I always liked Patrick Stewart for Zaius, mainly because of his voice. He's the only actor I can imaging snarling out Zaius' nastier lines.

Richard Corben did an illustration, in 1977, for the book "The Odd
World Of Richard Corben" in which a naked human mounted on a horse,
rescues a human female, also naked, being captured by a group of
gorillas with clothes and armed with rifles. Is it sounds like something familiar? JR

I need help in identifying this poster I won on ebay....
it is 20" x 26" ...and has a silver look to it.....in the bottom right hand corner it says "A scene from Pierre Boulle's mind-bending fantasy, PLANET OF THE APES PG-33" written in the "Mary
Tyler Moore" script.....
Is that "PG-33" some kind of rating?
the seller says only that it was hanging in a "headshop" (although it doesn't really smell of incense like he said!)
It has creases from when originally folded...squares are 7" by 8" Thought maybe it was pulled from a magazine but there are no signs of staple holes....
Artwork is definitely Heston and apes from the chase scenes but Nova doesn't look like Linda and I've never seen her in that pose before....
anyone have any ideas?
Thanks

Interestingly, the channel was just purchased by ComStar Media Fund, and a
lot of the programming (Batman, The Green Hornet, all the Irwin Allen shows,
Combat, 12 O'clock High) have been jettisoned. I spoke with the program manager
today, and apparently a lot of people have called in to complain- especially
about Batman.
Kind of lame actually. I was getting more in entertainment value from that
particular channel than most of what's currently being produced for television.
At least Mission: Impossible is still on.

and directed, but what's interesting is that Parfrey must have done this
at Fox pretty close to when he was also doing PLANET, and the episode,
in which Parfrey plays this insane scientist, also features Janos
Prohaska as a super-strong, out of control albino gorilla. The suit

that one had a horn attached to the head, and isn't anymore convincing

It looks like News Corp has a replacement for
Peter Chernin, who retires at the end of the month. Basically, this person is
the # 2 man behind Rupert Murdoch. And that person is...
Tim Burton. No, it's Chasey Carey, who was
running DirecTV for News Corp. What does this have to do with anything? Nothing
really, except that as News Corp. goes, so goes POTA.
The main difference seems to be that while
Chernin used to run Fox and was still very involved when as # 2, Carey will
be more hands off when it comes to movies. So Rothman and Co. can continue to
ruin movies without interference.
Apparently Rupe's kids are not ready (or
willing) to begin their ascent to the top, so Carey will be around for a while.
He might still be there 3 "Caesar" sequels from now.
Do we know, with any confidence, whether 'Caesar' definitely is a 'go'? I'd have hoped to see more press speculation than seems to have trickled through to date.John, Scrolls.

The only comics I havent found posted online are
the Dark Horse comics and all the foreign editions
I sent a bunch of them in a few years back to Mile High Comics for a

In Italian, it means "half and half," and basically means she wasn't
too keen on Conquest, so she didn't bother with Battle.

Can't believe I'm actually acknowledging the 2001 film, but has anyone
else seen the new DirecTV Commercial with Attar in it? I know there
aren't that many of the original actors left alive, but it would've been
cool to see Paul Williams as Virgil just one more time...
>>Well, the first half of the fourth season of
"Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea" was released a few weeks ago on DVD and
I've been renting it from Netflix. There's an episode from Nov. 5, 1967
titled "Fatal Cargo" that guess stars Woodrow Parfrey. It's a stinky
episode, badly written and directed, but what's interesting is that
Parfrey must have done this at Fox pretty close to when he was also doing
PLANET, and the episode, in which Parfrey plays this insane scientist,
also features Janos Prohaska as a super-strong, out of control albino
gorilla. The suit looks to be the same he wore in an episode of "Star
Trek," except that that one had a horn attached to the head, and isn't
anymore convincing than the gorilla suit he used in
ESCAPE.<<

