The winner of the runoff poll is the July 14th date. Unfortunately, there is not enough lead time this year to do anything big but we can still celebrate it in the group.

One of the suggestions was to create a POTA day flag. An initial prototype was made up as an example but since then three candidate flags have been created for everyone to choose from. They are:

I would let it be if they took it off cable, destroyed all the DVDs and burned every copy & negative of the film. It is a terrible film that tarnishes the entire POTA franchise.

As far as Burton, I was never a fan of his and other than a handful of his films, mainly the early ones, I've found most of his work pointless and unwatchable crap.

So. most of the POTA fans obviously hate POTA '01.  I look at it as an action film with apes.  Why are most of you sooo against letting it be?  There have been numerous other movies that have been remade and they just go on sitting quietly on the shelf.  But not POTA.  Why?  Sometimes the books are followed, sometimes not.  But POTA being "reimagined" ( with the ending being the only thing remotely resembling the book) is BLASPHEMY!  I don't understand.  Wizard of Oz, Alice in Wonderland, King Kong, Frankenstein, Dracula, The Wolfman, Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead---just to name a few---don't get the sheer hatred that Burton's Planet gets.

Do you guys who were here back in 2001 remember how just a few weeks after its release I started saying there'd be no sequel, and how it got at least one that I recall mad?  But, I knew there'd be no sequel... simply because the movie was AND IS a bad film.  It was a critical flop.  HUGE!  This is a fact, not my opinion, to which I'll add this...

 

Fox had better not be doing a prequel to POTA2001.  THEY HAD BLOODY WELL BETTER NOT BE!  That movie is a turd that needs to be forgotten.  I hate when I ever have to be reminded of it -- LIKE NOW!

 

For all of you here that like or can tolorate the movie, fine... whatever.... but for me, a turd is a turd is a turd.

 

If the Pope or the President or Steven Hawkings came out tomorrow and said, "I've figured out the ending of POTA2001!!!, " I'd say "Are you nuts?!!  Who cares?  The movie's a TURD!!!!!!"
