Oh yeah, like I said. I'm not mad or offended in any way. Just wanted to say that I am an example of someone who does really enjoy soundtrack albums as much as other music depending on my
mood. When I was younger & enjoyed mellowing out to more than just a beer or two there were many a night I would lay in a chair with the lights down & listen to whatever albums I acquired searching the local flea
markets & good wills. The Omen, the Warriors, One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest, the Last Starfighter, the Black Hole, Theater of Blood.... there were many instrumental albums I would listen to from begining to end & love
every minute of it.
But then again, I will admit I'm a strange one.
Muhahahahahahahaha!!!!

...but to justfy your idea that its not normal to enjoy these things as regular entertainment. I was laying down listening to that Jeff Wayne Space Shuttle Planet of the Apes album while
reading the comics I got the other day when my girlfriend came home. She stood in the doorway of our bedroom for a while before she started laughing & walked away saying "what the Hell is wrong with you?"
You'd be surprised how often I hear that.
Muhahahahahahaha!!!!

Oh yeah, like I said. I'm not mad or offended in any
way. Just wanted to say that I am an example of someone who does really enjoy
soundtrack albums as much as other music depending on my mood. When I was
younger & enjoyed mellowing out to more than just a beer or two there were
many a night I would lay in a chair with the lights down & listen to
whatever albums I acquired searching the local flea markets & good wills.
The Omen, the Warriors, One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest, the Last Starfighter, the
Black Hole, Theater of Blood.... there were many instrumental albums I would
listen to from begining to end & love every minute of it.
But then again, I will admit I'm a strange one.

The first of Fox's revamped sci-fi classics
(which will presumably include a new POTA) is at the starting gate. "Predators"
has signed Adrien Brody to go where Ah-nuld didn't fear to tread.
What? No muscle man like Ah-nuld (or Marky
Mark)? Could this be clearing the way for Woody Allen to face off against Dr.
Zauis?
"Predators" is due to hit theaters next
summer. The new POTA is still M.I.A.

M.I.A. indeed!
I recently spoke to a fellow at Fox (whom
I was referred to by Scott Frank’s office), asking if he could tell me
anything and he said:
“Just that this project is in WAY
too early development to say ANYTHING!”
Read between the lines. Looks like it’s
all too hard again….

It's an interesting idea though, that the change could have resulted in the bomb being stored elsewhere. But if it's not hinted at anywhere, why do we generally assume BATTLE was on
the West coast? Is it just because ESCAPE was on the West coast? Armando & Caesar couldn't travel croos-country in the 18 years between? I also noticed, reading the BATTLE scripts recently, that the ruined city is
called Modern City - not 'a modern city' but 'Modern City', if that adds anything to the theories. Seems like a rubbish name for a city though.

Interesting. At first I thought it was from a cut scene, but the fact that
the Lt. Stewart in propped up in folding chair and that Taylor is wearing
sneakers makes me think that they were just goofing around with the
Stewart dummy!

It's a fascinating photo, but I thought Heston said that 'Dead Stewart' was played by an old lady in makeup? And this must be days/weeks before they filmed her scenes, judging by Heston and Hunter's
costumes. Spare head next to Zira?

Looks like Fox is cracking the books. They've
got a production of "Gulliver's Travels" (starring Jack Black) in the pipeline
(what are they smoking in that pipeline?) and now they plan to do "'300'-like"
retelling of the Moses story, with a "'Braveheart' feel". I think it's fair to
say that Charlton Heston is the most famous screen Moses and it's one of his
signature roles (so ON TOPIC!). The film is being produced by Peter Chernin, who
ran Fox forever and now has a golden parachute production deal with them.
Also in Fox news, Bryan Singer says he's in
talks with Fox to return to the "X-Men" fold. Of those flicks, his are generally
considered the best. He says he likes to "trick audiences into thinking they're
seeing fireworks, but they're learning about themselves and listening to what I
have to say". He adds: "The excitement about working in science fiction and
fantasy is - the stories, if they are good, are about the human condition".
Sounds similar to something Franklin Schaffner said about POTA. Maybe if "X-Men"
doesn't work out, Singer can walk down the hall and consider the new POTA. It
could do worse.

David Honl is a photographer and appears to be the Significant Other
of Claudia Christian, who starred in the first four seasons of
Babylon
5, among other things. They have a new DVD out that shows how to
light photo shoots. Among the photo shoots covered is someone in Zira
makeup. The DVD is expensive, but there's a trailer for it on this
page (and on YouTube) that gives a brief glimpse of the Zira shoot at
00:21.

Here's a good seller on ebay that makes photos into posters. Bought a POTA Photo Poster the other day and the final product is really well made.
The posters are the $24.99 items. A lot of POTA Photo Posters to choose from.

Great and awesome fantastic news, guys (and girls)!! I just received in my paws the replacement vest. It's taken since early September for them to fix this. I guess it was a misunderstanding on their
part. They sent me the regular reply e-mail, "sorry we can't replace the item for you since your receipt is over 30 days old" when I asked them to repair the vest. They did not realize that my receipt
was for a prepurchase I had made in December 2008 and the Captain was not delivered until the end of July 2009. Well, hearing that e-mail reply from Hot Toys just made me livid. I'm so glad that they can fix

Really? My Ursus didn't have a twist tie on him. Not one. I was really happy with the way he was packaged. Very secure without going overboard with ties, tape, etc. I think my only
complaint is that with the helmet off he has that same weird huge bompadore that the DVD Caesar head has... but that's fixed as soon as the helmet goes on. Luckily, I found no tears or other defects. Sorry you of
all people (someone who is all about the action figures)got the short end of the stick on this one.