It was ORIGINALLY supposed to come out in 1986 as a five volume set- I
still have the Starlog issue with that particular article. When I read
about it again in Sci Fi Universe 8 years later, it was "any day now". Of
course, another seven years passed and then four books came out when the Burton
film did. Just FYI. Check out Brian Pendreigh's 'The Legend of the Planet
of the Apes' if you get a chance.
>>dear group this guy joe russo had a 7 page write up in the
magazine called sci fi universe 1st issue-june of 1994 and the article was

would come out in jan 1995 and to send 13.95 plus 2.95 postage to a new

get the book . the article said that cinemaker press would
publish the book. i think he took the monies from everbody and it came out
by st martins press in june 2001 costing 19.95 during the opening of tim

he ripped a lot of people off to publish his book in 2001. i need a refund of
16.90 . i dont trust this man. <<<.html

articles, reviews and most importantly weekly movie sales/stats of the POTA

Please let me know if your local library etc has
these issues thanks <<

Subject: APE CHRONICLES #45 now available in 3 different formats !! Order no
.html
.html
Ape Chronicles #45 is designed and ready to
ship
Due to new internet technology and marketing I am
trying out a few different formats
Each has their pro's and con's and various
prices
It is has been suggested we go to color cover
artwork so I am doing that now for all 3 formats
The Old Fashioned Way
For 18 years now I have printed them as cheaply as
I can - regular paper, regular xerox format
$9.99 includes shipping for the regular printed
paper version - sent to you directly from me
$7.99 for a PDF version of the entire book and
is emailed to you immediately from me (cheapest and fastest if you don't mind
reading it on your computer)
The new way
I am working on selling through Amazon.com but
until that is set up the best way to sell is through Lulu.
So the new issue is now professionally
printed!
Printed: 56 pages, 8.5" x 11", perfect
binding, white interior paper (60# weight), black and white interior ink, white
exterior paper (100# weight), full-color exterior ink
$13.99 plus shipping if you order directly through
Lulu at this link
If you are patient you can order copies of the
professionally printed copy directly from me as I can give you a better
price
The only catch is that I have to order them from
Lulu and then they are mailed to me and then I mail to you
My actual cost to order them in wholesale is $9.99
each
so to break even I would need to charge you $9.99
plus shipping to mail you a copy
At this point there is no way to print them cheaper
and have them shipped
But I'm open to suggestions
I do take paypal as well as international money
orders, personal checks, cash Paypal address = evelynstocki@...

sharing rare POTA material even though he's MAKING money on rare POTA
material. MASSIVELY lame. MASSIVE dick move. Not sure if this is a step up
or down from his telling people about the Ted Post BENEATH commentary he
has and then saying that it will NEVER be heard by Apes fans.

me either. he has a choice to make, either give me money back or give me the

I don't know, maybe he's a secret member of the group and not telling anyone.
He put up a warning on E-Bay saying that he owns the rights to the
photos and all rights after he sells them.

Two quick thoughts here:
1) How did he find out they were uploaded to the group?
2) He really has no business telling you what to do with the photos once
you've purchased them.

after reading your post and keeping a eye on this long running saga about the photo's.
If he did not take the photo or by the rights to them from the official photographer or fox studios he can not stop any buyer from using them for what ever purpose they wish.
If he can prove he ownes the rights then he is within the copyright laws to take legal action.
But i dont personally think this would happen because then fox could also be involved because of them being taken on set

WHAT MAKES HER HOT: Please look at the picture; she's gorgeous. And
she runs around half-naked like a cave girl. And she fights talking evolved
apes! Estella Warren was a knockout when we first noticed her in
Driven, but it was her primitive portrayal of Daena in Planet of
the Apes that made us one to remember! Yeah, we had a thing for the ape
lady too (played by Helena Bonham Carter), but you can't deny the appeal of good
old fashioned Earth woman!
WHAT WE WANT HER TO DO NEXT: Something other than movies we've never
heard of or movies with National Lampoon in the title. C'mon, someone cast her
as Sheena already and make it just like the last one, with lots of bathing in
the river.
>>One thing nobody has ever documented is original press releases,
articles, reviews and most importantly weekly movie sales/stats of the POTA

If we can locate these magazines we could fill in
some important gaps in documenting the films press info and actual
popularity and sales
Please let me know if your local library etc has
these issues thanks <<

I would also recommend 'The Planet of the Apes Chronicles' by Paul Woods. Is has reprints of articles and interviews from back when the films were being made.

It's a very odd list. The writer seems to suffer from the same myopia that many do these days. If it wasn't made before 1980; they never heard of it.
