Hi Rory its a good idea
i'm sure a few people have some opiinions on the
blue ray box set
i'd like to hear them myself and have this archived

so anyone who wants to write reviews please send
them to me for inclusion
thanks

I'd include something about the Blu-ray release (including the book!),

and instead of an article written by just one person (i.e. you'r
e

standard "DVD Review" type thing) how about comments from everyone here

that's bought the thing, all collected together and organized into some

sort of AC thingy?

Not too happy, Al. That ABC HD broadcast of one of your favorite
movies was an HD joke!

By the way, I didn't like that Movieplex thingy. They made fun of
POTA. Too much monkeying around.

Yeah, unfortunately no different than most of the Apes TV trailer marathons in the past.

Yeah, ABC continues to drop the ball. :(
I expect ABC will one day (the lazy way). Only after it's released on bluray.
But by then it'll be too late coz nothing beats bluray's 1080p picture quality. That's for sure.

Wow. I never knew there were Space Academy figures. The question though is whether or not the toy catalog that came with the figure was stapled or folded. Because if it was stapled, that refers back to John Henry Stapleton, the inventor of what we currently refer to as a stapler. Since his theory of tiny pieces of bent metal was considered heretical by publishing magnate Robert Anthony Folderstein III, it becomes obvious that the catalog is CLEARLY a reference to Dr. Milo's struggle with salvaging Taylor's spaceship.

Mmm-hmm.

Not too happy, Al. That ABC HD broadcast of one of your favorite
    movies was an HD joke!

By the way, I didn't like that Movieplex thingy. They made fun of
    POTA. Too much monkeying around.

I was intrigued by the "Sideshow versus Hasbro" figures photos on Hunter's Planet of the Apes Archives. Strange that Hasbro went to the trouble of putting hair on the figures, yet appeared to make little effort with the likenesses. Sideshow's hard moulded head wasn't as natural looking, but they sure got the likeness right. Has anyone gotten their hands on the good looking (but rather expensive) Hot Toys figures?

      Hello guys,

I'm writing this because I care, and because I love this fandom, which I consider as being very polite and respectful. Nice and fantastic people, overall speaking. Passionate fans, even more passionate than me, of course.

I'm just saddened by the lack of interest most showed towards my work on the "APELINES". I worked very hard to make those "have a sense", and I think they have that (LOL). I was just expecting more feedback from the POTA fans.

NOT ONLY, a guy writing a POTA fanzine (or so) contacted me one year ago. He was willing to issue the Apelines on his magazine... WHOOSH, I didn't know anything about it anymore. What happened? Enigma.

Sorry for the rant, it's just that I'm a bit disappointed as how things turned in the end. Hope this situation is going to change sometime soon and someone will recognize the gigantic work of passion I did.

      Hi, Tiziano,

I can't speak for anyone else, but I can say that I've tried to join your Yahoo group, Apecalypsenow, several times, but my subscription has never been approved or denied--it's just been awaiting approval for months now. As such, I've never seen APELINES to have a reaction to it. Perhaps others are having the same problem I am, resulting in the lack of response from fans.

Unfortunately, Rich's Timeline book may have overshadowed your efforts recently.

However, and I'm sorry if I'm being harsh, you really haven't shared what you have done with the members of this group in any detail. So it is a bit unfair to chastize members here for not giving feedback to something that they haven't seen.

If I were you Tiziano, rather than be pissed, I'd buy a copy of Rich's book. Nothing anyone does for oh, the next century is going to touch it.

Hey all you Jerry Goldsmith cats! Dig the
swingin' grooves on this platter. Take it for a spin!
It's the guy who did the music for "Apes"
based on the signature TV series of the guy who co-wrote "Apes" and
      became
infamous for the accident by "Battle" 's "Jake's Friend". What could be
      more
      almost "Apes" than that?

        Hi there, Terry!

Please find Attached My 1st part of THE TRUTH for the upcoming issue...Let me know what you think

AND...a picture i took off German TV when i was there during christmas...An advert for The POTA evening/screening of the first 2 movies back-to-back...had spent a great quiet evening at my partner's family home there, watching it in German ( though MY German is a bit rustic!!!) but it was a fun experience.....

...Then i'd noticed 2 parts cut only from the first film that evening:

. parts of the dialogue between Taylor & Landon after avoiding the boulders before Landon mentions"...I'm prepared to die!"

And the whole scene when Taylor enters the whole aopes ceremony ( "...I never met an ape i did't like!" ) during his chase in Ape City

Not MINE. I was just checking all the BD websites floating on the net... well, is it me, or the picture quality of the BD edition of POTA had mixed reviews?
        And if so, why?

You're damn right, James... but it's a struggle anytime I write English. Language barrier. I can't be that much detailed, it will require a lot of time to do so.
        I'll try, even.

        Thank you!

Hey all you Jerry Goldsmith cats! Dig the

        It's the guy who did
        the music for "Apes"
based on the signature TV series of the guy who
        co-wrote "Apes" and
        became
infamous for the accident by "Battle" 's
        "Jake's Friend". What could be
        more
        almost "Apes" than
        that?

