Aim the gun at the cans and shoot, to aim press the shift button to
get the cross hair. In the back room is a can of gas by a wall that
blows the wall open when it explodes and you run threw it.
Thanks Tom.

They're not releasing these new DVDs in PAL in your region?!!!
That makes no sense. I would wait and see what the real story is.

PS
I too am a bit "over it." PLANET will always be my favorite movie, but I'm just not that obsessed with this stuff anymore. I have the posters and Sideshow figures displayed in my apartment, but
it's just background.

I know what you mean, but it bothers me they don't have the APES films, only an old VHS of BENEATH. What's up with that?!!!

Hummmmmm....
I'm not that "over it." Besides, you probably would balk at the prices. I've a couple posters I'd have to ask over $1000.00 each for.

They are $30 unpainted, $40 painted. Shipping in the USA is $4.55,
elsewhere, email me so we can figure out the best option for getting it
to you. They are made of a rubber/vinyl [?] and made to fit on a
Sideshow POTA body for easy switching. I prefer payment by USPO money
order if in the States but will accept paypal if you are willing to
cover the extra fees. I think it was like an extra $2.00. Any other
questions/comments, feel free to email me direct. <.html

basically bullshit. Oh, it's all based on sound theory, but not
possible. POTA depends on suspension of disbelief. My suspension
only goes so far. Anyway, a "causality loop" is a nice idea, but I
reject it for the film series. I go with the alternate timeline
scenario. Can the future be changed? I vote YES!
>
> If the future can't be changed, and the world of POTA is doomed to

The "causality loop" universe of Patrick and others throws the whole
of POTA into an abyss of meaninglessness.

I'll donate my pan-&-scan tapes to the local library -- though I
think they're phasing out the VHS tapes in favor of DVDs. It'd be
hard, though, given the sentimental value of anything that is classic-
POTA related. I never did go all-out collecting POTA2K stuff, so it
doesn't bother me if I don't have an Ari action figure, or stuff like
that. If I had just one DVD copy of Burton's POTA to watch

donate some POTA re-imagined stuff, since it doesn't have the
sentimental value.

there will be a graphic novel and if that goes well there will be more POTA comics).
And Ty, what’s CHURCHDOOR?

Well, I'm a bit late but I finally collected my second issue.
My only complaint, and this goes for all comics, is that I find the format very frustrating. Just as you are getting into the story it ends and you have to wait another 4-6 weeks for the
next part. This is even more evident with 'Revolution' because the headline story is only half of the actual book.
In both issues so far I've actually preferred the back up story but the real test is yet to come. That will be when we have all six issues and can read 'Revolution' from start
to finish.
Still, I'm totally hooked. It's far better than I expected or could have hoped for. The main story is progressing nicely and the new elements being introduced are logical and
thought-provoking. It's great to see this franchise being handled so well by the Pro's and having an end product that we can enjoy and not just tolerate. Is there any word from the producers if this
liscense has any life beyond this six issue series? I sure hope so.
So, let the speculation begin... What is 'Churchdoor'?
St Paul's
cathederal? Alpha Omega?

Don't you mean St. Patrick's Cathedral? The Alpha-Omega Bomb
in "BENEATH" is in St. Patrick's Cathedral -- the same place where,
not so long ago, a NYC radio station persuaded a couple to do the
wild thing, which led to arrests and a lawsuit and the firing of the
DJs in question.
Speaking of St. Patrick's Cathedral (no relation to me, by the way,
except that my birthday -- March 1st -- led to me being named after
St. Patrick, since it's in the same month as St. Patrick's Day)...
wouldn't it be a gas if a bunch of POTA fans were to get Mutant
makeups put on our faces, and put on 'normal'-looking face masks over
that, then dress in long white/grey robes... show up for a Mass...
and then, en masse, chant in unison "I REVEAL MY INMOST SELF UNTO MY
GOD!"
And then take off the 'normal' mask to reveal the hideous mutant
faces beneath 'em.
I heard that NASA dudes had plans to dress up in ape suits when John
Glenn returned from his shuttle flight several years ago, as part of
a POTA joke. Somebody nixed the idea, though, which is too bad. Nice
to know that NASA remembers POTA, though, isn't it?

