Asked about the upcoming "Rise of the POTA"
sequel, Andy Serkis said the script is "in it's infancy" but that "it will
certainly have Caesar having to make decisions about managing his own kind and
also the (human) survivors of the virus and making sure they co-exist. I believe
that's where it is going".
He adds that POTA "was never a film saying apes
are good, humans are bad or apes are bad. It was always about the difficult gray
areas of a species dominating a planet". That right there sounds like they get
it.

I thought it might be interesting to go through
the Oscar lists and see how science fiction has been treated over the years.
Maybe I'll do that before Nomination Time.
Meanwhile, this is a good rundown of the
highlights. No sci-fi movie has won Best Picture (some might be tempted to count
"Lord of the Rings: Return of the King" but that's fantasy). The complete list
of sci-fi movies nominated for Best Picture are: "Clockwork Orange", "Star
Wars", "E.T.", "Avatar", "District 9" and last year's "Inception" (so sci-fi has
been gaining traction lately).
It looks like the only major Oscar win for sci-fi
is Don Ameche, Best Supporting Actor for "Cocoon" in 1985.

Caught the end of Hang 'em High the other night and saw Mark Lenard's name in the credits. Never noticed he was in it all the times I'd watched it before.

Subject: POTA68 Oscar nominations
On this Oscar Nomination Eve, let's not forget
that the original POTA had it's share of Oscar noms, and pretty weighty stuff
for a sci-fi movie back then. It received noms for Best Costume Design and
Best Score. Of course, John Chambers received an Oscar but that was an honorary
one since there was no makeup category then. POTA didn't "win" any Oscars, so if
"Rise" does (such as for Visual FX) it will be a POTA first.
That was actually a pretty heady year for science
fiction at the Oscars. "2001: A Space Odyssey" received nominations for Best
Director, Best Script and Best Art Direction, and won for Best Visual FX. And
Cliff Robertson actually won Best Actor for "Charly".

Just reminding members that the BTBR files are still available for viewing but you'd better get in quick because they are only up for a limited time and will soon be gone (for good this
time).

It would be great of people could just
spend a short time looking and giving your feedback – good or bad. This
took a lot of hard work and we’d really like to know if it was
worthwhile.
Neil – do we have the technology to
maybe do a page at a time, sent in a post to the group, showing the original
and the redux and discussing com[parisons?
Maybe if we do this every couple of days
it would be better?

It would be great of
people could just spend a short time looking and giving your feedback – good or
bad. This took a lot of hard work and weÂ’d really like to know if it was
worthwhile.
Neil – do we have the
technology to maybe do a page at a time, sent in a post to the group, showing
the original and the redux and discussing com[parisons?
Maybe if we do this
every couple of days it would be better?

Just
reminding members that the BTBR files are still available for viewing but you'd
better get in quick because they are only up for a limited time and will soon be

It's possible but I'm not going to be doing it. I'm not wasting more of my time, got better things to do. I was just warning people that the files will be taken down soon and
this will be the last chance to see them.

I don't see how it's a problem, you just click on the link to the Files section on the left of the Homepage and then the one for comics, etc. There was even a direct link to the

Well, it was a pretty bad year for apes at the
Oscars. "Rise" got the expected Visual FX nom but that's it. Even "Project Nim"
didn't get a nomination. Andy Serkis didn't get one for Best Supporting Actor
(nor did the expected Albert Brooks) but the campaign for him and the
dialogue about motion capture was still historic. So "Rise" takes a
backseat to the original POTA re: Oscar.

The smart thing to do was to give Andy a nomination. And even if the academy isn't ready to give an Oscar for motion capture, at least the hype and the hoopla surrounding the nomination would have at
least made the Oscars a bit more interesting to watch this year.
Now all of America and the world are headed for another boring ass Oscar night.
And believe me, it will be boring. Thank God for TIVO. Fast Forward to Best Visual Effects, please. lol

Someone managed to snap a picture of Andy Serkis
as he was learning the news this morning that he didn't get an Oscar nomination.
He was with a simian friend at the time and they were getting ready to celebrate
his "victory". Better luck next time, Andy.

The smart thing to do would have been to make a smart movie in the first place, they had the time and the resources but they didn't they made a dumb one with massive plot holes and crap
editing etc. etc.
No surprise to me that it's not getting huge Oscar recognition. I know standards have dropped in the modern era but come on, it is no where near being an Oscar winning movie.

