Also, when they were riding horses along the river before they

Thanks, Mike! I didn't know any of that. Very interesting.

The map he shows you is hard to read, but I've been to the spot where
the ship sinking was shot and swam there. It's at a site on the lake
known as "The Crossing of the Fathers."
I'm trying to figure out how one goes about posting those little bits
of info on Google Earth, as I could mark every spot the movie was
filmed at.

.html Oh my god! Thanks so much for this!
I'm sure this is the music that was performed as
"Planet of the Apes: Live" at the Woodbridge Center
Mall in New Jersey. That's what I remember it being
called, anyway -- if it was 1974 I would have been 4
years old.
My main memory of the event is that it was hosted by
someone in a chimp costume who sang a song with the
line, "There is a planet of the apes..." This *must*
be the same song that's on "A Musical Trip"! (I
haven't listened to all of it, but I've always
recalled the line "There is a planet of the apes"
rhyming with something about "every human quakes."
There must have been other songs, too, but I don't
remember them.
My only other memory of the show is that a gorilla (it
must have been Urko) appeared at some point, got angry
at "you humans!" -- the kids in the audience, all
sitting on the floor -- and runs from the stage into
the crowd of seated kids, making them scatter. I'm
sure I ran, too, but I remember the gorilla having his
back to me, and I tried to hit him with my fist! I
either missed or he just didn't even notice.
I wonder if they did a tour of malls in the NY/NJ area
... or maybe across the country?!?! Did anyone else
see "Planet of the Apes: Live" back then?
Thanks again,
-- Dave

I've always liked the model of the ship sinking. One of the model sites, Monsters in Motion I think, use to sell the models pre-built and painted. I wish they still did because I stink at model building.

.htmlThere is no story behind Dr. Zaius wearing sunglasses. I just thought he would look cool and I think he does. I just liked the angle of the shot, and it looks like he is having fun while mugging for the camera. I have been keeping a diary of sorts of how I put the Mego costumes together, since I do spend so much time creating them. I need to take a nice portrait of Dr. Zaius wearing the costume I made so I can put it on my blog.
I have been busy updating my blog of my Mego custom adventures. I am currently trying to create a saddle from scratch, and was working on that last night. I got the horse off of Ebay and I need to set my ape soldier on it. They sell stuff like that I am sure, but hey why not make it if you can? So I am trying! I have photos on my blog if you are interested to see what I have been up to. It used to be just about knitting, but sewing is so much more instant gratification, and I truly am such a nut about Planet of the Apes. I am also wearing my chimp sweater again today. There's a photo of that on my blog, too.

Some of you guys were talking about Mark Wahlburg - didn't any of you

thought he was wonderful, very understated, but everything he needed to

that it was the directing and not the capabilities of the actor that
gave us so much less re: his Leo role.

Thanks Jessica.
I think we ask this question every year around that holidays but what would be everyone's ultimate POTA gift?
For me it would be the model of Taylor's ship used in the film.

age. So I picked that up, along with 7 packs of unopened Space: 1999
cards, a wrapper from a 1968 Topps POTA pack, and one of the Inkworks
promotional cards (P1) for the POTA Archives set (the one with Caesar)
all for $30. Not a bad deal.
Found this site listing all the cards in case anyone's interested:

BTW, wasn't one of the promo cards supposed to be a shot from BENEATH

Episode #13: Chapter 12
This was going to be the final episode, but the script was so large that I separated it into 2 parts. Here is the OFFICIAL second to last episode of Planet of the Apes…Taylor, Nova, Zira, Cornelius and Lucius face down Dr Zaius and his Gorilla squad on the steps of Cornelius' cave… Who will flinch first in this post apocalyptic stand-off? While back in Ape city Ursus, still enraged over the abomination perpetrated on his fellow gorillas by the unknown mutant forces of the Forbidden Zone, sets upon a course of action that will have dire consequences for the future of apekind… And what of these unknown mutants, these ghosts of the Forbidden Zone? Join us for this action packed episode!

in fairly good shape considering it's age. So I picked that up, along with 7 packs of unopened Space: 1999 cards, a wrapper from a 1968 Topps POTA pack, and one of the Inkworks promotional cards (P1) for the POTA Archives set (the one with Caesar) all for $30. Not a bad deal. Found this site listing all the cards in case anyone's interested: http://ourworld. compuserve. com/homepages/ allender/ potaarc.htmBTW, wasn't one of the promo cards supposed to be a shot from BENEATH where the gorilla soldiers are coming out of the tunnel? I don't see it listed at the bottom of the page. Chris L.

.htmlGreetings, everyone. I have just posted five Planet of the Apes
parodies from Cracked & MAD Magazines to the Files Section. I hope you
enjoy them! On a similar note, if there is any television show or
movie parody (prior to the year 2000) that you would like to have as
a .pdf file, drop me an e-mail ( RedSpy13@...)and let me know what
you are looking for. If it was made by MAD Magazine, I have it, and
I'll be happy to make the .pdf for you. Happy trading and collecting,
everyone!

You're quite welcome, James. I'm glad I joined the
group. If I can ever get my hands on scans of the Tim Burton remake
parody, I'll add it to the folder. Keep up the great work!

.htmlGreetings, everyone. I wanted to explain about the digital trading
cards. I only posted three on the site because I didn't want to take
up too much of the group's memory space. If you download the cards and
like them, and you want the rest of them (29 in all), just drop me an e-
mail ( RedSpy13@...) and I'll be happy to share them with you.
Happy trading and collecting, everyone!

.htmlI have the videotapes of all of the movies, but there's nothing quite as exciting as seeing it play on an actual tv station in real time (even though it will have commercials) -- haven't quite figured out why that is.

.html Hey folks! The new guy in the group, Jeff, has sent me images of stuff
I've never seen before, not just MAD parodies but bubble gum card sets
from THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E. and THE RAT PATROL (If you want to see
what Eric "Dr. Hasslien" Braeden [AKA Hans Gudegast] looked like on the
show I'll bet he'll post it). This guy has amassed quite a collection.
It's great he's got so much scanned. I'd like to thank him here for
sending me things so quickly.