Russo said it was OK to post this here:
First, may I remind Rich that the release of the Tim Burton movie
(which I pretty much despised) fortunately did make possible the
publication of the book PLANET OF THE APES REVISITED,which sat in
limbo for
years without publishers interest, and which I co-authored.Because of
the Buton/Apes hubub, the greedy publsihers figured they could jump
on the back of the movie publicity.Fortunately, though,it made it
possible for us to finally get the thing published,so that is the
extent of my regard for the remakes' existence.
Regarding the continued "should I or shouldn't I" squabble over
purchasing the costly new "ultimate" Ape-head set...it is a
difficult
choice for many I think because, frankly, the only elements to
recommend it
are two; anamorphic transfers and animated series.Personally,I know
of no one salivating for the animated series, although there are
several out there I'm sure.
This release is simply
FOX tempting the
loyal APES completist to re-purchase alot of material they already
own.(Why were the last transfers in the 2000 box set not
anomorphic)? On the flip side,we as fans would like to support APES
releases
as incentive and encouragment for future released product. So it is a
double edged sword. On one hand,we want to support the APES item,on
the other hand,we DON'T want to cast our "vote" for a shoddy product
that we really aren't crazy about (like the Hasbro figures of
several years ago).
I think the concept of a mega-ape set is good, but why none of the
extras that would truly make it a must-own purchase instead of a
pretty
dubious rehash? Extended still gallery, unedited full-length
interviews that were done with cast members for the AMC BEHIND
documentary.More of Roddy's home movies (There ARE more!),etc. would
have tipped the scales for folks like myself whi STILL aren't
certain if it's a good idea.
Perhaps because Fox is holding off on that material and 5 or 10
years from now there will yet
ANOTHER "ultimate" set---mark my words.

.html T,
Just need to clarify something buddy, because an irate individual has just
emailed me regarding something you posted elsewhere....
Neil is NOT doing a new Bounty Hunter story.
There's a SPOOF entitled Bounty the Hunter....Neil has started this and
might one day get back to finishing it but it is LOW on the list of
priorities.
Priority one is the new comic, set Down Under. Neil is currently
researching solar vehicles and designing futuristic versions of these based
on existing prototypes.
We are also discussing clothing - what are our humans and apes going to be
wearing? If it is the standard POTA garb - how can we justify it? Maybe
the apes "aped" the clothes from humans? Whatever......it is a tough call
and when we make it that will be it so if anyone has a comment, now is the
time or forever hold your piece (sic).
This is the story I previously mentioned where we do a "POTA BEGINS"
scenario. It will be easy enough to squeeze in as a "prequel" to POTA but
it won't be intended as such.
There IS a Bounty Hunter (Juba) story that Dave Ballard gave Neil and I to
use if and when we please. It's a good story but Dave said he feels it
needs a re-writre (as he said about "Monument" which was not used either).
The Juba story is set in the TV Show environment. Neil and I compromised
ourself to extremes to do a TV Show story and it was not well received so we
have finished it in rough only and it will be abandoned. If one day it
looks like it might be published, we have the project ready to pick up and
complete. It was a mistake to compromise my story by keeping the first 3 or
so pages of Monument and re-writing them. It was a mistake to go with the
TV series also, but we did so to hopefully please some TV show fans. That
was a mistake too - they are an ungrateful lot! :)
So to set the record straight - NO bounty hunter comics....sorry!

Within is complete now, and the new strip is going to be a group effort.
T has provided a script and Neil & I like it.
I'd like to combine T's Zira story with a story about Zaius and LAZARUS. I
have an idea what this is going to be about but I'd like someone else in the
group to be involved in writing this story. I thought Rory said he might,
but I could be wrong. If nobody steps up I'll write it myself, but since I
wrote WITHIN, GOING HOME and the new story, I think it's about time some
others get the thrill of seeing their stories brought to life by Neil.
So once we get something combined and all parties are happy with it, we'll
be getting regular strips again.