It’s not negative – it’s honest.
It was better than
Burton ’s shit but it was not as good as it
could have been.
Huge plot holes a 2 year old can see = NOT
intelligent.
It was MORE intelligent that MOST
Hollywood crap, but that’s
not saying much.
I did enjoy it, but I don’t revere it.
I’m surprised because I expected much
worse was possible – but it is NOT an INTELLIGENT movie and people need to stop
saying it is because they are really saying “I don’t know what an intelligent
movie is!”.

The FX company WETA has definitely had
Oscar action before (they've won the FX Oscar 5 out of the last 10 years) but
"Rise" is the first Oscar nod for Daniel Barrett as an FX supervisor. Here's a
chat with him. The video has a look at Caesar's skull.
An interesting thing about the nominations is that
some said Andy Serkis shouldn't be nominated because it's animation, not acting.
But people were surprised that "Tin Tin" (also featuring Serkis and also done by
WETA) was not nominated for Best Animated Film, and some suggest a bias against
motion capture from animators. So "mo-cap" seems to be neither fish nor fowl at
the moment as people try to decide what it is (and what it means to their
jobs). <.html <.html

For a start no one is 'lashing out' certainly not me and to tell the truth I'm a little bit offended by you intimating that.
I just can not understand how someone looking at the thing can not see that it now has word and thought balloons for a start when the original only had word boxes for everything, apart from the other little art changes.
Granted they're not big changes for the most part because we did not want to completely rewrite and change the story, we just wanted to make it flow better instead of having little 'cliff-hangers' every 3
pages and to fix a few things that some readers originally bitched about.

I have to have Tim's back on this. I haven't commented
because when I looked at the "redux" I didn't notice the changes
either. Maybe I expected something more drastic & I had not read it in some
time but I didn't see it. I too didn't look at them side by side but will when
I get a chance. Sorry Neil. I hate when you two start to get discouraged &
lash out but as someone who reads comics regularly I am surpised I didn't
notice the changes.

Not negative just truthful. Now from Apes fans I'm seeing a lot of stuff like 'the Oscars are a joke' 'going to be boring as heck' etc. etc. just because the motion
capture bloke didn't get nominated. Toys being thrown out of the pram time.

The major difference is the LETTERING and in particular the
placement of the words/the existence of word and thought BOXES (character

Actually I’m fairly sure it was just
Gideon and his rifle chasing down a solitary human that night but I’ll
check to see if there is a plot hole.
If there is, it will be fixed before being
released to the paying public (as plot holes should be!).

In the Beginning, there was the Charlton
Heston performance. And it was good. And it begat many reboots.
No, Silly! I'm not talking about POTA. I'm
talking about Moses. Maybe Heston's most indelible role was as Moses in "The Ten
Commandments" and now the studios are hot to retell the Moses story. Actually,
Biblical epics are hot right now. There's the Adam and Eve story "Paradise
Lost", and the "Black Swan" director is doing an expensive "Noah"
movie.
Fox and "Rise of the POTA" producer Peter Chernin
wanted to do Moses but it looks like they will have to make way for Steven
Spielberg, who's interested in Warner Bros.' "gritty" version. "Rise" itself was
devised by the writers as a Moses story (but instead of crossing the Red Sea,
Caesar crossed the Red Bridge and headed for the Red Woods) so it would be
interesting for Chernin to take the actual story on as well. But I guess all
roads lead to Spielberg so he probably gets first crack.
They've rebooted "The Omega Man", POTA, Moses, so
I guess "Ben Hur" is next? What's the Heston movie YOU want to see
rebooted?

Why don't the experts at the lab realize their
subject (Caesar's mom) is pregnant? Why is Freida Pinto so clueless after 5
years (the director even mentions this on the DVD commentary)? Why don't people
seem to age in 8 years? How can the apes jump through those high windows and
survive (obviously the CG people showing off)? Why would they? Why do the apes
like to jump through glass so much? Why do the cops suddenly disappear when they
reach the red woods (there'd be a lot more than one helicopter)?
I'm sure Neil can add to it. Like I've said,
these aren't "deal breakers" for me. No one said "Rise" is perfect, but
they accomplished so much and made an intelligent movie (yes, I said it) and no
one is going to convince me most of the POTA sequels we celebrate are better
than "Rise".
But some people have chosen to study plot holes.
Yes, perverted scientists who advance an insidious theory called
"plothole-lution".

abandonment, things that weren't in the original movies. It takes "intelligence"
to come up with new avenues for a familiar story, and guts to take it there.
They said they were nervous, not only because of the CG but also no time travel
and no talking apes. The reason people dig "Rise" is it took POTA in places they
didn't expect and it felt fresh.
It's better than most of the POTA movies and it's
better than most of the expensive summer blockbuster this year. It's not a low
budget arthouse movie and had certain expectations to live up to, but they did a
good job with what they had (and dealing with the restrictive Fox).

