Subject: Apes Soundtracks
.html
Greetings, everyone. I have recently completed my collection of
original soundtracks from the world of the Apes, and I recommend that
you do the same, as the soundtracks are getting harder to find. Here
is a link to get the original PLANET, which has a suite included from
ESCAPE (as ESCAPE was never released as a full soundtrack):

http://www.cduniverse.com/productinfo.asp?pid=1044429

Here is a link to order the Special Edition of BENEATH:

http://www.screenarchives.com/title_detail.cfm?ID=231

Here is a link to order the soundtracks of CONQUEST & BATTLE, which
are combined on one CD:

http://www.screenarchives.com/title_detail.cfm?ID=36

And here is a link to order the Tim Burton soundtrack:

http://tinyurl.com/yw6677

These are the cheapest prices I have found, and I hope they are
helpful to you. Apparently, the Lalo Schifrin soundtrack to the TV
Series is no longer available, as I can find no one who has it for
sale. I'm glad I got mine when I did. I suggest you order these CDs
before the rest of them disappear into the Forbidden Zone. Enjoy, my
friends, and Simian Smiles to all!

Hello, I just joined the pota group. I'm a huge Planet of the Apes fan,
so much so I named my dog Zira. I have alot of action figures, some of
them are from the 70s. I have a couple of the soundtracks and movie
posters from the first 2 movies. My favorite movie is Escape from
planet of the apes. I'm glad to have found a group that shares in my
love of all things ape!

Welcome Stephanie.  When I was young I used to have two cuddle pillows.  One was named Zira and the other, Lisa.

Hi Stephanie,

I enjoy Escape, too. Something about Cornelius popping the guy with
the tray to defend his wife's dignity and Apes dressing up to go out
on the town. Yup. And I love the carpet bag. And Baby Milo.

Stephanie, I really love Escape too.  I've lost count of how many times I have watched that movie.  I forgot to tell you earlier that I have my own gallery with the Mego Museum, and you can see some of my work here: http://www.megomuseum.com/custom/jessicarotich..html"

I need to include the recent work I did with General Ursus and a Mego Zira with better hair, but customizing the apes figures is kind of like me reliving the movie somehow.  I have also dabbled in 1:6 customizing but for now I'm concentrating on Mego scale.

That's the one thing that I don't care for in that film, the apes dressing "human"... I know that folks like James and others will say that what we see on the screen is "canon" (and things in the books might be considered canon if they don't contradict the films itself), but anyway, I like the way the book handles that situation. For instance, when looking at the gowns, etc. it has Zira saying something like "They're all so ugly, but I suppose I should pick one of them..."

And in reference to the question posed to Cornelius: "How do you find our women", I think the book does have him say "Very human" but, he also follows it up with a line that goes something like "Our views on beauty are totally different, so your questions really makes no sense."

Again, I'm paraphrasing from the book and the lines are not exact.

However, I do NOT believe they are supposed to be "the same" ape. Yes, they're both called The Lawgiver, and they both are such, but if you believe as I do that BATTLE takes place in a new timeline and things may change or have changed then he is not going to necessarily be the same Lawgiver that wrote the Sacred Scrolls that are followed by Dr. Zaius in PLANET.

I believe that as far as the timeline(s) go, they are two seperate timelines (which I know James will disagree with, and that's his perogative.) And, even if the whole thing "is" supposed to be a circular loop, that doesn't necessarily mean that everything will stay the same as it was. Things will change, and the Lawgiver being a man-hater originally and then a peacenick later on are proof of this. ****

The children call him 'Lawgiver' and the fact that he's speaking to a gathering of children suggests he's more of a teacher than a living god.

**** Agreed again. The original Lawgiver is the teacher of the rules that apes are to live by and the one in BATTLE is the teacher of ape and man's rules for coexiting in peace and harmony. ****

All this still leaves open the question as to who or what the Lawgiver was a prophet of, of course.

**** The original Lawgiver  was the prophet of the dogmas of ape society. The one from BATTLE doesn't count in my eyes. He may have the title, but he isn't the TRUE Lawgiver. ****

You can find the POTA tv series music at Amazon from their affiliates
for crazy prices. Right now they've got two used copies, one for $175
and one for $300.00.

