That was it.
Before writing WITHIN I sat and watched
PLANET 3 times taking copious notes.
Of course, that was annoying, so I watched
it a fourth time and refused t take notes.

Or
could it be that maybe some members of the Academy might have been spies for Dr.
Zaius and could have been watching the scientist like Zira, Cornelius and Dr.
Galen. If Cornelius had a DECOY SITE to try to keep it secret from Dr.
Zaius and the Council it was not a secret if he took members from the
Academy and some of them might have been loyal to the council and Dr.
Zaius. When Zaius said that Cornelius exceeded his orders and his travel
permit was cancelled immediately, to me that Zaius already knew where Cornelius
archealogy site was located. But when Dr. Milo and a assistant who he had
trusted found the spaceship on the eastern seaboard he only told two other,
Cornelius and Zira, Dr. Milo already knew that some members of the Academy
was not to be trusted because they might go to Zaius and the council.

.htmlThese are good theories. I don't have much of an issue with the
tracking part of the movie. I'm sure Julius woke up pretty quickly
after Taylor and Luscius knocked him out. So Zauis and his gorillas
were probably only about a half hour behind Taylor, Zira & co.
My biggest issue with the 5 movie saga is how Milo was able to
retrieve the space ship. If it was that easy, why didn't Taylor,
Dodge & Landon do it? The only thing I can imagine is that the body
of water the ship was in receded a few months after the ship landed,
leaving it high and dry.

.htmlI never had a problem with this. Zauis is smart enough to realize
that the work Cornelius was doing in the caves was important. Not that
he wanted to let all the other apes in on it, but for his own
knowledge, and knowledge for Zauis is power. My take on it has always
been that Zaius allowed Cornelius to work in those caves while at the
same time suppressing the information he got from Cornelius from
others. Zauis certainly had the power to control whatever reports
Cornelius may have been writing. We have enough evidence in other
scenes that Cornelius was always timid and unlike Zira, tended
followed orders, so Zauis simply kept him on a tight leash. We even
have scenes where Cornelius jumps to try to please Zauis. Zauis only
had the cave blown up at the end when it was exposed to everyone there
including a bunch of Gorillas. He knew then that it would be best to
blow it up despite the information it may contain. He knew all along
about the cave from Cornelius including how to get there.

So Zauis
and his gorillas were probably only
about a
half hour behind Taylor, Zira & co
I don't know about that. Taylor had time to
shave after breakfast, so it was probably
more than an hour or two. However long
it takes to wake up some gorillas and
saddle their horses. But they couldn't
have been too far behind, since the
first thing they would have done
the next morning after setting
up camp would have been to
check out the cave, and they
hadn't done that yet.

I'm not sure how much info Zaius felt he could glean from the diggings
at the Cave. As he said, he had always known about Man. Though
if
he was going to let anyone excavate it, it would have been Cornelius.
Someone he could control. Of course he couldn't have known a
couple
of wild cards like Zira and Taylor would come along and turn
Cornelius
into a loose cannon. But as he said, "In a way, you've done the
Sate
a service, by allowing us to expose Zira & Cornelius." even
though he
knew that the prosecutor's charges that she'd created him was
bullshit.

Within the Planet of the Apes from the very first
episode (and you want to see it in better detail than in the
scaled down versions that we have been revisiting daily) you can find all the
chapters released so far at the DG Photos (storage!)
group.
They have been collected as pages in PDF format by one of the
hardest working Apes fan out there, the one and only Greg
Plonowski.
I drew them and some bloke called Whitty wrote
them.

.htmlDoug & Dinsdale were based on real English gangsters named Reg and
Ronnie Kray. (Get it? Kray fish, Pirhana fish.) There was a movie
based on their lives called "The Krays" about 15 years ago. They did
beat people up in unusual ways, carved smiles on peoples' faces, etc.

To all our recently joined new
members - welcome!
Feel free to jump in and contribute if a subject
takes your fancy, or please start one
up yourself!
An
original ongoing comic strip called
Within the
Planet of the
Apes can be found
in the files
section of the group or you can just click on the handy link on the Home
Page to view the
latest chapters!
If you want to read Within
from the very first episode (and you want to see it
in better detail than in the scaled down versions that we have been
revisiting daily) you can find all the chapters released so far at the
DG Photos
group.
They have been collected
as pages in PDF format.
Make
sure you also read the new Planet of
the Apes
TV Show comic book
- Going H
ome!
Go to the Home
Page, scroll down to around the
middle of the page and click on the
link to take you to the
pages finished so
far.
And new for your
viewing pleasure - Uncle Manny's
Musings! A light hearted look at the world from one
of our wisest (Ha!) apes
.
Check out the Home Page for a
link to his latest piece of wisdom!
;-)
Don't forget we also have
3 other groups 'attached' to the main
one.
First up there is
the DG Archives
group:
This group was created to store old posts from the group
which have been deleted from the main site. We have to do this periodically to free up space
as Yahoo does not allot much space to the groups anymore.
As this group is
so active we tend to fill up very quickly and instead of losing old posts
forever we like to keep a copy of them all. They can be found in the Files
section listed by month and year.
There is
also the DG Fan
Fiction group where members can place, in th
e group's Files section,
their Fan Fiction stories, poems etc. to be enjoyed
by all:
Finally there's
the DG
Photos group:
Where photos
and files
are occasionally moved to save space on the main DG
group
All the sites
can be easily accessed via the links on each
one's Homepage.
Don't
forget to check out the DG 's vast Photos
section and all that great stuff in the Files section!
And w
hilst you're here
why not participate in a Poll or check out all
those
wonderful links and generally
have a fun filled family
experience!

