and taught the apes to revolt. But when the scrolls were written by the Lawgiver, he might have left that part out because of the hatred towards the human race.
What do you think about my theory?
Kevin
I agree that during the apes revolt, they would have had help from some humans. Humans might even play a major role in the revolt but are not given any credit by the Lawgiver. Elaine

As funny as it was the message was quite an eyeopener as well since
there is some basic truth in the way that 'religion' works. Wonder
what the Lawmaker has to say about all this. So far Uncle Manny has
got the other DG's "Lessons From The Lawgiver" beat.

I do like the
"lessons" that Elaine was involved in, but I think it is sad that they
essentially used these as gutless means to attack people. All this while
they prettend attacks are not allowed. Attacks sure are allowed, even
encouraged, just not on the chosen ones.

How could you kill Burke so abruptly and VIOLENTLY. (I do like they
way you messed up his pretty little face before the end panel) And
what is going on with Virdon wandering around the dessert in a dress
screaming out old show tunes? His mind finally couldn't hold on? I
guess there was alot of strain he felt he was dealing with. I mean,
if I landed on a planet of talking apes who wanted me dead I'd lose
my mind also. Burke's loss finally sent him over the edge? I did
think that the blood in the panels of Galen's torture was a little
gratuitous. I mean, if he was bleeding that bad I don't think he
would have had the strength to say all those horrible things about
Urko's Mother. Maybe it wasn't all his blood. Maybe the apes don't
clean that room to intimidate their victims. I don't know. Maybe you
two should lay off the caffine for a little while.

Thanks, Michael. It's good to be back. I've been catching up on group e-mails. Neil was very kind and sent me the most recent 4 strips from Within and I was happy to see that you've finally revealed the
identity of Dr. Garvon's assistant. The mutant-influenced fight amonst the gorillas was also a nice touch. Hopefully you and Neil won't make us wait too long before you reveal the next few strips.
You can add my name to the list of people who want to see the next few pages of Going Home.

that his character be killed off so that he would not be called upon
again to reprise his Taylor role. However, if I'm not mistaken, he
was not supposed to be the one who actually pushed the button that
blew up the planet. I think that it was a improvised scene (suggested
by Heston?) to actually have him crawl up to the podium to
simultaneously die and hit the button.
I actually think this was a great final sendoff 'message' being ironic
in that he was the one who agonized the over destruction of
the 'civilized' Earth in POTA (ie "Damn THEM all to hell") and later
himself commiting the similar act. It also ties in so nicely with his
own hatred of what mankind in general as he demonstrates in his
discussions with Landon and Dodge after first landing on POTA.
I also like it so much, because Heston, THOUGHT he put the final nail
in the POTA series, only to be outdone later.

Torture scenes? What torture scenes? Oh you mean the scenes of that
gorgeous hunk Pete stripping his shirt off? Drawing those panels
really was torture and certainly made me squirm! ;-)

Oh dear I am
getting a mental image - THANKS NEIL!
All right
Neil, I think we can upload the next installment.
I must say
however, the intention is to generate discussion....so it would be in your own
best interest to....DISCUSS the comic....otherwise you may be waiting to buy
them on the news stand.
So should we
send it to individuals or upload?

Ahhh...good
point! I tried to get Neil to draw naked Rillas but he declined!
;)
Actually they
are invading gorillas, much like the party in Beneath that came through and tore
the place up.
But this time
the mutants actually do unto them what they did unto Brent and Taylor - play
with their heads.
SO while I
agree with your point, these gorillas have just come in through the door and are
not being held.

Like I said -
it's getting DARK!
There's no "OK guys now bare your chests" here - they
are going to reveal their inner most, human (and ape) selves instead and they
are not going to forgive people who try to kill them and play
nice!
You wait - I
have the remainder of the comic here (pencilled) and this is (typically) some of
Neil's best stuff.
At the moment
I am trying to decide whether to go ahead with the page sequences (which begin
to intermingle the various things going on) or change them to a more "gathered"
format.
HOLY CRAP! This story takes balls.