Has anybody in Apeland got the book 'Films into Books' by Randall D
Lawson? I'm told it has an interview with Michael Avallone about his
Beneath novelisation.Apparently he wrote it in 3 days because another
writer's submitted manuscript was rejected. Which does raise the
intriguing question as to whether, somewhere, there's a second (first!)
unpublished manuscript of Beneath to be discovered. The book may also
have George Effinger in there, but I'm not sure. It's a 1995 book and it
would be interesting to see the Apes bits. John, Scrolls.

Fascinating!! Does it say who had written the previous Beneath
manuscript? Unfortunately, Avallone is dead so we can't ask him directly.

Good news, fellow simians. I have found a site where you can
download the Lalo Schifrin TV Series soundtrack. It is a music
downloading site, where you pay a fee to join (under $20.00), which
opens your account. All your downloads are then deducted from this
fee. You can download individual tracks for .10 cents each, or the
entire album (32 tracks) for only $1.58! I don't know how long the
soundtrack will last there, so get it while you can. Simply go to
the site and do a search for either "Planet of the Apes" or "Lalo
Schifrin", and you will find the soundtrack. Enjoy, and Simian

I have come across two bootlegs of the ESCAPE soundtrack on CD. One
is combined with the soundtrack to "The Mephisto Waltz", and the
other is combined with the soundtrack to "Damnation Alley". Both
bootlegs are being sold as compilations of Jerry Goldsmith movie
music. These are apparently the ones appearing on eBay. I do not
know the quality of them, but they both list the music as actual
separate tracks, as opposed to the combined "suite" that is included
on the PLANET soundtrack. If I can ever find either one available
for download, I'll inform the group.

Subject: Michael Avallone's adaptation of BENEATH...
      .html
      Attachments :
        .html
I have the Michael Avallone adaptation of BENEATH...and I must tell my Apester friends that personally, I feel the same way about his book as I did with Tim Burton's 2001 remake...it stank.  That's the only one of the adaptations that I found so hard to read.

        For example:

        1. There's a scene when, after General Ursus, the Grand Army of the Apes and Dr. Zaius had defeated the illusions that Mendez and company had put in front of them, in the visible distance, there were the above-ground ruins of New York City--and Mr. Avallone mentioned that "the face of Miss Liberty was poking out of the ground like markers along the route"!  How could that have possibly been the case when Taylor and Nova had already seen the Statue, face, crown and torch still intact, half-buried in the sand along that beach?

        2.  A horrible sexist remark was made early in the book when Avallone tried to recap the first movie's events in flashback, saying that "being female, the woman had not survived the flight".  I was only thirteen when I first read the book and even then, I thought that any female fans of the movies would've been offended by that...I certainly was!

        3.  I think that I'd mentioned this once before, but the worst error of all was a scene at the end that showed Zira and Cornelius at being at home in Ape City when the events going on that ultimately led to the Bomb being activated occurred...which would've made ESCAPE impossible.

        4.  A lot of Apesters won't believe this, but there actually WAS a scene that had been cut out of the movie, when the Army had traveled through the tunnels en route to the mutant stronghold and, quoting Avallone, "encountered three robed figures hurrying...these had been, of course, the Fat Man (Adiposo), Caspay and the verger [of the cathedral]."  Under General Ursus' orders, they were brutally gunned down.  This would have been directly in front of the ruined Radio City Music Hall marquee.  This was mentioned in the book.  I'm holding on to my statements about how I well remember seeing that scene during the theatrical release in the summer of 1970.

        5.  Here's another error:  After Taylor and Nova had seen the Statue, they rode off...and "the half-buried statue of Miss Liberty beckoned mutely...the dead waters lapped pitifully at her stone shoulders and obsidian face".  But the Statue of Liberty is made of COPPER!

The very same Jim Whitmore that wrote the first APES timelines has mentioned in a later Marvel magazine (POTA #19, April 1975) mentioned that there was a major flaw in the BENEATH novelization, and that it was the writer himself...Mr. Whitmore went on to say that "Avallone was moderately well known as a writer of paperback mysteries and a large number of movie and TV novelizations...but it was obvious that he handles his projects much the same way anybody does when he doesn't give a damn.  He hurries.  He doesn't even seem to take the time to read what he has said..." and, in addition, Avallone himself stated that "it was an assignment, it's money"...which Whitmore also felt was the source of the many problems in the novelization of such a visually dynamic film.

Anyway, I wonder what my fellow Apesters' takes are on this.  Personally, I would have liked to seen BENEATH rewritten if at all possible!

