I'm sure it's because he's still working on the site. Because this is one
site I've never seen linked by any ohter POTA Site, nor has appeared on any
search engine.
But I'll ask him about it and tell him your interested just as soon as I
finish our trasaction.

Best.

Michael asked me to pass word on to the group that he has been unable

Now you know what my minor problems were.
Damn, Yahoo. Ever since they took over this e-group site. Things have never
been the same. I was completely cut off, and had to rejoin the group.

It took me a while to return because I was still dealing with my DVD bugs.
And while I no longer have the problem, I now have to recapture all video
for DVD burn. That's why it's going to take a little bit longer with toons
and Jeff's stuff.

Best.

Sorry about that "Conquest" Uncut reference, folks. The real reason Alex
has been MIA is because he's been dealing with his problem with
hallucinogenics. As we know, "Conquest" Uncut is just a myth.
No, I didn't see the T3 trailer. Yes, it's coming. Come on, baby! Ah-nold
needs a new pair of planes. Etc. - - - Jeff

Ohmygod! Alex has taken over Michael's soul. That's why he can e-mail now
and Michael can't. That has to be the reason! Is it just coincidence that
suddenly Alex is back? I don't believe in coincidence. Let's analyse this.

Hey, Jeff.
Check this out!

Some moron who bought www.prophecysite.com domain name (after I dumbed it)
now wants $400.00 for my created domain name.

I found this through www.fanmadetrailers.com looking at my old Planet of the
Apes Music Videos. The links from my Music Videos lead me back to
www.prophecysite.com and look at what found!

Now who the hell would want to buy that? Someone must think I want it back.
bwaaaaa hahahahaha!! This is too funny! What a moron.

Some people just don't understand. It's not the domian name, baby! It's the
one behind the domain name that creates the site!
bwaaaaaa hahahahaha!

What a moron. Now I've seen everything! :o)
Wow, www.prophecysite.com for $400.00?
Now someone must really think I'm important!
I AM HONORED MAN, REALLY!

Best, and enjoy the laugh! :o)

Well, if I did. I may endup with a percentage of nothing, because that's all

Yeah, I wasn't getting anything through with calima5021 for some reason or
other (maybe that was the problem with my Yahoo account, the e-mail,
although it's working fine everywhere else), I had to recreate a new e-mail
address for the group. So for the group and personal use now it's thaderules
(first thing that came to mind, thinking of July 27th, which is today) but
my calima5021 address is still there but only now for E-Bay Auctions.

I just saw one the other night on Conan Obrian. He had an 'expert' on the
show that was talking about the asteroid that could hit Earth in 2019.

Expert - "If this asteroid hits Earth, a cloud of dust ye high" -Shows ruins
of Statue of Liberty- "will black out the sun and let a race of super
intelligent talking Apes take over the world."
Conan - "So it will be a Planet of the Apes."
Expert - "Yes, it will be. The apes would then call themselves names like
Mr. Zaius."
Conan - ".......Don't you mean DR. Zaius?"
Expert - "Yes, I suppose if they had some sort of Ape college they-"
Conan - "You're an idiot."

It was very funny. Conan usually has some good PotA spoofs occasionaly.

*** I got an SFMA one, the Monsters In Motion one, and the Skyhooks.
It would be nice if REVELL would put out a version, preferably a
larger one with more accurate interior detail (the hibernacula, etc.).
It's too bad that Bill Creber didn't have extremely detailed interior
blueprints drawn up (or did he?), because the blueprints drawn up by
Jim Key (for a Sci-Fi model makers magazine)--although nice--are not
as accurate as they could be.

There are too many Simpsons PotA references/spoofs to mention them all
here, so I'll pick another one that nobody else seems to have
mentioned yet. In one episode, Springfield's children are all busy
playing in the park when their parents arrive to take them to church.
There then follows a fantastic chase sequence which re-enacts the hunt
scene from Planet perfectly.

I imagine we probably will before too long - they have already
produced lots of action figures based on specific episodes and since
the PotA parody is quite popular I imagine we'll probably see them
eventually - Troy in spacesuit accompanied by Zaius, at least.

Dark Horse Comics already brought out a set of their "pop-out people"
based on this episode - see attached pics.

In the episode you speak of, when they are getting chased, they play music from the cornfield chase in the movie.

It's been a while since I last saw it but I think you're right, it was
just a sound-a-like piece of music, as they often do when spoofing a
movie or similar. I think they've actually re-used the music on
    occasion though.

The SFMA ones are just the basic ship, the Skyhook one is the sinking ship (it's only about seven inches long, and the kit is just two piece, ship and water base), the Monters in Motion one is the most elaborate so far.  It's 13 inches long and is several pieces including a water base that includes a small butte that the model rests on as if it were crashing into the water.  The interior could have been better detailed.  It has a removable escape hatch, but no tunnel leading into the interior.  One thing about it that annoyed me was that the nose cone piece didn't fit right and I had to spead many hours filling it down, but that's part of making models I guess.  Also, the American flag decals are too small and there's only two of them.  There should be four; there are American flags on the underside of the stabilizers.