        Hi everyone,

Looks like I missed some juicy stuff here.

First I've had a look at Tiziano's timelines, and I agree, there's a lot of work there, and he should be proud.

Also Rich's POTA Timeline is great (The Bible for POTA Timeline), good onya Rich.

And Finally there is my Timeline on this site,(and character bio's as well) and in the past I've had good feedback.

The point is, we have 3 different (perhaps connecting) timelines, for the fans to view and comment on.

Even I took a lot of time to put my timeline together, but I'm not upset if nobody notices, but its there just the same for anybody to view and download for personal use.

Well that's my 2 cents worth of thought for the week.

        All the best for now.

        Peter.

I have Ursus in there. He's the 4th listed. I just didn't call him General.

        Who are your 10 favorites?

I cannot conceive of a world where Mr. Comics will release another project, including the graphic novel. Though the publisher claims he's still in the business, and has just been laying low for a while, he's not printed anything in well over a year, and has not hired any writers or artists for anything in over two years. Perhaps, if some new publisher has the rights, they can negotiate with Steve to release the material he was too dumb to release himself. I know that happens from time to time with licensed properties...

The way I see it, if Michael Golden is involved with a new comic project for GI JOE just in time for the new GI JOE movie,
who is to say that it isn't the same for the Apes in this new Apes comic project?

Certainly the confirmation of a new apes movie has been present since last November as you pointed out.
Nothing yet set in stone but I for one certainly wouldn't doubt it.

Why does every damn Apes comic have to be Of the Apes... can't anyone do a title without putting that in? Don't they think that when people see the cover they'll know it's an Apes comic? How about a little imagination out there? I mean Malibu's apes comics might have sucked, but at least they had a bit of different titling.

The way I see it is that Fox has had a pretty bad run of late (I just
watched the "reimagining" of THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL -- what a
piece of nothing!) and I'll bet heads are soon to role, so I'm not
expecting this APES redux to ever see the light.

        Just a feeling I have.

The way I see it, if Michael Golden is involved with a new comic
project for GI JOE just in time for the new GI JOE movie,
who is to say that it isn't the same for the Apes in this new Apes
        comic project?

Certainly the confirmation of a new apes movie has been present since
last November as you pointed out.
Nothing yet set in stone but I for one certainly wouldn't doubt it.

The only thing I've heard is that Scott Frank (supposed "Caesar" writer/director) is writing a romantic comedy for Tom Cruise. A Tom Com. There, I've created the next phrase like "reimaging". I'd better go copyright it.
So I don't know if he's off "Apes" (maybe Fox heard that people weren't so crazy about the "Caesar" idea and want something more "Apey"). All I know is they have James Cameron in their stable. I wish they'd ask him.

Go here (http://www.paulrichards.net/pr_film.htm) and scroll down until
the entry for BENEATH. The oft referenced scene where Mendez is praying
before the bust of his Ancestor Mendez I. I always thought that was a
subtly intense moment where the guard (while searching for Nova) came
across Mendez kneeling down in front of the bust and being disturbed at
the image. It was included in both the Marvel comic adaptation and
paperback novelization by Michael Avallone, but- along with so many other
        things- cut from the film.

Looking at the photo, it's pretty obvious that all the busts were based
        on Paul Richard's likeness.

A little CONQUEST twofer the past couple of weekends. Roddy McDowall was
The Bookworm in Batman which they (the American Life TV Network) ran
about a year back (I'm seeing repeats of repeats now), and last Saturday
Hari Rhodes showed up in Mission: Impossible as the leader of a black
crime syndicate. Interestingly, even though it was filmed a year before
CONQUEST, he looked older in this role.

Now that I think about it, outside of MacDonald I've always seen him play
a bad guy. I'm sure that's not all he ever played, but then again I
haven't had the chance to see him in all that much either.

Peter did an excellent job too, IMHO.

That would be great. There are a lot of fans who didn't get a chance to buy the Revolution comic when it came out so a re-issue as a graphic novel give them another chance. Let us know if there is anything we can do to make it a reality.

That's the problem. There was no real conformation of a new movie last November just that they were beginning to develop a new script. There was supposed to be a decision by FOX in February to move forward with the development process, but there hasn't been any news about that.

Unfortunately Yahoo only allows a maximum of 25 choices for any poll. So with 5 movies and the TV series only the major characters could be included. If anyone has a favorite character who was not included in the poll, please feel free to speak up.

The only other thing I remember him from was Roots. He was in the first episode as the high priest of the African Village.

BTW Austin Stoker was in the final episode as one of Alex Hailey's ancestors.

The original sounds pretty liberal even by today's standards. But in many ways so is POTA.

Plus it is a way to let the general public know it's part of the franchise. Just as every Die Hard movie has the words die and hard in its title.

Of course the bust of Mendez I looks nothing like the actor who played him in Battle. I've always wondered why they didn't bring Paul Richards back to play the part.
