Let's get right to the point.

I am looking for positive motivated people that
want and need to make a minimum of 10k per month.

Do you have a burning desire to change the quality
    of your existing life?

Would you like to live the life that others only dream about?

If you think this is to good to be true or are skeptical
then this may not be for you... Many have been conditioned
to believe it must be illegal, immoral or unethical to ever
earn any real profits from our efforts.

The fact is we have many people in our enterprise that earn
over 50k per month from the privacy of their own home and
are retiring in 2-3 years obviously wealthy and having total
    freedom both personal and financial.

    How would you like to:
    1. Drastically reduce personal, business and capital gains taxes?
    2. Protect all assets from any form of seizure, liens, or judgments?
    3. Create a six figure income every 4 months?
    How about:
    1. Restoring and preserving complete personal and financial privacy?
    2. Create and amass personal wealth, multiply it and protect it?
    3. Realize a 3 to 6 times greater returns on your money?
    4. Legally make yourself and your assets completely judgment-proof,
    seizure-proof, lien-proof, divorce-proof, attorney-proof, IRS-proof,
    and become completely insulated?

Are you a BIG thinker, BIG dreamer and a person that believes they
deserve to have the best in life?

Are you capable of recognizing that once in a lifetime opportunity
when it's looking right at you?

Countless others have missed their shot at the title only to look back
years later and wished they should've because they could've.

If you are serious about changing your life...

Did anyone catch the episode of Fox's "Futurama" a few weeks back when
the gang is in the underground city of mutants searching for their pet
and while being given a tour of the city, they're shown a certain
Cathedral with an atomic bomb inside it?

Interestingly enough, the shot of the Altar was an exact replica of the
set from Beneath- the only difference was that the lettering on the bomb
was on the right fin (as you face it) as opposed to the left, and the
lettering was reversed (Omega Alpha). Aside from one of Dennis Miller's
stand-up HBO specials, this is the only time I've seen "Beneath" used as
a pop culture reference. Long overdue if you ask me.

It's worth watching (not a game, more a shockwave
video). My little boys watched it and thought it was
funny. They downloaded to their computer and spent
the evening laughing their heads off. :-)

You don't have to download it. Pick the *.exe file if
you want to download. The other file you can run
right off the web (it's Shockwave).

      .html
In case everyone hasn't heard the latest, Tim Burton has brought the
Academy Award winning costume design team and production designers from
Sleepy Hollow to head up their respected departments on the new Planet of
      the Apes film.

For the longest time though, the really big question has been who would be
      responsible for picking up the make-up design where John Chambers left off;
Stan Winston or Rick Baker. Hold onto your hats folks, cuz Rick (King Kong
'76, Greystoke, Incredible Shrinking Woman, Gorillas in the Mist, Mighty
Joe Young) Baker and his team have got the gig!!! And we all know how
convincing Mr. Baker's apes have been throughout the years.

Good luck to everyone involved on the remake project! We anxiously await!

Actually, there have been four or five Apes references in the first season
of "Futurama." The first episode had them going underground into a
"Beneath" like world, at least for a moment . . . Personally, I think it's
one of the best shows on TV. Too bad that Fox has it on at 7pm here in
      NYC.....

      check it out, ape fans!

I have just read on a newsgroup (haven't managed to confirm it yet) that
comic artist Alfredo Alcala passed away on the 8th April, aged 74, of
cancer. He was one of the many Filipino artists who made such a great impact
on the American comics of the 70s (along with Nestor Redondo, Alex Nino,
Ernie Chan, Tony DeZuniga, Rudy Nebres and many more). Although he worked on
such well known characters as Conan the Barbarian and Batman, he is known to
apefans as the artist responsible for Marvel's adaptations of "Beneath" and
"Conquest" as well as a couple of other miscellaneous chapters for the 70s
PotA mag. An excellent artist whether working on his own or inking others,
and verstile too (he was equally adept at a humourous style, used in such
      publications as DC's "Plop!").

