About 5 minutes before the big battle (which almost but not quite ends the movie) Taylor sees a statue of Proteus (the Ape Messiah). The statue is identical to the Lincoln Memorial, only with an ape head.

Again he quotes reports from the internet.

Yet he gives no qoutes from the film, and gives no details outside of what's on the trailer and pics on the net.

 

I just hope 20th Century Fox takes this film jerk to court and takes him for evey sent he's got! Does anyone here have an e-mail to FOX?

Hell, I'll report this film jerk myself.

I went to an advance screening of "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back", the new
Kevin Smith movie that concludes his "New Jersey cycle" ("Clerks",
"Mallrats", "Chasing Amy", "Dogma"). I mentioned last January that I was
there when they filmed an "Apes" parody. The stuff I saw (a parody of "The
hunt" ) is butchered in the cut I saw, but there's other stuff (including a
parody of the famous ending) that also goes by too fast. The movie itself is
funny at times (there's a scene where the gang from "Scooby Doo" get stoned)
but not funny enough. It's a cross between "Up In Smoke" and "Pee Wee's Big
Adventure" (there's a big movie studio finale). On the set I'd asked Kevin
what he thought of "Planet of the Apes" and he said he "loved" it. At the
time the first teaser poster was out and he said he was impressed with it
and thought Burton might do well with the movie. Anyway, it's more publicity
for "Apes". I believe the movie comes out Aug.

to be sarcastic by asking it that way....I myself would like it if they
did,so it'd be wishful thinking on my part too...But if you do have any idea
of if this is actually planned by Hasbro,I'll write them and call them
too,because I'd like to see another set of them.

But if they did another set,I'd say do a removable mask Mutant,another

 I opened the Attar figure I got today (was I supposed to do that?). I'd say they are the same quality as the previous "classic Apes" figures from Hasbro a few years back. I'm interested in seeing the 12 " Attar, but I don't see the point in the other 2 being humans. I saw AI last night and got to see the POTA trailer.
The suspense is killing me. THAT was the movie I *wanted* to be

I'm sure they are, Pepsi is an international product and so is the Apes release. According to a Japanese seller on e-bay the first can has appeared on the market shelves: ATTAR. And that's it, so there may be an official release date coming soon.

 

I just can't get over how delayed they are on everything, and less than 30 days left!!?

 

If this movie flops, the fault will be in part for Fox hiring a bunch of babboons to run their advertising department. This is really getting stupid.

Fox did this Pepsi promotion thing with "Star Wars: Episode 1". The Japanese got the bottle toppers, we just got the cans. Usually "Pepsi" includes it's restaurants like KFC, "Taco Bell" and "Pizza Hut", but I know they don't have "Apes" tie-ins (Taco Bell is doing "Tomb Raider", the silly gooses). Yeah I did see that, perhaps they have to wait until the promo for Tomb Raider is over before releasing the Apes. That would only make sence seeing that both films were made by to different studios. (conflict in interest)

So we'll still have to see, because while there is a promo with Tomb Raider, there are no images at all on the cans.

 

Let's hope for the best as well as common promotional sence on Fox's part.

Hell, Japan can keep the Tops, Let's just get this movie advertised!

IT WAS INCREDIBLE!! Easily better than the previous two trailers combined!!

There were new shots of Leo's pod spinning out in space, new lines, new shots of the apes charging (on all 4s too!!) and TONS of other neat stuff! It was pretty long to, I have nothing really to base it on, but it sure seemed to last more than 30 seconds!!

The bad news is, I have one of the crappiest tvs in my room, and when I ran up to turn the volume full blast, the video wire cut loose, and then the audio. I had my nose against the sreen and my hand in the back screwin' around with all the wires! I almost had a panic attack!!

Needless to say I don't have it on tape, and I technically haven't even seen/heard the whole thing!!!

AHHHHHHHHH!!!

Having worked with Rick Baker on film projects in the past and sharing his love for apes (mine leaning heavily towards Planet of the Apes characters, his leaning toward real life simians)  I'd have to say I'd love to have developed a Mandrill type character for the new film.

Back in 1990 when Adam Rifkin was involved with the first incarnation of the Apes re-make idea, I did a handfull of designs based on Mandrills, Baboons, and Gibbons.  Really fun stuff.

As far as what planet I'd like to crash-land on?  Is there a Brittney Spears planet?  How about a Claudia Schiffer Moon?  Ruth Buzzi asteroid?

stuntman,because he was always getting whupped on by the astronauts (unless
he had a stuntman too).Does anyone know if he was/is a trained stuntman,or if
he had a stand-in on the show too?Also,does anyone know his whereabouts
today,like does he ever do those conventions/shows?

of lame compared to the models, and there is no comparison to the Medicom's.

Back on the list after a long hiatus, and it's good to see the list is as

I have to agree.  I enjoy that fact that it almost seems as if we do not
exist.  Just take comfort in the fact that we're out there.  I wonder what
they'll think of us after the new film is out.  Will the old fans be

Not at all, If she is already know to Ari's family when visiting at supper time as is in the trailer and script. No introductions would be needed. So no names are given.

 

Perhaps she's named Nova, but the name would never be spoken in the film.

As was with the Mutants in Beneath.

But wasn't that more due to the editing room than by original design? During her Apes mailing list chat, I remember Natalie Trundy saying that while filming they referred to each other by character names.

But aside from the geography lesson, I can't believe how naive this guy is to think that no Australians would be on the group that wouldn't expose him as a cheat. You have to give him 'A' for initiative but as I know the girl who co-ordinates the Australian Fox web site, I'll be passing his name along with a copy of his initial email to the group.