*** You need to remember that when BENEATH was made (and novelized)
that it was to be the last film due to Mr. Heston's insistance that
they blow up the world and hence, end the franchise. There were no
plans for ESCAPE at the time, so the bit you're talking about
wouldn't have mattered anyway. I don't know if that bit was ever
scripted, or if Mr. Avallone just made it up, but whatever the case
is/was regarding that scene: In the context of BENEATH being the only
sequel at that time, and thought to be the last and only sequel at
the time, the scene makes perfect sense. (Plus, add to the fact that
even if the scene really did exist and let's hypothetically say it
was used in the film, I'm sure that Mr. Dehn would have easily
forgotten that fact, just as he convenientally forgot so many others
          when scripting the films.) ***

*** Hold onto it all you want, but as with some of the other
discrepancies you mentioned in your complete post, this too is not
consistant with the film (or any BENEATH script for that matter.)
BENEATH, just as with the other APES movies when novelized, was
fleshed out with bits created by the author(s), and this scene is one
of those. There is absolutely no evidence of it ever existing in the
film or even a script. It exists nowhere except in the Avallone
novel. Every other deleted scene from BENEATH has at least some proof
that it was scripted, maybe rehearsed, maybe even shot and later
scrapped. Why doesn't this? I can tell you why: It was from the pen
of Michael Avallone and nobody else. ***

He did appear in the original film which begs the question that some actors that were moulded had there faces prepared in all guises.

I'm impressed. This is all pretty well documented. Thank you.

I got to thinking about it after talking with a friend from Kuwait.
(I have to admit I'm fairly ignorant about Islamic stuff.) I asked
her if Mohammed had any living descendents and (to my surprise) I
learned that there a huge masses of sayed Arabs. Thinking about this

the other "peaceful" Lawgiver from BATTLE. However, I do NOT believe
they are supposed to be "the same" ape. Yes, they're both called The
Lawgiver, and they both are such, but if you believe as I do that
BATTLE takes place in a new timeline and things may change or have
changed then he is not going to necessarily be the same Lawgiver that
wrote the Sacred Scrolls that are followed by Dr. Zaius in PLANET.

circular loop, that doesn't necessarily mean that everything will
stay the same as it was. Things will change, and the Lawgiver being a
man-hater originally and then a peacenick later on are proof of this.

Yes, yes, but even if they are one timeline, had the Sacred Scrolls
yet been written in Battle? The Lawgiver may have been peaceful in
the early ape/human relationship. Yet, as time went on and man
regressed (and apes became more advanced) the relationship changed.
If the Lawgiver is organic, then there must have been more than one,
right? Each successor may have been more dogmatic than the previous
Lawgiver and related more to the times than to a basic doctrine.

So then, if so, who/which was the Greatest Ape?

Wow!  That's pretty cool, having talked to Woodrow Parfrey's son, even if only in emails.  I'm kind of a Parfrey fan.  He made three movies with Frank Schaffner, and was in tons of TV stuff.  I got the entire "Man fron U.N.C.L.E." boxed set in December and it's been fun seeing him in some of those episodes.  He was also part of Clint Eastward's troup and can be seen in THE OUTLAW JOSEY WALES, which Buck Kartilian (Sp?) also appears, as does a POTA ocation.

Okay, Aboro3085...I appreciate and respect your opinions and your comments, and thanks so much for your feedback, but still...the scene was filmed when the three mutants were running for cover and were spotted.  It simply was deleted for some reason.

            3. I think that I'd mentioned this once before, but the worst error
of all was a scene at the end that showed Zira and Cornelius at being
at home in Ape City when the events going on that ultimately led to
the Bomb being activated occurred...which would've made ESCAPE
            impossible.

            4. A lot of Apesters won't believe this, but there actually WAS a
scene that had been cut out of the movie, when the Army had traveled
through the tunnels en route to the mutant stronghold and, quoting
Avallone, encountered three robed figures hurrying...these had been,
of course, the Fat Man (Adiposo), Caspay and the verger [of the
cathedral]." Under General Ursus' orders, they were brutally gunned
down. This would have been directly in front of the ruined Radio
City Music Hall marquee. This was mentioned in the book. I'm
holding on to my statements about how I well remember seeing that
scene during the theatrical release in the summer of 1970.

