When Zaius's new assistant, Galen, unwittingly foils Urko's plot to kill the two men and they escape, he is charged with murder and treason. The trio are hot on the trail of a computer that might answer their questions when Virdon is captured. Zaius tries to trick him into revealing the location of Burke and Galen with the help of a woman and a boy who resemble Virdon's wife and son. A blind chimp, who hates all humans because humans allegedly murdered her father, is duped into believing Burke is an ape and falls in love with him. Meanwhile, Virdon and Galen attempt to subvert the local ape chapter of the KKK. To save the son of a blacksmith, Virdon gets roped into riding Prefect Barlow's horse in a race. Galen then learns they're racing against Urko...who isn't opposed to rigging things so he never loses. [Split into two parts -- lotsa shots!]
