Too right. Looks like one of our other regular 'quitters' doesn't like politics (or maybe
the truth) as they have just this minute left the group without even the decency
of an explanation.
These people are so predictable!

I am about to
remove a bunch more members from the DG.
If you didn't
send an email previously, stating you want to stay on the group, you will be
removed.
The group is
now private and you canot just join - you would need an invite or an
approval.
What we
should be left with is the real people and most of those do
participate.
If I delete
you in error, send me an email.

themselves its no big deal cause there are millons of them to divide.
But with such a small group of truly talented fans to contribute to

What's amazing to me is that there's already plans for POTC 3!
When is The Rum Diary ever going to get finished, or started
for that matter? The Colonel has over booked himself!
But, I digress. Apemania needs to follow a Con cross-country.
Get the word out -- generate some business! They have lives,
I know. So maybe they need some second stringers. I'm
sure some of you out there don't have lives. Now's the time
to step up to the plate. Not only will you be representing
POTA, but Apemania has an awful lot of high dollar swag
to flog. Now maybe the only ones with money to buy
replica props and costumes will be the ST & SW fans,
but word will get around. Names & numbers will be
exchanged. The only way for POTA to compete is
to have a presence. THAT is what has been lacking
at the Cons. And you and you and yes even YOU
are to blame! Mostly Brian and his lot, but YOU as
well! So get in there! SW & ST are about to be
history!
We've been history for years, so we should be ahead of
them, in that at least. Remember, talkin' monkeys are
just plain cool! Cooler than a Wookie, that's for sure.
And a damn site cooler than an Ewok!! Jar-Jar Binks
my ass! I'd rather see Zira walking around a Con than
all the Jedi and Klingons in the entire Universe!
Okay, I'm stepping off the soap box.
Now hop to it!

.html Ok. I have to know. Isn't anyone going to ask? I'm trying to
avoid spoilers here, but too bad!
What is going on underground? There are six (?) ships represented
there in the museum, and some of them are in fairly good shape.
Were there six ships in POTA? I'm guessing this is where Milo gets
his ship(s). EXCELLENT! How very clever! I don't care so much
about the story behind the ships, I want to see what happens with
Milo and the ship.
This is where I look completely stupid, but isn't that Milo? It has
to be!
Um... If you aren't going to write more comics, how will we know
what happens????
I don't know what sorts of conversation you are looking for here,
but I think, if I'm reading where this was going, you've pulled
together a great Milo/ship scenario! I hadn't thought of it! Am I

.htmlYeah. I think I see where Elaine is coming from here. I stay
silent about most of the comic stuff. (First off, I'm just learning
how to read comics -- not that reading is hard *grin* but following
comics has always been hard for me. It's the left to right reading
sequence thing.) Anyway, since Beware the Beast I've had a little
less problem with that.
However, when I comment about stuff with a personal opinion it
usually doesn't make a good impression, so I figure it probably
isn't worth the effort. Besides... someone always has the right
opinion, and I'm not usually that person. It's better if I just sit
it out.
So, I'm going to go sit with Elaine and eat veggie casserole and
banana muffins and rejoice in the sunshine....

I did see some POTA costumes for sale at one.
Of course they were for thousands of dollars,
so I don't know if they found a buyer. But that
was the first convention I'd even been to, and I've
only been to one since, and that was the one
with the T-shirts. It would be nice to see an
entire section with DVD's playing on big screens
and makeup kits and costumes, props etc . . .

each of the 5 days there hoping to illicit some comment from anyone.
Some people may have noticed them, but nobody said a word. Most of the
flyers promoting the group were still there at the end of the week.
The only notable POTA tie ins I noticed were a few copies of Eric
Green's book and a set of the Simpon POTA pop-ups (which I bought!).
While I hate to admit it, POTA fandom is just a drop of water in a
very big SF ocean. It just happens to be the one drop I like best.
I'm tryin gto stay neutral in all the recent skirmishes and infighting
pointing. We are such a rare breed that it just doesn't make much
sense to be bashing each other. Sure there have been plenty of times
I've disagreed with what some people may say, but I'd rather just not
comment on those and let the group find it's own way.
As for the comics, while it was a valiant effort to inspire
discussion, some of that silence (from myself at least) can be
attributed to the fact that it was just so damn good. I think I only
commented once (whether the chimp was/could be Lucius IIRC), because
everything was being played out with enough intrigue on it's own.
Neil/Micheal were throwing enough curves in the story to keep us glued
to our seats to see what surprise was coming next. It's hard to
explain, but I hope I'm getting my message through.