              Stephanie

There is a third alternative. The Lawgiver in Battle does speak of 'evil men who betrayed God's trust'. It could be that succeeding generations of Apes focused on the negative rather than the more positive parts of the Lawgiver's writings. It wouldn't be the the first religion who's followers have done that.

*** My personal guess is yes, and if not written, they were going to be written by that peaceful Lawgiver. He knows the story of Caesar, he knows he wanted to live in peace and harmony with humans, so that Lawgiver would probably write the new Scrolls based on that. But, then again, there may not be any new Sacred Scrolls written. That may be another thing that is changed in the new timeline. New Lawgiver, peaceful teachings, and perhaps no Scrolls condemning Man or preaching togetherness between the species. ***

The Lawgiver may have been peaceful in the early ape/human relationship. Yet, as time went on and man regressed (and apes became more advanced)the relationship changed.

*** Again, this is just a theory, and it's based on my own guess there are indeed two timelines (the second of which started with the events of ESCAPE.)  I am NOT wanting to get the "Timeline" debate going here though, so don't look at this post as an attempt at that. That said, I believe there are two timelines, the first of which included a man hating Lawgiver who wrote the Sacred Scrolls condemning humanity, etc. He existed in the first timeline, and he is the one that was followed by Zaius, Ursus, Z and C, etc.

Then, along came the second timeline. There was an ape referred to as The Lawgiver, but he is not a man hater... Look at his actions in BATTLE, he preaches that as he looks at ape and man living in peace, there is hope for the future (or something to that effect. If he is glad to see that type of thing going on, it's highly unlikely that he would write anything against the coexistence between the species. And, if nothing "bad" is said about man or ( anything that could be taken as "against humanity") by this Lawgiver, then there would be nothing for future generations of apes to misinterpret in the second timeline. ***

If the Lawgiver is organic, then there must have been more than one, right?

*** No, there was only one. Well, two: The original in the PLANET timeline, and the other new "one" in the BATTLE timeline. In either case, he is just one supreme ape. There are no more than one in either timeline. If there was more than one in the PLANET timeline, surely Zaius and the others would not refer to him as The Greatest Ape of All. There cannot be more than 1 greatest ape. Saying there is more than one Lawgiver is like saying there is more than one Jesus Christ (and no, I am NOT wanting to get a religious debate going! But, Jesus is the closest example I can think of.) ***

So then, if so, who/which was the Greatest Ape?
*** The Lawgiver of course. ***

I would think you'd love the BENEATH adaption because it seems to be the only source that has such a scene in it, and that's only because Avallone fleshed out the book with that scene, born of his imagination. ***

                3. I think that I'd mentioned this once before, but the worst error

at home in Ape City when the events going on that ultimately led to
the Bomb being activated occurred...which would've made ESCAPE
                impossible.

Mike, right? Thanks for all of the that. It actually sounds good.

I didn't mean to get into the timeline debate. (My apologies and
regrets for that.) Having said that, it was looking to me like there
was more than one Lawgiver. (Especially since we see him in Battle as
a nice guy and later as somewhat of a malcontent – as represented by
Zaius.) However, as these things go, we do have to rely on the
teachings of the storytellers through the generations in order to form
an opinion. If we had access to the Sacred Scrolls, perhaps we could
                know.

Peter Jackson,(Too busy) Christopher Nolan, or Ed Wood.
                Brendan.
PS. It would have to be someone with complete autonomy, so Fox would
have to keep out of it, which we know will never happen.

I think that the Coen Brothers would do a good job on APES #6.

I would like to see either Michael Bey or Coen Brothers do a POTA sequel.

I do wonder. If there was going to be one more episode in the PoTA
saga... #6 in the series... who would you trust to write/produce it?

I'd stick a fan (someone who knows Apes and studies Apes Canon) with
                  Mel Gibson (The Passion...)

(Runs to hide amongst the other stuffed humans in the museum...)

And, let's be real, after 2001, do you trust ANYONE with your favorite
                  child?

Honestly? I really don't trust anyone to do it right. There are a
couple who might do it less wrong than others, but I'm not sure the
industry still contains the calibre of director that the original
                  five were blessed with.John, Scrolls.

                  Thanks for the ideas, all.

If we are being honest, I don't know any of these people that you all
are talking about. (I honestly don't see many movies; and when I do, I
don't pay attention to any of the trivia around them... actors,
directors, etc.) but it doesn't mean I don't have opinions.