        >ALFREDO ALCALA DIES AT 74

        >Comics penciler/inker Alfredo Alcala died from cancer on Saturday, April 9.
        >Born in the Philippines, Alcala wrote and drew his own line of comic books
        >before working for American comics publishers. DC first utilized Alcala's
        >talents in its horror and war comics like GHOSTS, UNEXPECTED, and WEIRD WAR
        >TALES before moving on to titles like ALL-STAR SQUADRON, Savage Sword of
        >Conan, BATMAN, SWAMP THING and countless others for both DC and Marvel.
        >
        >Alcala's lines were graceful and moody, and his heavily-textured style
        >connected him to a long line of master illustrators throughout history.
        >Regardless of the industry legends of his 40 completed-pages-a-week output,
        >his work maintained a dynamism and fluid motion perfectly suited to

As I mentioned in my previous message, Alfredo was of course responsible for
a large part of Marvel's Planet of the Apes output, including the whole
        adaptations of Beneath and Conquest.

        Hey everybody,

Anyone ever hear of the band Fatso Jetson? Neither had I, until today.
I was walking through this really big, cool music store I've never been to
before, and suddenly a bad drawing of Dr. Zaius caught my eye. On the front
of one of their cd's, their's a big, raw cartoon drawing of Dr. Zaius. I
flipped it over and found two chimps drawings, pretty crude, but I'm
guessing it was suppose to be Cornelius and Zira. Inside, there was a
decent drawing of the ships clock, reading Earth's date and all that, in the
3000's. There was no mention of POTA though anywhere in it though. Anybody
ever hear of the band, or have any idea why some bad, unpopular rap group
randomly put drawings of POTA characters up without any explanation?

        RE: Apes on album covers.

A good explanation for why the CD company was using POTA images on it's products
might be that statistically anytime a publisher, whether it be for books,
magazines, cereal boxes, or whatever, ...puts an image of an ape on it's
product, sales go up. WAY UP! This has been a fact since the old pulp magazine
publishers figured it out way back when. "Put an ape on the cover and we'll
double the sales!" People are fascinated with apes and monkeys.

Case in point, our Webgroup friend who stopped to investigate the CD in his
local store. Apes are attention-getters, and good advertisers know that.

        Just another opinion,

The guy w/ the lobster claws ( don't know his name) wanted to see "Planet of the

The poster featured his species being chased on the beach by clams on horseback.

Perhaps you have a serial/code number for them?

Try "Minotaur.com.au" or "Civicvideo.com.au" and e-mail to request to purchase the

They are advertising the two sets for $59.95 ( 22.44 pounds) each. You would have to

They were released about 3 weeks ago and they are fantastic!

They contain all episodes in sequential order.

Here is a link to a scan I did of a press release and also the 2 spines of
the outer boxes showing the episode titles.

I am currently auctioning this on Ebay. I am more than happy to buy the
tapes and send them to you at cost price for fans (about $90US) who can play
the tapes on a multi-system player (these are in PAL system which also plays
on the European SECAM system but not on the US NTSC system).

Thanks to our Ozzy apefans for the information on the TV series box sets. I
was pleased to see them, being in PAL format, but I was a bit worried after
not hearing anything more about them. I'll look into ordering them from
somewhere in Oz in the near future (haven't looked at e-bay, but I dread to
think what sort of prices people are hiking them up to!). Anyway, Ken and
        Michael, thanks for the info.

I've heard it on the radio before, and it sounds like it was recorded
late 60's/early 70's. I'm guessing it was featured in the original film,
but I've never see it so I can't say for sure. The singer (almost) sounds

Hell yeah, considering that SNL should've been cancelled about 10 years
        ago.

Nightstand with Dick Dietrick was great too, and that got cancelled. Just
goes to show you that quality programming usually doesn't last long.

Broyles POTA script is a youthified version of the story with
word that the lead is a 25-year old."