Yeah but DVD's are cheaper to produce than Laserdiscs with a far
greater market. Plus this gives them a chance to double-dip as they
say. Get everyone to shell out bucks for the DVD without extras then
bring out a 5 star edition a few years later. Paramount is doing it
with the Star Trek films and I'm sure Fox won't miss out on the
chance to squeeze out every dime they can from the original films.

Yeah, I used to think he was just Ebert's chump boy but now I know! He has

They mentioned it in the same breathe as the Bruce Lee and Alien specials,
right? I think "Behind the POTA" did well for them and they are planning
another one. I already predicted it, it'll be about the "lost" footage and

I remember that show - voiced by that guy from Babylon 5, if I
remember correctly. Didn't they have one episode that was more or less
a spoof of Planet of the Apes? Something to do with evolution of apes

Even though I'm sure I'll never receive any type of reply from them, I'll keep writing and requesting anyway. I mean it's probably falling upon deaf ears, but we have to write in and let Fox know what we'd like to see released... So, here again are the addresses for Fox that I know of (the third one is one I ran across in my old notebook... Probably very useless, but worth trying anyway...)

Well, I haven't gotten my stinking paws on it yet, but I expect it this
week. I'll keep you all informed on that. According to, Matt. The original
version ends when Caesar Says "...and that day is upon you, NOW!" End of
movie. The Bull$hit ending, as it was well put, is simple what Caesar says
after that. But we would never have had. "Tonight we have seen the birth of
the Planet of the Apes!" If it wasn't for the Bull$hit ending. So it's a
good thing they did place it in. It's a great moment in the film in my
      opinion.

So for completeness sake, Matt left it in. So what too expect will be, the
full original movie before release, the original score including all deleted
scenes, and the Bull$hit ending for completeness sake.

So all I need is a great quality Tape to make one great DVD.
I can't wait to see this.

      Best.

It's not what you think.  It's the regular movie with the original score remixed into it.  A fan has done it.  For some reason it runs a little longer than the original (probably some shots are run twice).  So, no, we don't get the preview ending.

I'm the one making a DVD out of it. Only for this e-group, as all DVDs will

I'd love to know where the hell this came from.

Was it a transfer Fox did for a DVD release then canned the idea?
Has someone copied the original to tape then done a DVD transfer?

      We may never know.

None the less, I don't think this version of Conquest has ever been
available (even on bootleg) before, has it?

So far, I have written to the first two addresses (and received no replies of course).

Yes, it is a tape.  I'll be interested in getting a DVD copy (sorry I wasn't in a good place to get that BATTLE DVD) of it no matter.  Seeing it with all the original score put back the way the composer intended will be interesting.

I do believe that Fox must still have the first preview cut of CONQUEST.  It's just being held back so we can pay for it later.  You know Fox.

No, I miss-typed.  It's a tape, but from what I've been told by a certain nameless one it's something a huge POTA fan has done himself.  My ibfo could be wrong, so we'll see.  But don't expect J. Lee Thompson's director's cut (I think).

Did you happen to mention to them that the uncut original release of
Conquest is doing well on the bootleg market?  This could shake them!

      Whitty,

To answer your question, NO... I made no such comments to them about anything like that... I simply requested a 5 Star version of Planet with commentary by surviving cast & crew, all theatrical / television trailers, and adding in the deleted scenes...

Same for Beneath & Escape: Added scenes, all theatrical / television trailers, and cast & crew commentary...

Conquest: A special edition "Directors Cut" with commentary by Thompson, (as well as cast & crew comments.) This edition should include all deleted scenes, theatrical & tv trailers, etc...

Battle: I more or less requested they release the version they released on the Japanese laser disc ("Bomb" footage, etc..) and also include any additional cut scenes, all trailers, and cast & crew commentary...

Plus I threw in a request for them to release Return to the Planet of the Apes as on DVD as well...

Hopefully "something" will come out of our writing in to them... (I hope others are writing to them too...)

We'll know this week. But he claims extra violence and Alex compared shots shown in his add and they're different angles from the movie or "Behind" doc. He claims it's the uncut version; if it's not true that's false advertising. And this is Sotis, not some fly-by-nighter. Etc.                       - - - Jeff

Don't know. Probably it's the fan thing Rory mentioned, but that's not how

After seeing, Austin Powers Goldmember, I see what everyone means.
Overall I thoght the story line was pretty good, especially the revelation
on Dr. Evil in the end as well as the touching moment, that was pretty
funny. But I thought there was way too much singing and dancing in the film
and taking too light of it all. And while there was many original funny
moments in the film, a lot of jokes used in the past Austin Powers films
where way over done, making it look, way too corny.

I thought the joke said by Dr. Evil. "This is my submarine, it's long and
hard and full of seamen." Was totaly wack! And really original. That was
      funny. :o)

      Best.
      Al

I've never seen those, but I have seen the one called 'Planet of the Vancome
Ladies'. That was a spoof of Beneath.