Another one is the apes
being "smart" before they get the drug. In particular the sign language
orangutan. The writers said that was the last big issue just before they locked
the picture. Should they include it or not? They decided to keep it because
Caesar needs an ally at that point, the film is bleak at that point. Their
reasoning is that apes have been known to not only learn sign language but to
teach it to other apes.

Jeff,

Plot holes and shitty gorilla make ups
(Escape), Roddy’s mouth falling off……it all happened.
I still celebrate those movies. But
I do NOT call them INTELLIGENT! They are fun, but they are children of a

I enjoyed “RISE” but it’s
a handicapped child, not a child-genius! Actually, it’s more a
NORMAL child but it ain’t an Einstein!
It missed out on the bit where people sit
around a table and think about what they have done and whether it makes sense. Most
writers do this, I know it is done in many films. If they did it with
RISE they must have decided “Ah who gives a crap it’s gonna look
better that way even though it make little or no sense!”.
It’s like in “Every Which Way
But Loose” when Clint punches someone and the sound you hear is NOTHING like
a real punch, and the distance the guy being punched is propelled has nothing
to do with reality, similarly the simians fly around the place in RISE but who
cares? I mean it looks GREAT!!!! But it isn’t INTELLIGENT –
it’s fucking STUPID if anything (while entertaining) but stupid’s
OK and can be fun right???? Just please let’s agree it’s
STUPID!!!
The editing is TERRIBLE too –
SCRAPPY! That’s surely NOT intelligent. If it were, they
would have found a way to do it so that it’s not obvious great chunks of
the movie are missing!
The only thing intelligent about RISE is
the lack of it.

Yeah I know it’s “BETTER”
than this and that but fuck me what isn’t?
I think Monty Python said it best:
“How are you feeling today sir?”
“Better.”
“Better, sir?”
“Better get a bucket I’m going to throw up!”
I think I’d be happy with it being “One
of the more intelligent movies of 2011”.
I also think it was heading in an
intelligent direction and the restrictive Fox “Fuxed” it! They
took an intelligent script from an intelligent writer and said “Oh shit
it’s too intelligent! Can we dumb it down and focus more on flying
monkeys?”
Now if they had just gone with an
intelligent script – THAT would have been a RISK and it would have BEEN
an intelligent movie!
I’ve been teaching mentally handicapped
children on and off for the last year and I’d be just as worried if you started
calling them intelligent too. They are what they are – doesn’t
mean we like or love it or them any less, just means we use an accurate description.

I enjoyed Yogi Bear when I
was a kid. But I don't "celebrate" it. I celebrate the POTA movies (most of
them) because they WERE intelligent and the older I get the more relevant they
become about the way the world is. If they weren't intelligent I wouldn't bother
with them. POTA68, "Escape", "Conquest", "Rise" = intelligent. Not perfect but
intelligent.

Celebrating sequels
Jeff,
I celebrate the
sequels – warts and all – because I loved them when I was
younger.
Plot holes and
shitty gorilla make ups (Escape), RoddyÂ’s mouth falling offÂ…Â…it all
happened.
I still
celebrate those movies. But I do NOT call them INTELLIGENT! They are
fun, but they are children of a lesser
god!
I enjoyed “RISE”
but itÂ’s a handicapped child, not a child-genius! Actually, itÂ’s more a
NORMAL child but it ainÂ’t an
Einstein!
It missed out on
the bit where people sit around a table and think about what they have done and
whether it makes sense. Most writers do this, I know it is done in many
films. If they did it with RISE they must have decided “Ah who gives a
crap itÂ’s gonna look better that way even though it make little or no
sense!”.
ItÂ’s like in
“Every Which Way But Loose” when Clint punches someone and the sound you hear is
NOTHING like a real punch, and the distance the guy being punched is propelled
has nothing to do with reality, similarly the simians fly around the place in
RISE but who cares? I mean it looks GREAT!!!! But it isnÂ’t
INTELLIGENT – it’s fucking STUPID if anything (while entertaining) but stupid’s
OK and can be fun right???? Just please letÂ’s agree itÂ’s
STUPID!!!
The editing is
TERRIBLE too – SCRAPPY! That’s surely NOT intelligent. If it were,
they would have found a way to do it so that itÂ’s not obvious great chunks of
the movie are missing!
The only thing
intelligent about RISE is the lack of it.
Still I enjoyed
it.
Neil had higher
expectations obviously, me, I’m happy with “Better than
Burton ’s!”.