My opinion: It's got to be someone who is literal and has a mind for
                  the obscure.

I only brought it up because I was sitting here at my computer looking
up at the ceiling and, lo and behold, appeared before me the box that
the Passion rests in. I liked the way Gibson did The Passion of the
Christ. He tied together the twelve Stations of the Cross – an idea
that I hadn't heard about until the movie – twining in other Christian
beliefs and Biblical accounts to support the story. (I didn't think he
was entirely faithful to the Biblical account until I started looking
stuff up.) I think he did a really good job pulling together all the
pieces. Wound in with the Christian account, were some character
dilemmas (mostly of a spiritual nature), the eerie appearance of the
devil, and some graphical guts and gore. What else would you want?

I'd like to see someone who lives, breathes, and loves Classic Apes dig
deep, polish up their people skills, and help pull the pieces out of
the box and lay them on the table for someone talented to work with.

                  In a perfect world.

                  Helen

                  .html

As promised, today we launch our SIMIAN SCROLLS contest.

The contest is very simple. All you have to do is answer 10 questions about the latest issue of SIMIAN SCROLLS.

The questions and where to email the answers can be found here: http://movies.groups.yahoo.com/group/pota/files/SSC.htm.

The prizes are really great and have been provided by Dave Ballard.

First prize will be a copy of Urko's wall map recreated by Dave and suitable for framing:

Along with a printed copy of the Presidential Commission Dossier:

The Dossier has only been available in PDF format on Hunter's site (https://pota.goatley.com/misc/briefing-dossier.pdf) but now a limited number have been printed.

And a set of Dave's Planet of the Apes Bookmarks:

The first prize winner will win all the above.

The second prize winner will win their choice of either the Map or the Dossier plus a set of Bookmarks.

The third prize winner will win a copy of the Dossier and a set of Bookmarks.

The fourth prize winner will win a Medicom Soldier Ape MOC and a set of Bookmarks.

The first person to email all 10 correct answers will win the first prize. The second person will win the second prize and so on.

Also, the latest entry of CORNELIUS' JOURNAL is now available.

I completely agree with this, Jeff B. Who's Rick Baker?

I'm sorry, but.... Wow. It's hard to believe there's anyone out there
who doesn't know who Rick Baker is. He's one of the world's best and
most famous makeup artists. He's won numerous Oscars for his work,
                  which has included:

                  - King Kong (1976) (He played Kong in that, too)
                  - An American Werewolf in London
                  - Greystoke
                  - Coming to America
                  - Gorillas in the Mist
                  - Mighty Joe Young
                  - Planet of the Apes (2001)

Notice the prevailing theme? Nobody does Apes makeup better than Rick
Baker, IMO.... How'd he be helming a movie, I have no idea, but the
                  passion is certainly there.

(Most of you probably know this, but in case you don't, Rick Baker was
also one of the biplane gunners in the King Kong remake (Peter
Jackson, who produced and directed the Lord of the Rings movies and
King Kong) was the pilot in Rick's plane).)

No offense to the fan fiction writers, but I usually can't stand to
read fan fiction. However, "Loomings" was amazing. It's right up
there with "Beware the Beast" and a couple of others that are so well
                  done they almost seem canonical.

'Loomings' becomes even more amazing when you realize it's the work of just one man. Mike
not only illustrates, but writes and edits his own material too!

I figured that must have been the case, as the TOC only listed him.

There are a lot of good choices here. I'd like to add Robert Zemeckis since he has some experience with social satire and time travel movies.

What's most important to me is someone that respects the intergrity of the original films. I don't want someone who will try to put their own stamp on it and be a revisionist. I think that was the chief problem with the 2001 film.

Gorillas in the Mist. That whole story is awesome! I with I had
Dian Fossey's guts, I'd be doing that stuff! BTW: Who wore ape

Seriously, you aren't going to believe this (giggles into napkin), but
I don't watch much TV or see many movies. Maybe I'm too hyper. Maybe
                  I'm too easily bored. I don't know.

So, talk to me. Do you think anyone could actually write a believable
and purposeful #6 for POTA? James has a point about using someone who
is good with social satire AND time travel. I think you need someone
who LOVES Apes. (The whole crush on Zira, Taylor, Cornelius, or all
three works.) Someone who cares about the historical importance of the
original, would help. Someone who would, as James said, maintain the
integrity of the original and not put their own spin on it...