The producer of the "X-Men" movies has
provided an update and since this is Fox's first love I thought I'd give a
quick scorecard. I'm no "X-Men" fan but this stuff is relevant. A new POTA will
have to walk through the "X-Men" mine field.
"Wolverine 2": Wolverine is still to be
reckoned with even though folks seemed disappointed with the last one. This one
takes place, and will probably be filmed in, Japan. This is the story they
wanted to do for "Wolverine 1" but Tom Rothman insisted on an origin story. This
movie looks to be next.
""X-Men: First Class": The early days of the
characters in school, being compared to the "darker" "Harry Potter" movies.
Don't know if there's plans for Patrick Stewart to be in this. I think this is
the one original director Bryan Singer is looking at. Right now it's still being
written (and we know how that goes!)
"Deadpool": A spin-off movie franchise for
the guy who was introduced in "Wolverine". Fans complained about his portrayal
in that, but this will be a complete reboot, described as "a dark, snarky, very
funny movie"; it's "the hardest story to tell". He keeps a woman at his
place and regularly tortures her, so it sounds different.
"Magneto": This has been long in development,
the origin story of the "X-Men" villain. Deals with Nazi concentration camps.
This is the least likely of the movies to get made.
And of course these could all have sequels.
And Fox is rebooting "Fantastic 4". Everybody's superhero crazy. I've heard that
Fox has so many franchises in development they've had to expand their licensing
department beyond what it's already been. The more things change, the more they
stay the same.

Great and awesome fantastic news, guys (and girls)!! I just
received in my paws the replacement vest. It's taken since early
September for them to fix this. I guess it was a misunderstanding on
their part. They sent me the regular reply e-mail, "sorry we can't
replace the item for you since your receipt is over 30 days old" when I
asked them to repair the vest. They did not realize that my receipt was
for a prepurchase I had made in December 2008 and the Captain was not delivered
until the end of July 2009. Well, hearing that e-mail reply from Hot Toys
just made me livid. I'm so glad that they can fix it. You always
hear about great customer service from Hot Toys, and I was getting the short
end of the stick and just not a happy chimp until it got fixed.

Really? My Ursus didn't have a twist tie on him. Not
one. I was really happy with the way he was packaged. Very secure without going
overboard with ties, tape, etc. I think my only complaint is that with the
helmet off he has that same weird huge bompadore that the DVD Caesar head
has... but that's fixed as soon as the helmet goes on. Luckily, I found no
tears or other defects. Sorry you of all people (someone who is all about the
action figures)got the short end of the stick on this one.

Filing a report of the POTA screening I saw yesterday on the big screen in Durham, NC! Excellent print and decent sound! Only about 30
people in attendance on a dreary afternoon....the 2nd of three showings over the weekend. there would have been one more but poor Rory had car troubles and couldn't make it! It was part of an "Escapism Film
Festival". A very quiet crowd....only laughs came at Chuck's "serious" monologues....("I feel...lonely...") and the hear no evil, see no evil bit.
as always when I see it on the screen i notice a few things I've never noticed before......one is behind Taylor at the beginning when he is recording his log, there is what looks like a reel to reel tap
spinning....wonder if that is supposed to be recording him or was it just put in to look
"technical"
and I know we have discussed this before but I really think they may have put a gorilla mask on the female at the funeral. she's wearing green yet with a plum tunic but she really looked like a gorilla to me....
and one continuity problem.....when Taylor is brought into the hearing, he should be soaked from the water hose but he is dry.....
am including pics of what I noticed and a collage of the ticket stub, brochure and "marquee"

Here's the status of Ashton's gorilla pullover. I did the hairing up on a pullover spandex hood, and attached Apemania's kid-sized gorilla foam latex appliance with liquid latex. I also painted it up
and had to add browns so that it would photograph better. I have the neck area to do still. Almost done, but not quite..

I cut out the hieroglyph in leather--it's two layers thick, or actually 3 after I glued down the brown leather on top. Sprayed it down with 3M adhesive. Worked the brown leather on top, especially into the
crevices with a butterknife...made sure I had enough of the brown leather to cover the edges of the hieroglyph, and sprayed that down with more 3M and slapped it on the back of the glove.
Cutting out the hieroglyph took longer than you would think it would take. And you have to make two that match. Apemania sells the gloves, too. It costs $175 before s/h.

Here's the jousting he's talking about. I suddenly realised while watching it that I was standing on that very spot only 2 months ago. Didn't see any apes though.

Again I’m sure there’s a few

Could you ask him about his photos –
does he have ANY stills? Any other paraphernalia? Would love to get in a late

now gone, to put on their costumes and masks. I remember that there was also a celebrity from the tv show, 'Crossroads' there but I can't remember her name. I filmed as much as I could and then, as the apes
were going back to the Hoe Theatre to change, I caught up with them and they posed for some photos. They were great pictures, Urko held his rifle in the air, but unfortunately, they were lost or thrown away many years
ago. Wish I still had them."
Here's the jousting he's talking about. I suddenly realised while watching it that I was standing on that very spot only 2 months ago. Didn't see any apes though.

Now I'll just wait for someone to make a joke about 'the old hoe'... :-0
