Yeah that's
the other thing - even if apes took over 500 years later this is a museum so it
makes sense that at that time they were preserving old
ships....

there wouldn't be much more "modern/futuristic" ships down there, ships that
would have a better chance of being operational. The old style ICARUS ship
design would probably be obsolete by the future's standards, so why bother
with their style of ships?
-- It's a museum!
Or maybe they hit on the perfect design shape
when they came up with the Icarus style ships and they only improved the
propulsion systems over the years / centuries?
Of course this all depends on how long it
actually is between the design of the 'Icarus ships' and the Apes taking
control of the planet doesn't it.

Hi,I'm here EVERYDAY reading your Posts
But I must admitt I really don't have alot to contribute so Keep quiet and
Learn sumptin is my Motto! lol Anyhoo I have mentioned Before that I do ALOT
of Model Kit Building (Sci-Fi Figures Monsters etc) Well Some of these
Pieces can get a Bit Expensive So ya' wanna be sure you've REALLY
researched your Subject. ALL That being said here's my Delima,
The Model I'm Working on now is Titled "The Mutant Leader" It's a
Scene Featuring Leader "Mendez" the Talented Actor Paul Richards
Standing on the Steps Before the Alter of His "God"(From Beneath My
Fave!) lol Well anyhoo, Mendez himself is a Pretty Straight Forward
Build and Paint AH BUT the Base is a Different Story...This Base Kinda
resembles the Old Addar Dr. Zaius Base,It's a Miniature of the
Songbook/Bible and the rest of that little Square Unit that the Book Rests
upon. The Sculptor even included Clear Plastic Rods of Varying Lengths to
Build the Tubes Taylor Presses to End the Planet Of The Apes (And his
Connection to the Franchise LOL) So as I was Sayin; What I'm Tryin' to Get
is a CLEAR Screen-Grab or Publicity Shot of The "Box/Alter" and the Book The
Whole Thing! I've Tried Stilling the VHS Copy I've Got BUT The DVD I Don't
have and The "Behind The Planet..." DVD DOES have some great Reference of
the Mutant Make-Up Tests BUT Next To NUTHIN' for the Bomb/Alter Set. (Lotta
Interesting Tidbits about the Rest of the Ruins of N.Y. though) So These
Images are what I need. Listen I'm dyin' to Post some Digital In Progress
Shots If anybody would be Interested,If You Don't do Models You still might
be interested in seeing what some people are doing with their Fascination
with all things APE! lol Btw I have some Shots of the First Kit I got for
Christmas,This one Is of Taylor being Leashed by Two Gorillas!! The
Sculptor Got Heston's Likeness DEAD-ON!!! Well Worth the Money! So anyway
Lemmie Know If ya' could Post any Pics of these Details I'm Needing THANKS
SO MUCH in advance

I may be wrong about this, but my guess is that Milo has already found Taylor's ship and started salvaging it, but what he lacks are some essential parts damaged in the lake and some help in figuring out how it
operates. And maybe a launching platform. That where the museum comes in.
In ESCAPE they are able to determine that the ship was the one manned by Taylor, so a good chunk of it has to have been salvaged from the lake, not the museum.

Or maybe they hit on the perfect design shape when they came up with the Icarus style ships and they only improved the propulsion systems over the years / centuries?
Of course this all depends on how long it actually is between the design of the 'Icarus ships' and the Apes taking control of the planet doesn't it.

Thanks for nominating me Anthony.
I continue to love the artwork on this strip, very high standard
indeed.
The story is great and moves along nicely with each new
strip.
Love the idea that the gorrillas have found some ancient human
ruins in this strip, dissapointed not to find out precisely what they have
found in this strip.
Congratulations to Michael and Neil on a truly great strip.
Who to nominate ? dunno really, what about Melinda being as the last

That's all
that makes sense to me.
Sure, this is
stepping out of the "PLANET" mould but as much as it is the best by far, the
folloing 4 installments make it part of a whole (sorry
Cougar!).
Milo could
not have had time to do anything with Taylor's ship! Or Brent's ship - I
mean how long was Brent around for?
Either that
or the identification process in Escape was flawed, or someone
intentionally lied about it being Taylor's ship to cover up
something else (this gets my creative juices flowing and since I was young I
have had a story knocking around in my head following this theory.......they lie
about it being Taylor's ship because it is actually identified as a ship they
have not yet SENT! ie it is going to launch the following day, or in the
near future - maybe once Hasslein eliminates the risk...or so he
thinks.....They decide to go ahead with the launch and instead of
informing and alarming the crew they leave a message and extra weapons with the
crew to deal with the apes. Of course that fails - OR DOES IT? Now
that could have been fun to do a movie about and because it is both a prequel
and a seqiel it would be hard to define!).
Michael

