Ken Kelly is a friend to the Apes. He's going to be
contributing to the Conspiracy illustrated novel. If you look to the
left you'll see an angry Ursus daring you to click on him, that's one of
Ken's pieces.
He's also been a friend to the crew at BLAM! Ventures since we were booth
neighbors at a Big Apple Con a few years back, so we're kind of fond of him
here. While we'll be doing a profile on him here at some point in the future,
I just wanted to point you in the direction of something that showed up in my
Google Reader tonight.

Ken's Robert
E. Howard series of painting has been featured on the Golden Age Comic
Book Stories blog. It's a gorgeous collection of paintings from the late
'70s through to 1980. For those of you not familiar with Ken's work (and you
really should be, or we'll have to send Ursus to "help" you get familiar with
them) go check it out!

.html.html I'm not sure....maybe see if any have an actual scar on their face! I just watched it again recently....mainly just to see the live chimps at the beginning as I was reading about the Center for Great Apes in Florida where some of them wound up....
I noticed that I think like two actors played all the gorillas with dialogue.......the same two that are with Thade getiing on his horse are the same two he kills in the swamp......etc

He said that if they did not keep the show on the air until

before Comic-Con we hired POTA
expert Rich Handley to serve as our editor as we get ready to move into the
next draft of the novel. Rich is now nearly finished his run through of the
current draft and has been nothing but enthusiastic about what we've done.
His red pen has been hard at work despite that, because he knows we can do
better, and we know we can as well.
The artists involved in the project continue to move forward and hand in some
beautiful work which we'll be teasing bits and pieces of in the months to
come. So all is going well with the Conspiracy.

In other news, today's edition of AMC's SciFi Scanner Daily
Scan blog notes that Hulu.com has seen fit to put the entire run of the
animated Return to the Planet of the Apes
series. Hulu gets the episode order wrong, but someone in the comments on the
Return page
was good enough to post the correct order (but we know you knew that
already).

When it finally dawned on me that they were never going to show it again, I would scan the TV guide and live for an announcement of when the original movies would be reshown. My heart still skips a beat when I see an announcement (via print or e-mail) that one of the TV stations is going to show the movies. Once spotted, I would announce to my sisters that on such and such date, forget about watching their shows becaues my apes would be on and come hell or high water, it was me in front of the TV and my apes. Unfortunately I have never outgrown this and still insist on rewatching the same movies over and over.

I was wondering if this is just an
Aussie/US thing but thankfully it seems more a “there was no internet
then to deliver such news” thing.
It was really very confusing for me to
work out just what had finished and when – I recall getting excited to
see RETURN on the TV too and then it stopped/came back on/stopped again/started
again….it was all over the joint!
I do know that I was aware BATTLE
was the final in the movie series, but it was ADVERTISED as such…

.htmlI just flew in from Nairobi through Dubai and am now back in the Bay Area. Did anyone get their General Ursus from Sideshow? Maybe my General Ursus awaits me at work--the only thing I am looking forward to on Monday.
Someone on the Save the Planet of the Apes megathread at the Sideshow collectors forum got theirs, but I am reading through a backlog of posts. I believe there are photos posted but I have not encountered them yet.