How does everyone feel about the youthful approach to this
movie? In particular, what are the odds of a 25 year old astronaut

I'd prefer it not to be "youthful," however, I will be happy if
they make it different enough from the original so that it does
not just become a "remake." The original is just too good, there
is no reason for a remake. We just want MORE APE FILMS!
Perhaps a more "youthful" version will aide in making it enough
of a new film so that us die hards don't say, "Oh man, I prefered
the original!" (remember when Star Trek Next Generation came
out and you felt a little awkward because you loved Star Trek
but were unsure if you could enjoy watching a new crew going

pandering to demographics. Just write a good, interesting story with
characters you care about, get a solid, capable director, crew & actors and
things should work out. Keep the damn corporate suits out of it! "What will

I'm not sure I like the idea. Although I'm only 23 myself, it seems that by
specifically going for a "youthful" look, hearing a 25-year old complaining
about humanity will sound more pretentious than cynical.

I believe it's possible that we'll see some new fiction based on the
apes mythos after the new movie is released. However, I'm sure it
will be based on how successful the movie is. I'd be interested in
seeing some stories that help fill in the gaps between the movies.

The "youthful approach" of this new movie really worries me. I will
be VERY interested in the casting when it's made available.

        Thanks,

I took it as being said in a kind of (genuine) cynical, sarcastic manner.
This was right after the young ape (I'm bad with names) was saying some
things about the "older generation wanting to keep us down." Yes, I'm
paraphrasing. I don't know how well that line would come across in a
"youthful" Planet of the Apes. I just can't get Leonardo DiCaprio out of my
        head.

Yep, the whole idea sounds totally crap. I can just imagine, apes being
"cool" and using bizarre meaningless phrases like "my bad". And I'm only 22.

However, I would think (and hope) that with Tim Burton at the helm we'll get
something a bit more different. Well actually, I would hope that they just
don't remake it at all but that's me.

You see the clock, and while I can't recall if what it says matches up with
what they say it later, I always under the understanding it WAS 3955. Plus,
when Cornelius, Milo, and Zira land back on Earth in "Escape", she says that
they came from the year "3950 . . . something" Her exact words. She couldn't
        remember the exact year.

Could just as easily be a Rick Baker design. It looks very much like his
realistic apes from various movies. "Greystoke" comes immediately to mind.

So, Taylor's clock fixed itself at the bottom of the sea? Feh! More
goofs. Beneath and Escape shared a screenwriter, so he remembered the
year HE wrote. In Battle, Caesar runs around saying "In the year 3950,
        apes will destroy the earth!"

Another timeline problem. Since he was "in negotiations" only last
week, that's a bit soon to design, sculpt, mold, cast, paint, and dress
        it with hair . . .

I've heard Rick Baker was a candidate for quite a while. If he knew he was
up for it, I don't think it would be such a stretch for him to come up with
some preliminary designs prior to negotions.

The same artists float back and forth between the two studios, folks. Chances
are a few of the artists that prototyped stuff for Stan in 94, will be working
for Rick on the new movie.

I did say /*about*/ a century. Give or take twenty years. I can just imagine
someone (human, ape or otherwise) really laughing at this discussion in.. Now
        what was the year...

The way I see it, the period after 3865 was a period of decline, a new kind of
dark ages - superstition, fear. Lots of Borgias mentality, with Inquisitions
thrown in for good measure. But just before was a good period, time for a few
adventurous sorts (forbidden zone aside) to chase after cities mentioned in
ancient books (of the human variety - before they were kept completely under
wraps by the ruling class. Paranoia, of all kinds, and on all sides informs much
        of the original POTA film).

Trouble was, they didn't find their destiny - quite the reverse, in fact.

But, there I go, revealing the plot. And its filmed in the best possible taste.

In '94 or '95 Stan's studio was paid an R&D fee to prototype apes for 3 months. At
the same time Rick was prototyping, on his own financing, with the notion and I
quote it as I heard it "that when production REALLY get's serious about making this
film, he'd show them his designs". Guess it paid off.

