Lennon also used the name on "Rock and Roll", his covers album just
before he retired to became a house husband. It's on the lead in to
the last track, can't remember what the last track is at the moment
and the cat is preventing me from looking :)

Don’t want to spoil it for you…..
But I will ask – who do you think
would be more likely to make guest appearances on a revamped TV Show……Naugton or Ron Harper?

This is something many fanfic

Well, I
do hope if you kill any of them off it will be Alan. I can relate to Pete so
much better then Alan?

Probably Ron Harper. James Naughton seemed like he didn't have anything nice to say about the show. I just thought as far as the characters went I related with him the best. <.html

I think it's simply because everyone (meaning the
general public) always thinks of Roddy when they hear
about POTA.....so they use pics of Cornelius or Caesar
for recognition....and I think that THEY think that no
one (in the general public) could tell one chimp from
another....
they are probably all based on this photo......

It's only disappointing when you compare it to the original, which nothing

Yes, that is the image used on the video covers, and it's the model for the "Ultimate Edition" bust.
I don't like it because I don't think McDowall's Caesar makeup is as good as Cornelius' in the original. Look at booth and tell me what you think.

I like Pete better then Alan I guess because he excepted his situation and went on with it whereas Alan cried like a little girl. I do realize being stranded in the future of talking apes and the world
being destroyed would be a big shock to the system to say the least so I do feel for Alan I guess. It just seemed he ran things and wouldn't except it and they went on Gods good humor from place to place. Lets face
it if I was Pete I would have left Alan, knowing you wont find a city, let alone a computer and any kind of technology. I like Pete because he seems carefree in a lot of ways like me and he thinks he's Gods
gift to woman. When I was younger I was a lot like him. <.html

It took them 3 times to get the Maltese Falcon right, but don't
remake

As you all know, Neil can imitate the style of various
artists.
For the new group comic, should we ask him to do a certain
style other than his own?
I was thinking the “Batman – The Animated Series”
style….
Neil, you got a variety of apes drawn in this style you
could share with us?
If so could you please send as individual emails – I can’t seem to

Let
me add my song of praise to Neil here…..
Not only does he spend hours a day making
and uploading home page pictures and other bits and pieces for us to discuss,
but he actually provides us with comics of an excellent standard and asks for
nothing in return other than a few comments (and recently he has not even been
getting these!).
Neil does get depressed by the lack of
input, so if anyone else wants to remind him that he IS appreciated…..now
might be a good time. I know for
sure Neil HAS got better things to do with his time…..

Alcala and Ploog have nostalgia on their side. I liked the unusual stuff that Ploog came up with, as well. Neil's artwork is brilliant, but we're mostly seeing familiar types of characters and settings.
I'd like to see some Ploogian mutant animals, drones, shamblers, and yes, even giant brains in jars.

www.tvshowsondvd.com has more from Fox.
Ape-parently the "Return to the POTA" cartoon show won't be available separate
from the "Ultimate Collection" on March 28th. What I understand is they are
redoing it so it can be released separately as a single disc (in the collection
it's 2 discs). So I GUESS they are going to cram them all onto one disc, which
sucks. I'd rather pay for 2 discs, like they did with "Clone Wars" (Vol.1, Vol.
2).
We'll see how the dust settles on that but
in the meantime those not getting the Ultimate Collection (like me) will have to
wait. - - - Jeff

This didn't confuse me. What I'm still puzzling over is the motivation of the new bad guys, the SF humans. They dug Pete and Galen (and maybe Alan) out of the rubble that fell on them from the earthquake,
which must have been quite an undertaking. Clearly the SF humans want something from Pete and Galen, otherwise why go to all that trouble? Why not just leave them to die? Yet they gave up on questioning Pete pretty
quickly, and don't seem as interested in questioning Galen so much as torturing him. Again, they must have expended a lot of energy rescuing the pair (trio?)and transporting them. I hope it was for more than the
cheap thrill of cutting up an ape. Hopefully we'll learn more about their motivations when we meet the mysterious Mustapha, but right now these villains are just coming off as mean and one-dimensional. Say what you
will about the TV series and how 'dated' it seems by today's standards of drama, but at least the antagonists had clear motivations and weren't
just evil for evil's sake. Urko and Zaius were trying to preserve the simian way of life. They saw themselves as patriots and heroes. Hopefully the coming pages will tell us a little more about Ponytail and Gorilla
Vest. Greg Michael Whitty <whitty@...> wrote:

I like it, too, but I agree it would look better without the black panel. If you can't drop out the panel and just have the type, perhaps a different color could be used for the panel.