.html Hi, all,
Some of you know me, but most probably don't. I used to be a member
here, but got burnt on ape fandom for a while and left to focus on
other pursuits. The new Revolution comic from Mr. Comics, however,
has rekindled my interest in the POTA saga, so I thought I'd return
and see what people think of it.
I'll open with my review of the story so far...
As a child of the 70s, I grew up loving the "Apes" films and TV
shows. Every year, my mom and I looked forward to Apes Week on
channel 9, when they showed badly-butchered versions of the 5
films. Before DVDs, before video stories, we relied on TV for our
"Apes" fix, and it was never enough. I read the comics and the
novelizations and I watched the even more badly-butchered TV films
that were made from the Burke/Virdon episodes, but I wished there
were more to the story.
Ever since the Adventure Comics series ended more than a decade ago,
the only licensed "Apes" comics we've had to tide us over have been
Dark Horse's short-lived tie-in to the Burton film. And while that
series was well-written (better than the film, actually), it just
wasn't the same. Then the exceedingly talented Dave Ballard and Neil
Foster published their online "Apes" comic, "Beware the Beast," which
reminded me how much I missed the classic "Planet of the
Apes." Around that same time, Mike Whitty located a set of
incredibly rare POTA comics based on the TV series that were only
published in Argentina, and I had a lot of fun being among those who
translated them into English for the fans. (The translations are
available online, though I don't know the URL off-hand. I'm almost
finished putting together my own set of the originals, too. I'd be
interested in knowing if anyone but me and Mike has these, as I've
not seen them anywhere.)
Although Beware was brilliant and the Argentine comic project was a
hoot, I missed the fun of picking up new licensed stories at my local
comic shop. Thus, when I heard that Mr. Comics was presenting the
long-untold story of Caesar's revolution, I got that same feeling
again I used to get as a kid whenever Apes Week was approaching. --
finally, the classic apes were returning...long live the king!
Needless to say, I haven't been disappointed. The first two issues
of "Revolution on the Planet of the Apes" have been amazing. The
"Apes" team has done a fantastic job of capturing the look and feel
of the films, and the transition from "Conquest" to "Battle" is
playing out in a very entertaining, unpredictable and yet logical
manner. Ty's version of Earth is a great amalgam of "Conquest"'s
world of 1991 and our own world, 15 years later, with comments about
the National Guard and other aspects of the Iraq War lending the
story a definite relevance to our own reality. I appreciated the
irony that the Internet apparently developed as a mainstream media
source a decade earlier on the "Apes" Earth than it did on our own,
even though the "Apes" version of our government is far more openly
oppressive than the real one is is. I can't wait to see how this all
plays out.
The story of Aldo's own revolution at Area 51 is fantastic -- I can't
wait to see how that plays out. And the side stories at the end have
been a real treat as well. I'm crossing my fingers that we find out
the names of the two MacDonald brothers before this is over.
An interesting tidbit, according to the Marvel series "Terror on the
Planet of the Apes" saga, the president in power at the time of the
nuclear war survived the devastation by hiding inside Mount Rushmore,
where he eventually died alone after several years of solitude. I've
always loved the Marvel series, and it'd be wild if Ty had President
Trundy ultimately take refuge in Mount Rushmore at the end of
Revolution, as homage to the fine work of Doug Moench. (I'm not
saying I predict that will happen, mind you...just that it'd be a cool homage.)
Anway...opinions?
Rich
P.S. Although I'm set to receive my e-mails as daily digests, I'm
still getting them individually. Any idea why that's happeneing, and
how to fix it? Thanks. <.html

Warriors" that I've been looking for. I love it when I get new Lp's to
add to the collection. Up to around 2500 now, not counting
duplicates. :)

a humorus banter with Hunter Goatly. I never thought it was a serious
option. Just having some fun. I remember when we used to do that
here. Have fun.

I can't. The scans I gave Pentaclese of the rare stills

others should be able to enjoy them as well. However
these aren't ones that I would even sell, so it's not the
same really. It's fun to "share the rare" with everyone.

I never dealt with him at all, but my guess is he'd "keep them to himself", the same way he's been keeping the tapes of him and Ted Post watching BENEATH and he and Don Taylor watching ESCAPE to
himself...<.html

.htmlOh we still do have fun - but some people get the hump! That's the
thing - over the net intentions can get blurred and misinterpreted.
Neil, to clarify, could you PLEASE (when you get a chance) re-post
the Juba sketches and the BOUNTY THE HUNTER strip (where Jurke cops
it)? And could you and John get a room to have some fun please? :)