As someone previously said the only scene like that was in the original novel. It was the night after they apes release Ulysese (sp?) and Zira and Cornelius take
him to a club. They don't stay for too long because he starts thinking about professor Antelles (again not sure on the spelling). The hunt scene in mostly with gorillas and their mates at the lodge.

I agree with that. It was a pleasure to find not one but two new Within strips in my inbox while catching up on e-mails.
Not sure how I feel about Milo regarding the ships as monstrosities, though. While we don't get to know him that well in Escape because of is limited screen time, I have to think that as a scientist he's
more fascinated with the ship. Otherwise, why restore it and use it?
Just 10 more to go until I can make the next PDF file.

My thinking here is that Milo
is not yet the hard,
curious scientist me meet later.
Actually, he’s struggling with the
gap between science and faith….he gave up Garvon
(and that led to Garvon’s murder), essentially because he believed Garvon’s
conclusions were heresy. He is now
carrying on with a façade in order to survive – going along with Zaius as the dying Garvon
suggested he do.
The ship is a monstrosity – it is
something Zaius himself would struggle to “moderate”
because it is indeed evidence of something “better” and Garvon is seeing it amongst “human” (or Mutant”)
remains.
It’s also really big so that might
be why he is calling it a monstrosity!
;)

Well that puts me in a dilemma. What can you really do in an un-moderated
group?
Dan, I know YOU know what I’m going
through here!
Anyway nothing surprises me any more –
last time we had someone making up fake IDs it was actually someone trying to
accuse me of doing it. Sorta like if I joined another group with the name “Shitty
Whitty” then moaned and bitched and cried and said “they are being
mean to me”.
So should I boot “dumb scheetz”?
Should I moderate him (or her)?
What would you do?
I’ll leave this to the democratic
process.

This person popped in
ages ago and I greeted them with “should I call you dumb or scheetz”?
I actually thought it was Glen being ironic.
Glen’s a great guy and something
like this would really hurt his feelings, so if he has some suggestions as to
what approach I could take to this I would welcome his comments.

Like I said earlier we don't need this sort of thing over here and
in the past we have culled vast numbers of 'fakes' left behind on
this group when we took over the running of it and we shouldn't be
afraid to do that again.
Does this 'dumb' person have anything to say on this matter?

OK you will be replaced by some fake person anyway!).
About the only thing
they have managed that ain’t totally LAME is a talk with Ty and Jo and
guess what…..everyone except Glen and James got shut out of the
conversation! I never would have
guessed….. ;) I got lots of
reports from people that they submitted questions and these were never asked.
You are wasting good energy, Cougar, on

No, not at all.
I'm just saying that theory of his is crazy.
As far as getting away with it. I only referenced
it as an example of theories with no basis in the
POTA canon. If someone wants to put forth a
theory that's fine. But they should be able to
defend that theory with "facts" that are debatable.
Rather than just making up a bunch of stuff and
saying "Here's what I think happened." Why?
What makes them think that? I could make up
anything to explain stuff away. But give me a
line of dialogue or something where I can say,
yes I agree, or no I don't. It's like when Taylor
explained what the artifacts where. Then Zaius
say he could come up with alternate explanations
that were just as ingenious as his. But then he
says it would be conjecture, not proof. That's
all I'm saying. I don't go in for fad theories.
Give me something solid you've built this
"theory" on if you want me to read an overly
long post. Life is to short to read BS theories.
I barely have time to read and ponder concise
logical theories. No time for Mutha-Ships.

I didn't think that Apepocalypse was Pat.
Just that his theory seemed over thought
out, but not thought through and had no
basis on anything in POTA. And from
the responses, I wasn't the only one
thinking that. Could it be Patrick
typing in a fake accent? It's
a possibility, if he's banned.

Just wanted to comment on the newest Within strips!! Very awesome!
Love the idea of making Milo a real active member on this strip. I
think I may have an idea where this is going but I won't say because
one, I am proably wrong. And Two, if I am right, I don't want to give
any thing away.
As always, the art work is excellent. I see the sister site has the
previous ones wraped up in pdf files. Will these be put in pdf files
as well?
Keep up the great work guys!!!

Strip
Hey guys
Just wanted to comment on the newest Within
strips!! Very awesome!
Love the idea of making Milo a real active member
on this strip. I
think I may have an idea where this is going but I
won't say because
one, I am proably wrong. And Two, if I am right, I
don't want to give
any thing away.
As always, the art work is excellent. I see the
sister site has the
previous ones wraped up in pdf files. Will these
be put in pdf files
as well?
Keep up the great work guys!!!
John