I love Neil's work, and can't wait to see the pages of Going Home beyond the ones I've seen previously, despite my misgivings about the story itself, which I'm trying to keep an open mind about. Page
12 may just be my favorite page of the ones posted so far, but if I recall correctly the next page has some nice images for TV series fans as well.
I see Neil's art everyday, as I use the card set wrapper art for my wallpaper both on my home and work PCs, and I've got the BtB color print on my wall at work.
I'd love to see him get a shot at illustrating a back-up story for Revolution or the next mini-series. (Heck, I'd love to see him draw the main story for the next mini series, but I figure Ty needs someone
with more of a 'name' to sell the book. Heck, even if Neil was just doing a pin-up in one of the Apes comics, I'd buy a dozen extra copies.

True, we only see Alan fall into a hole in the ground and get buried under some rubble. But there's a fair bit of it in the panels where we see Pete and Galen get struck on the heads (and some fairly large
pieces in Galen's apanel) so I think it's a fair extrapolation that there would be a decent amount of rubble surrounding and or covering their bodies. Not to mention that with the big hole that opened up and
swallowed Alan, I'd be a little nervous about venturing into the area and retrieving any bodies, risking my life just so I could torture someone. That's why I'm thinking there must be more to Ponytail and
Gorilla Vest than we've seen so far and that this will come to light in the remaining pages, perhaps after we've met Mustapha. Greg

It's clear from Gorilla Vest's attire that these SF humans have been taking the fight to the apes, unlike many of the humans we encountered in the TV series. I'm just curious about what they want
specifically from Pete and Galen (and maybe Alan). They clearly don't like Galen because he's an ape, but they also took an instant dislike to Pete. They didn't just assume he was Galen's servant and
offer to rescue him from Galen's servitude so he could join them in their fight against the apes. They were instantly hostile to Pete. They call him an ape lover, although Ponytail calls Galen a liar when he says
Pete and Alan are his friends, an interesting contradiction. Greg

I'm not saying the SF humans don't have valid reasons for being the way they are, I'm just saying I'd like a little more info about them than what's been presented. All of what you say below may
be part of the backstory that you and Mike have worked out, but it would be nice to have some hints of that in the story itself. Maybe this information comes out later in the story when we meet Mustapha (assuming we do
meet him in these 222 pages). Ponytail's hatred doesn't seem to be restricted just to apes given the way he treats Pete. If they're trying to mount an insurgency against the apes, wouldn't they need as
many human recruits as they could get? Greg Neil <nfoster@...> wrote:

Nice to see that former Prefect Veska, second cousin to Galen (on his mother's side) did not have his political career derailed by his association with Galen, much like Yalu's career has also seemed to
thrive.
Interesting that Wanda is now on the council. I would have preferred to have seen Carsia instead. Would be interesting to imagine how she changed her plans from trying to overthrow the council to working within the
system instead.
I thought the map was in Urko's office rather than the council chambers. I suppose it's possible that sometime in the past 9 years it could have been copied or moved.
I find Zaius thinking here very interesting. perhaps one of those ancient human books in his office is by Mario Puzo. Keep your friends close, but keep your enemies closer.

Greg,
Did you see the eyeball on a previous
page?
Ponytail has been WATCHING them walking
through SF and talking/acting like friends.
Ponytail and Gorilla Vest viciously guard
SF City and their fortress (another piece I had to use from Dave Ballard’s
story).
Future pages will show you that they ARE
quite anti-apes and they DO love to torture them and kill them and….well,
you’ll see!
As for the “contradiction”……Ponytail
is obviously a bit paranoid. He
thinks Galen, Pete and Alan are scouts, sussing out SF. When Galen says “those humans are my
friends and…”, ponytail is not hearing “We
are spies and we have an army coming” so he starts swinging. He’s not real smart Greg….sorry! ;)