Why don't the experts at
the lab realize their subject (Caesar's mom) is pregnant? Why is Freida Pinto so
clueless after 5 years (the director even mentions this on the DVD commentary)?
Why don't people seem to age in 8 years? How can the apes jump through those
high windows and survive (obviously the CG people showing off)? Why would they?
Why do the apes like to jump through glass so much? Why do the cops suddenly
disappear when they reach the red woods (there'd be a lot more than one
helicopter)?
I'm sure Neil can add to
it. Like I've said, these aren't "deal breakers" for me. No one said "Rise"
is perfect, but they accomplished so much and made an intelligent movie (yes, I
said it) and no one is going to convince me most of the POTA sequels we
celebrate are better than "Rise".
But some people have chosen
to study plot holes. Yes, perverted scientists who advance an insidious theory
called "plothole-lution".

It would have been better if they had not used the name Caesar and had started a completely new version of Planet of the Apes instead of trying to tie it into the 'classic' Apes (A stupid thing to try to do in my
opinion.)
I'm guessing that most of the audiences were made up of folks who were not crazy Apes fans and knew only the very basics of the 'old POTA' stuff, hence why so many liked it and thought it was fantastic.

It’s just as valid to conclude that

Here we have two sensible options and one

I think we made the intelligent choice because

not compromise the flow of the story and make the story retarded as did the
RISE choices.
There’s also a huge difference in
budget and resources, and we don’t go around saying “BEWARE THE

we hope you like it!
Now go and read the TV Show comic I wrote.

Agreed! After this was pointed out to me, I changed it! And this is
a fan made fucking comic we are talking about! Why the fuck would you
expect any less from a multi-million dollar movie? Wouldn’t you be

holes too. And if I had to describe it I’d say it was flawed, NOT
INTELLIGENT!!!!! But if I’d had feedback in time I would have used
that to improve and rectify its faults.
Simply, unless you completely redefine
“intelligent” by lowering qualifying IQ points, it’s NOT an
INTELLIGENT movie.

Way too many apes 'escape' compared to how many were in the ape facility.
They escape through the roof, why not just go out the front door?
No one in the whole movie ages or changes hairstyle etc. and bushes and trees don't grow but Caesar does.
The drug that makes them intelligent also seems to make some of them super strong (manhole tossing orangutan for one)
Buck the gorilla becomes super gorilla when he jumps at the helicopter, further than a gorilla could jump and he actually goes up when gravity would make him fall.
And whilst doing that he is repeatedly shot at from point blank range and every bullet misses him.
The original version of the drug is a dangerous failure so they fast track a new more aggressive version of it.
A drug giving Alzheimer's patients an extra five years of normal/better life is considered a failure.
A genius chimp can't tell the difference between a painted wall and the real sky.
How many apes have been taught to sign by someone at a circus?
No one realises that their star chimp (who should have been thoroughly monitored) is pregnant let alone has a baby in her cell that nobody notices (and the mess that goes with that.)
Way too many orangutans and gorillas to have been in captivity in the area, you'd be lucky to see that many together in the wild.
Adult Caesar's height changes to suit the scene he's in.
The cops only have one helicopter in the whole area (which they allow to be controlled by a civilian!)
The apes unrealistically leap like they're in a Burton re-imagining.
Broken glass doesn't cut or maim apes.
Only one family puts out their garbage bin on trash day and then they put it out on the road.
Caesar studies his birth mark in the mirror intently and then nothing is explained or made of it in the rest of the movie.
There are many more that I can't remember at the moment but I'm sure I will later and will add those. For me a lot of these things are deal breakers and I won't even mention all the references to the original
POTA that really peed me off.

stupidity. I couldn't help it, they just leapt out at me from the screen much
like an unrealistic leaping super ape.