More than likely, the eBay item is from Stan's, but one never knows. Has anyone
asked the seller where it came from? Chances are they won't tell. And there's
always the chance that the item is stolen, as stuff tends to disappear from labs
all the time. I'd ask the seller for more info. As a matter of fact, I'll do it
        now.

3955 is the most consistently referred to date. It was in both BENEATH
and ESCAPE, and also (sort of) in BATTLE when Caesar, Virgil, and
MacDonald were watching the tapes in the dead city. Zira's
"3950...something" from ESCAPE became "3950" in BATTLE because of a sound
edit made during the post-production of BATTLE.

And if you're willing to accept that Taylor's ship was salvaged and made
useable again, it's not much of a stretch to figure that the chronometer
corrected itself (underwater or not). Hell, it could have been damaged
BECAUSE it was in the water. Once Dr. Milo salvaged the ship, you could
reasonable presume that things started working properly again.

Heck, they didn't think we would be freeze-framing and rewinding our VCRs
30 years later to get the dates. I just assume the astronauts were
        using crappy
70's technology and both clocks were off a bit. After all, Hasslein's
        Theory was
not perfected...otherwise it would have been "Hasslein's Law." There's
        no telling
how this could have effected the computer's chronometers & systems.

Look at the track record from movies and T.V. shows: We have a total of
        2 crashes,
3 uncontrolled splashdowns and 2 dead astronauts (directly related to
        the ship).
It's a wonder anything worked on those ships. Just my opinion though...

Following on from Hasslein, the timeline could and need not end with the end of
Beneath. Remember, there are many alternate futures emanating from the same
instant in time. I rather like the one where the AlphaOmega bomb is not
        detonated by Taylor.

I have also wondered (as the chain reaction effect is no longer a certainty)
whether Escape is also the end. I often wonder if Hasslein knew far more than
we are led to believe - how about apes from 4000+ AD turning up in pre 70's
planet earth, and so Prof. Hasslein decided to put a stop to it with the icarus
        mission.

In any case, the timeline can be reopened at any point.

What fascinating futures we can weave upon the thread of time,
A tapestry of empires, battles and decline....

Well said. What if Apes from 4000+ did visit the past?

Consider this amusing example: What if a ship from 4000+ ended
up in the past and crashed at Roswell? That could explain where the
technology came from for the Icarus as well as Hasslein's theory. It would
also be amusing to find out that the fabled "hieroglyphics" from the Roswell
wreckage was actually Ape script. Talk about some strange possibilities!

It's a wonder anything worked on those ships. Just my opinion though...

I figure they're going to ignore the original movies and make this
a "stand-alone" feature. They've never confirmed if it would tie in
to the POTA timeline or not. Nor do I believe it will be a remake of
the original movie. I guess we'll hear more in the coming months
as the parts are cast and production begins. Has anybody heard
        any new rumors?

I guess that depends which time line you are working on - you really need to
        re-read Hasslein's theory!

Seriously though, I'm not sure if it was 80's or 90's but it was definitely
LAST Millennium so we have passed it (the script writers probably thought
we'd definitely be post apocalypse by now and not notice!!!). I thought it
was lame how the dogs and cats story evolved instead of allowing the apes to
        have out - evolved us.......

I think that there's a scene with the statue, that's like a memorial, of a
cat & dog. I think there's a date on it. Sometime in the "90's.

I did too, so my novel has a rather different take on that reason, one that is
a very real result of the latest scientific developments.

Today's USA Today has an article on Rick Baker's ape designs for the
        new movie.

Thanks for the heads up on the Baker article in USA Today. It sounds like
they're really going through with it this time. Like the bit about giving the
female lead sex appeal. (I assume he's talking about the ape female lead) I
just hope they have a Nova-esque female human lead. Now that's sex appeal!
"Leave her alone, damn you! Where are you taking her!?!"