I take
absolutely NO responsibility for the sound effects! ;)
This is a
funny old process. I really think of myself as more a facilitator and
guide with the comics, than a writer!
I trust Neil
and if he says something won't work as a comic (that I think works as a written
story) I let him go. Neil places the text etc as well, which is a poo of a
job I imagine, so he has some idea that he needs more picture where there are
less words and more words where there are less pictures.
I am trying
to replace him and get a puppet but nobody seem interested!
:)
Seriously though, I tend to visualise stories as if they are a TV Show
or a movie. So when Neil comes back with the comic pages I really get
tosee a totally different thing....and I would not have it any other
way!
Right
now the next 3 pages are pencilled and I have told Neil generally where we are
headed for the next chapter (which is really cool because it is Central
City!).
I've thrown Neil an outline and he is starting to get
ideas about placements....being fans we both know just what people want to see
in Central City and I dare say a big feature will be.....you'll
see!
Michael

Fox has announced they're doing a sequel to
"Alien vs. Predator". That movie was very poorly received and I think it only
did so-so (though Fox head Tom Rothman called it a "big success" in the sequel
announcement). But if they're scraping the bottom of the barrel for an A vs. P
sequel then a POTA sequel should be a no brainer (a perfect fit for Fox!).
POTA2001 did much better than A vs. P even given the bigger budget. And you know
what they say about sci-fi sequels: "Where there's one, there's another. And
another. And another. And ano - " , you get the point. Plus they've announced
"Garfield 2". That's sci-fi, isn't it?
Then there's Marvel comics, which has
announced they are going to produce their own movies and distribute them through
Paramount. Fox has "X-Men", and this summer's "Fantastic Four", but after that
the well is dry. What are they going to do for their summer tentpoles? They've
got "X-Men 3" in 2006, but after that? I say POTA2 for 2008, the 40th
anniversary. It's time, Fox. - - - Jeff

Not something
I'm getting excited about Jeff, unless they accidentally get it right of
course!
Michael
Fox has announced they're doing a sequel
to "Alien vs. Predator". That movie was very poorly received and I think it
only did so-so (though Fox head Tom Rothman called it a "big success" in the
sequel announcement). But if they're scraping the bottom of the barrel for an
A vs. P sequel then a POTA sequel should be a no brainer (a perfect fit for
Fox!). POTA2001 did much better than A vs. P even given the bigger budget. And
you know what they say about sci-fi sequels: "Where there's one, there's
another. And another. And another. And ano - " , you get the point. Plus
they've announced "Garfield 2". That's sci-fi, isn't it?
Then there's Marvel comics, which has
announced they are going to produce their own movies and distribute them
through Paramount. Fox has "X-Men", and this summer's "Fantastic Four", but
after that the well is dry. What are they going to do for their summer
tentpoles? They've got "X-Men 3" in 2006, but after that? I say POTA2 for
2008, the 40th anniversary. It's time, Fox. - - -

Roddy was a very private person and never
talked about himself or his friends. That's something that comes through in the
"Biography" episode about Roddy. You ccould tell Roddy anything and not worry
about it.
But his preference appears in books and
stuff (by other parties, not by Roddy). He didn't try to hide it in the sense of
having a "girlfriend" or marrying (which was common for gays in the '60's). On
the other hand, if Roddy really was gay, why would he turn down the opportunity
to make the movie with Brent? Isn't he dreamy? - - - Jeff

He probably had "friends" on the set who
may have turned up in some of the footage that could have swayed the
ambigouos image he tryed so hard to keep. You didn't have to do a whole
lot of research to see that Roddy may have been a little different than
most leading men. A subject he tastefully avoided all those
years.

Here is the very latest:
Is
Palisades
looking at more than one version of Taylor
in the first wave, since you have the likeness
rights?
Yeah I think I am...I'd like to do an astronaut and a loin cloth one if I
can...just not sure yet what the budget will allow.
We have thrashed this around on the Planet of
the Apes Discussion Group and all are pretty much agreed this is a good list of
what we would like to see:
Taylor
Dr. Zaius
Cornelius
Dr. Zira
Lucius
President of the Assembly
Dr. Honorius
Dr. Maximus
Julius
Hunt Leader
Marcus (Head of Security Police)
Nova
What do others think of this?
I think those are all great character choices and I would even add some into
the mix, certainly a horse and some Gorilla variations.
Is there ANY possibility that Palisades will sell
individual(or
sets) of these(as well as other) "blind-packaged" figures in it's
fan-club store? This may eleviate a
bit of the frustration for some and allow Palisades
to sell directly WITHOUT any packaging at all.
Just a thought...at least for the short-packed figures.
Isn't cutting-out the middle-man altogether an option to sell some product,
as-well-as increasing membership at the same time?
Unfortunately no..I wish it
were that simple but it isn't. Please note that no decisions have been finalized
about T2 or POTS regarding blind packaging.