They didn't just do this for Power Records - I'm pretty sure I remember some
PotA toys having packaging that borrowed/ripped off Ploog's art. As well as
Ploog, the Power Records sleeves also had art by comic artists Ernie Chua
and (the legendary) Neal Adams.

True. One thing both POTA and TABB have in common
is that the fans base is a rare breed. Not that there isn't
a rich and layered world to be a fan of. It's just most Sci-Fi
fans don't get it and only see it superficially. There is
another
film that has a lot to offer as well. Blade Runner has a lot
going for it. But it's fans are a broad mix and not very vocal.

Hi Elaine - let me explian.
I have actually enjoyed a few of the
"Lessons from the Lawgiver".
I have actually hated some too, because
people have used them to hide political messages.
Of course they have explained this away but
essentially they don't have the balls to come out and say something - instead
they hide behind other peoples' backs, using them as shields, and pelt things at
you while others can't see so that they do not LOOK bad.
That's what I call lame.
The "Lessons From The Lawgiver" were
designed for gutless prick to attack people in a nice sneaky way and that's what
I'm talking about.
My apologies to those who genuinely,
innocently, contributed without sinister motives.
Michael
I thing comparing Lessons From the lawgiver
and the comix is like talking about apples and oranges. I think there is room
for all kinds of projects and that is what I like about the pota groups that I

Good point about the conventions. I use to go to Star Trek and sci fi
conventions frequently and it seems like Darth Vader and the Empire was always
there in force(no pun intended.)
Of all the conventions I have attended, I have only been to one where
people were in ape costumes. Elaine <.html

Michael
Ok. I have
to know. Isn't anyone going to ask? I'm trying to avoid
spoilers here, but too bad!
What is going on underground?
There are six (?) ships represented there in the museum, and some of them
are in fairly good shape. Were there six ships in POTA? I'm
guessing this is where Milo gets his ship(s). EXCELLENT! How
very clever! I don't care so much about the story behind the ships,
I want to see what happens with Milo and the ship.
This is
where I look completely stupid, but isn't that Milo? It has to
be!
Um... If you aren't going to write more comics, how will we
know what happens????
I don't know what sorts of conversation you
are looking for here, but I think, if I'm reading where this was going,
you've pulled together a great Milo/ship scenario! I hadn't thought
of it! Am I way off?

You know me
well enough Helen to realise that nobody in this group is WRONG about
anything.
Much like
religion, we all have our very own personal interpretations of POTA, and those
individual differencs are very much what makes the world go
round.
Maybe we
should all ask ourselves WHY others might feel silly to put forward their
view....?
If people are uncomfortable blurting something then this group
isn't working.
Michael
Yeah. I think I see where
Elaine is coming from here. I stay silent about most of the comic
stuff. (First off, I'm just learning how to read comics -- not that
reading is hard *grin* but following comics has always been hard for
me. It's the left to right reading sequence thing.) Anyway,
since Beware the Beast I've had a little less problem with that.
However, when I comment about stuff with a personal opinion it
usually doesn't make a good impression, so I figure it probably isn't
worth the effort. Besides... someone always has the right
opinion, and I'm not usually that person. It's better if I just sit
it out.
So, I'm going to go sit with Elaine and eat veggie
casserole and banana muffins and rejoice in the
sunshine....

I'm trying to stay neutral in all the recent
skirmishes and infighting pointing. We are such a rare breed that it just
doesn't make much sense to be bashing each other. Sure there have been

As for the comics, while it was a valiant
effort to inspire discussion, some of that silence (from myself at least)
can be attributed to the fact that it was just so damn good. I think I
only commented once (whether the chimp was/could be Lucius IIRC),
because everything was being played out with enough intrigue on it's
own. Neil/Micheal were throwing enough curves in the story to keep us
glued to our seats to see what surprise was coming next. It's hard
to explain, but I hope I'm getting my message