Is Rick Baker a writer? Should there be a book first? Would it be a
                  prequel? Sequel? Or a smack-dab-in-the-middle-quel?

Well, (most of) the makeup was the only redeeming thing about 2001.

From the "Gorillas in the Mist" trivia page at IMDb.com:

The gorilla suits used in movies up to this time had obvious
anatomical differences from real gorillas; for instance, the wearer's
real eyes were seen, forcing modification to the face. For this film
director Michael Apted wanted to use real gorillas where possible, but
some shots would have to use gorilla suits, so the difference would
show. 'Rick Baker' met the challenge and created gorilla suits good
enough that Apted could do what he wanted.

I totally agree! And the makeups have to be good. (Perfect would be
nice.) So, he can do this. I prefer no CGI, even though it is cool
what they can do. I just like miraculous makeups!

                  And the story? ...

                  Hunter,

I had no idea about this! I never knew the difference. This is very
difficult information... You've just blown my whole fantasy that she
was surrounded by REAL gorillas without being killed or maimed!

Bummer. (I still wish I had the guts to be Fossey.)

I'd have to say, then, that they guy did a pretty good job with the
makeups. I never knew the difference.

I can believe that. But it's still hard for me to believe that an
Apes fan doesn't know who Rick Baker is. Of course, my wife is always
telling me that I'm an egghead and that nobody cares about that stuff,
                  so what do I know?

                  > So, talk to me. Do you think anyone could actually write a believable
                  > and purposeful #6 for POTA?

I'm sure someone could, yes. But I think it's pretty unlikely to find
such a person in Hollywood. While there are lots of people who are
big fans (Frank Darabont, for one; he adapted and directed THE SHAWSHANK
REDEMPTION and THE GREEN MILE) of the Apes, I imagine it would take
someone outside of Hollywood to do it, which means it'd likely never
                  happen.

                  > Is Rick Baker a writer?

Not as far as I know.

Frankly, I don't see the point of even trying. People criticize
Dehn's scripts, but aside from a complete disregard of some key plot
points (even from his own scripts), I think it's amazing that the four
sequels work as well as they do (and I just finished watching all of
them last week, the first time I've done so in a few years). As much
as I love it all, I have a hard time believing that *any* new movie
would be worth watching. The story exists as it is, and I think the
concept is remake-proof. PotA2001 not only had a lousy story, but any
attempt to retell the story for such a well-known film is bound to
                  fail, IMO.

In any case, those of us here are a passionate bunch, but I don't
believe there are enough fans out there to warrant any other attempt
                  at a movie.

Since this sort of follows someone's previous Dian Fossey post, I
thought I'd mention the sweet thing that my daughter does NEARLY EVERY
WEEK! My 8-year-old just got off the bus. Today was library day. As
usual, she got two books from the library -- one for herself, one for
me. Every week... another apes book. Today my book is: "Gorilla
Doctors: Saving Endangered Great Apes." I am so loved!

Is Nicholas Meyer (Star Trek , Time After Time) still alive? He knows time travel and social satire. If he can write Vulcan dialogue how bad can he do with apes?

Would it be a
                  prequel? Sequel? Or a smack-dab-in- the-middle- quel?

As usual, with most gorillas, John Alexander played Digit.  He's played most of the movie gorillas since the mid 80's

Ok, but does he know the story? Does he care? (Just curious.) **He's
                  been tainted by 2001.**

Gorillas in the Mist. That whole story is awesome! I with I had
Dian Fossey's guts, I'd be doing that stuff! BTW: Who wore ape
makeup in "Gorillas in the Mist?"

I joined this group a couple of months ago and gave a very brief description of myself.  I don't really talk about myself or "toot my own horn" BUT, my youtube vide just passed 1000 views and I'm excited.  Take a look  search for "Lacey as a gorilla" or go to my myspace account ( myspace.com/skintrick) and check it out.  This is the make up I will be wearing at comic con in San Diego this year.  # of us in Apes make up.  Classic costumes, 1 classic Zira, 1 hybrid Lucius, 1 Marcus with this face.

I'd agree on that too! I enjoyed his rendition of King Kong over the
others that were done previously. At least Pete will give the gorillas
some much deserved respect for being the gentle giants with brains they
                  are.

Gorillas get such a bad rap....So unfair!

Actually...The POTA franchise will have to be ripped away from Fox in
order for it to have a fair chance of being done the way Boulle wrote
