rods and sheeting cut to size. The jewelled control knobs were pieces of coloured rock candy!

It doesn't show in the pictures too well, but there's a light source under the controls and a battery pack hidden in the base to make the panel light up.

It's great to have a kit from the Apes movies that isn't an ape for once!
