Lastly I have followed up with the boss of Rittenhouseon his comments that he would like to see sets made from Greg P's cards. While it will be a hard task, there IS a chance of getting a set out. So now we are
trying to decide which would pre-sell about 500 sets and how much people would pay.
The price would be a deciding factor for me... I bought the "expensive" set, (on eBay) but I don't know how high I'd go on a regular set of cards... Hopefully (if they're made) they will be somewhat
affordable...<.html

They
will be made if we decide on the set we want then get about 500 pre-sold.
What would be a price you would pay Mike? $25?

He does occasionally show up on eBay, so you may want to check there... (He does usually get up there in price though, as does the Forbidden Zone Zaius and the bearded Taylor...)
One thing though, if and when you do go to bid on one on eBay, be sure to make sure that the seller actually has that figure in their possession... I say that because I placed a Buy It Now bid on a (supposed) Forbidden
Zone Zaius, and when it arrived to me, it turned out to bet the regular Zaius... The seller told me that his distributor had that regular one on hand, so that is what was sent to me... He was willing to take it in
return, but I would have been stuck paying the return postage and all, so in the end I really only would have gotten $10 back, so I just kept the damn thing... <.html

Here's an 8x10 still I have from BENEATH. Maybe you
remember it from the Marvel comic it appeared in. It's an old-fashioned composite
still of around seven images from the BENEATH location shoot in Red Rock
Canyon, CA in 1969. Way over on the left you can make out the gorillas
hanging on the inverted crosses on the side of a hill.
I thought maybe Neil would like to do a wide-panel drawing based on this, but
with the Ursus in the middle looking at us. Take some time on it and make
it really detailed.

I'm not that crazy about it. I know the Image of the Ursus is from the LP cover NOT the posters. Phooey to that.
By the way, I haven't even started working on it because I never had the time, but I'll get to it. One problem I've discovered is that I don't have a large photo of Ursus' face. This means
the end result won't be that good.

Even though the scene was cut, Bill just learned he has residuals
that have piled up waiting for him at SAG. Bill does appear, of all things, in

Yes. I met Tom at a card/comic show here in Ottawa last summer. While
I was browsing some of his art, he was talking to someone about some
upcoming projects and he mentioned that there was going to be a new
POTA comic coming around. That's when I started asking a lot of
questions!
I've now read number 2 and find it as interesting as the first. I must
admit that the whole apes flying planes thing takes getting used to. I
would categorize it as a minor complaint in that this type command over
technology was not something that apes seemed even nearly capable of at
the end of Conquest and certainly nothing that was not possible by
Battle. So the conjecture is that there was a 'peak' of understanding
of such things in the interim period. While this is certainly something
that can be employed to make more interesting stories (especially in a
visual medium like comics), it's something that stretches credulity a
bit. But other than that, think that the writing and art in
Revolutions is just great. Looking forward to #3, and #4, and ....

I like that the “telepathy” is

they have been hooked up to some brain enhancement machine. At least there is some thought behind it.....

sets. I can't see that happening myself but we should at least try to get some interest going, stranger things have happened before.

We're absolutely going all the way to the end of our first arc (#6), and then releasing the first arc as a graphic novel (with extras and goodies that we didn't have room for in the regular issues, packed as
they already are).
As to doing a second series, it's entirely contingent on the sales of the graphic novel. That's where the money in comics publishing is nowadays, and we'll know by the middle of this year.

After being described in 'Wizard' as an 'acclaimed' new comic,
Revolution now scores a very impressive 7 out of 10 review in the
current 'Comics International', which beats all of the X-men, Spider-
man and main Batman books, so the guys at MR Comics seem to be putting
out a product that stands not just as an Ape niche product, but also as
an
excellent comic. We can forget the horrors of the Adventure series,
we've
got a bona fide winner of an Apes comic to enjoy! Let's buy it
and support it, to keep it going. John, Scrolls. |

This cover for this week's issue sports several gorillas trying out an early version of the Wolverine costume. Looks better on him, I say. Yellow's just not a good color for gorillas.
In addition to the continuation of the Conquest adaptation, this issue features the first appearance of the application for the UK Fan Club. I won't be including the application again when it reappears in a
later issue, so enjoy it here while you've got the chance.
Finally, a special treat for Pete fans awaits them on the back cover. Hopefully it makes up for the lack of a letter column this week. Enjoy! Greg <.html

OK - so if I start a campaign to pre-sell 500 sets.....what do
we need to do?
My approach would be to:
(1) decide on a set (I am thinking the follow up to the TV
Series would be the best);
(2) get orders!
May I go ahead and discuss with various parties which of Greg's
set they would like to see?
Michael
Hmmm...Probably need to print AND SELL at least
500 sets. I am not opposed to it, but I would not want the
risk.

Steve, is there some way we could do a VERY limited run of
Greg's cards?
I am talking aroiund 50 sets.
If it is possible, what would such an exercise
cost?
My intention is to take pre-paid orders and pay up-front then
have them printed and distribute these....
What are the chances?

we can do any more.

This is one of the extra pages we added after Beware the Beast was
finished. It had originally only been planned as a web comic
released in lots of 3 pages at a time.
After it was finished it was decided to have some copies of it
printed up (by the one and only Greg P, who else?!) and we realised
that it would in fact work better as 2 issues. So to get the page
count even and up to the usual numbers we found we had to create a
few extra pages.
Dave Ballard and Mike Whitty then came up with the extra dialog and
story etc. and the pages slotted in seemlessly with what had already
been released.
Remember as well, this is not the version currently available on
line.

.htmlI can't remeber how Neil because it has been so long since I played
it. But I went to a site called Cheatgoat and downloaded what I call
the instructions on how to complete each segment.
Here is their address

I beat that game and I swear that level was a pain in the ass.
The mine you have to get an apes gun and blow up the barrels of gas. Aim the gun
at the cans and shoot, to aim press the shift button to get the cross hair. In
the back room is a can of gas by a wall that blows the wall open when it
explodes and you run threw it. <.html <.html

.htmlI was so excited when I recieved my printed version of "Beware the
Beast." It was in a smaller ashcan print than most comics but the art
detail is still so much better than trying to view on the computer.

So, just who here plans on getting the new APES DVDs on March 28th, whether it be the Ultimate Edition, or the Legacy set, or just the individual movies?
If you are getting the new DVDs what do you plan on doing with the old ones? I've been thinking I should donate mine to my local branch of the public library. The library lends out DVDs now and I've
noticed they have none of the APES films, but I wonder if there's any reason I should keep them? I don't like the packaging, hate the Statue of Liberty spoiler cover, and don't care for the menus, plus
they have no extras. Might as well kiss 'em good-bye.
Any thoughts?

Good
questions Rory.
Having collected POTA for 11 years now (it’s
mine and Sally’s 11th wedding anniversary today and that’s
around he time I started again), I am now a bit “over it”.
There’s a “head” being
released over here, but I’ll be doing my research – the ad already
says the RETURN will be NTSC, so that’s a bummer (PAL is by far the best
system, IMHO). So if the cheap
bastards are not converting RETURN, there’s a good chance we won’t
be getting new transfers either, and the ad does not claim BATTLE
is the EXTENDED VERSION.
So Down Under, it may REALLY be a raw deal.
So my answer – I’ll be waiting
to see but I probably will just lunge in and buy the US Set (WITHOUT that
stupid, ugly looking head...that costs about the price of a good Don Post
mask!).
The old set? Keep until they do the better transfers
in PAL the ebay (and when they don’t sell on ebay I don’t know what
I’ll do!).
Michael