I thought eleven of the scouts were captured and interrogated before the mutants disposed of them, and the twelfth escaped (or was allowed to escape). Sure, the mutants could force them to kill each other as soon as
they're within psychic range, but then they wouldn't learn anything about the gorillas' plans.
I don't think the number has religious significance here, but it's certainly a significant amount of scouts to lose in an area that's supposed to be devoid of life. There should've been a thorough
investigation after the third or fourth.

With all the
religious allegry being claimed for these movies I thought maybe the gorillas
were being compared to the apostles! :)
Michael
I thought eleven of the scouts were captured and interrogated before the
mutants disposed of them, and the twelfth escaped (or was allowed to escape).
Sure, the mutants could force them to kill each other as soon as they're
within psychic range, but then they wouldn't learn anything about the
gorillas' plans.
I don't think the number has religious significance here, but it's
certainly a significant amount of scouts to lose in an area that's supposed to
be devoid of life. There should've been a thorough investigation after the
third or fourth.

12 a random number or did it have religious significance?

Michael
OK, that
makes sense. I assumed they were two of the twelve scouts Ursus
mentioned.

.htmlThe latest installment of Going Home is great. The scenes are dark and
haunting (scary). The main characters closely resembles characters in the TV
series. I cannot wait for the next installment. Keep up the good work.
This is better than a Sci-Fi/Horror Soap Opera or any other soap opera.
Neither Days of Our Lives nor Dark Shadows could top this.

waiting too long, so just send them tomorrow.
BTW, I have a similar problem in that I am sometimes at work when
reading/respoding to these emails. When at work, I don't have access
to the stuff I received in the past so I'm not sure what strip number
I have or don't have. Also, some older emails I keep, but only on the
home server. All incoming emails are visible both from home/work, but
once I view them from home, they are downloaded there, and I no longer
have access to them from work.

for my Aperoom.....Astronaut Brent and Prisoner
Taylor. As we all know Taylor is pretty much the same
dude as before but with mutant clothes, a rifle and
one of those pointy iron weapons.......and
LIPSTICK......why do they paint these so dark? On the
box his lips and hair are fair but they are very dark
on the figure....
Brent as we feared is the original picture we saw
months ago....doesn't look like Franciscus.....maybe
they couldn't get rights to his image as you don't see
his face on the box at all....you can only see his
back and Mendez's back as well......maybe they don't
want us comparing!!!
.anyway he comes with an oxygen mask (for trying to
keep Skipper alive!), a shovel (for when he can't!),
dogtags, and an empty water bottle. He looks more like
Landon or even Vincent Price....
but I gotta say I get a thrill when I see brand new
POTA stuff.....
Now waiting for Ursus!

And was 12 a random number or did it have religious significance? :)
Michael
OK, that makes sense. I assumed they were two of the twelve scouts Ursus mentioned.

Was it because

myself as the model!!)

I am a little suprised though, I did know they were going
with 'classic' Apes but assumed that they meant it would be set in the
3955 era. An apes revolt sounds like Conquest stuff or maybe they are
having some sort of ape revolt later on? Interesting. <.html

There is some news out of the con.
There is another Planet of the Apes comic coming out sometime in the fall of
2005. The only thing I know that the story that I have seen is about
the apes revolt. That is all I have known so far, I still need to get
some more info. I will get back back with you tomorrow.

I saw the Zira / Taylor / Zaius 3-Pack in another catalogue
yesterday. This time instead of the Johnson Smith Co.
it was Betty's Attic.

Or could it be that Apemania are back up to their old tricks?
I saw a pic of the Viz booth in the latest edition of Newtype.

I really was looking forward to more adventures on the 'real' Planet
of the Apes myself.

That's exactly what happened. The Franciscus family said "No" to Sideshow. I heard that from someone.

I got the Going Home pages but I don't know if I got the Within.
I remember 41. Can we check the group home page for the
latest releases. Or are they not being archived?