I finally had the time to print and read the "redux" version. It's been so long since I read the original that I enjoyed it even more. Sure I remembered most of it, especially
some of the more potent images (first sight of ship, baby, etc) but it was exciting revisiting it. I wish I could do a side by side comparison with the original, but that will have to wait for another day. I don't
know if I would have picked up on the differences mentioned, but I seem to remember Michael saying a long time ago that one of the things he would have liked to change was the word banners.
My only gripe would be that there are indeed a few too many humans in the fight scenes for it to be plausible that Gideon could have escaped. It is one of my pet peeves in movies and TV shows when the 'hero' is
fighting a bunch of bad guys and the swarm of bad guys only enter the battle alone or in twos thereby allowing the hero to win the battle. If they really wanted to take him down they would all swarm at once. In this
case the problem could be alleviated by simply having less humans.
After reading it I even passed it over to my son to see what he thought about. He liked it. I also pass him my Boom POTA comics, but he also only gets those after I'm done reading them. He has not read Betrayal
because I told him it was only a four issue story arc he said he would rather wait until we've got the entire series and then read then all together.
Now did Michael say something about there going to be a reprint?
PS: Exactly when was the original Beware created? What year?

You can poke holes in any movie you choose
to. There's a lot that goes into movies, and problems like time limits, budget
restrictions, etc. Sc-fi (and comedy) are hard. Enjoy them or don't. I can offer
alternate descriptions that are just as ingenious as yours. But it would be
conjecture, not proof.
a) who knows how many apes are
in that facility? They don't show a role call.
b) they escape through the roof
because they're apes, they like to climb
c) sometimes not a lot changes in 8
years. Their acknowledgement of the passage of time is the picture of Caesar in
the Shakespeare book. The little girl got older
d, e, o, p) Usually CG action goes
overboard. It's not confined to "Rise".
f) Buck gets shot; less believable is that
Caesar doesn't
g), h) they don't know the drug works until
Will tells them he tried it on his father; then they fast track it
I) he doesn't necessarily think it's real,
he's exploring the place; plus he's nervous and confused
j) it's controversial about apes and sign
language; the writers did a lot of research. They know more about it then I do.
But some have been taught sign language, and according to the writers apes have
taught sign language to other apes
k) I've already acknowledged the pregnancy
thing
l) too many apes: granted but you can't get
a decent planet of the apes going without 'em
m) Caesar's heighth: didn't bother me; they
can cry over their Oscar that you called them on it
n) yeah, the helicopter thing was pretty
stupid, but not impossible; he's a big wig, convinced the guy; they blew their

Not all plot holes but also stuff that is just plain stupid (definitely NOT
intelligent):-
Way too many apes 'escape' compared to how many were in
the ape facility.
They escape through the roof, why not just go out the
front door?
No one in the whole movie ages or changes hairstyle etc. and
bushes and trees don't grow but Caesar does.
The drug that makes them
intelligent also seems to make some of them super strong (manhole tossing
orangutan for one)
Buck the gorilla becomes super gorilla when he jumps
at the helicopter, further than a gorilla could jump and he actually goes up
when gravity would make him fall.
And whilst doing that he is repeatedly
shot at from point blank range and every bullet misses him.
The original
version of the drug is a dangerous failure so they fast track a new more
aggressive version of it.
A drug giving Alzheimer's patients an extra
five years of normal/better life is considered a failure.
A genius chimp
can't tell the difference between a painted wall and the real sky.
How
many apes have been taught to sign by someone at a circus?
No one
realises that their star chimp (who should have been thoroughly monitored) is
pregnant let alone has a baby in her cell that nobody notices (and the mess that
goes with that.)
Way too many orangutans and gorillas to have been in
captivity in the area, you'd be lucky to see that many together in the wild.
Adult Caesar's height changes to suit the scene he's in.
The cops
only have one helicopter in the whole area (which they allow to be controlled by
a civilian!)
The apes unrealistically leap like they're in a Burton
re-imagining.
Broken glass doesn't cut or maim apes.
Only one
family puts out their garbage bin on trash day and then they put it out on the
road.
Caesar studies his birth mark in the mirror intently and then
nothing is explained or made of it in the rest of the movie.
There are
many more that I can't remember at the moment but I'm sure I will later and will
add those. For me a lot of these things are deal breakers and I won't even
mention all the references to the original POTA that really peed me
off.

I'm sure Einstein did stupid things,

"Intelligent" doesn't mean perfect, it means...it
means...
Um, wait a minute, it's here
somewhere...
"displaying or characterized by quickness of
understanding, sound thought, or good judgement"
OK, they went out on a limb by doing a POTA movie
without makeup or talking apes and made a friggin' fortune. That's good
judgement.
Sound thought. They thought about the sound! They
had sound recorders, sound editors, sound mixers.
Quickness of understanding. Caesar learns
quickly.
So there you go.

Yeah you can poke holes in any movie but they don't all have people trying to imply that they are intelligent.
Every time something is pointed out about this movie that is plain wrong or stupid you come up with these excuses about time limits, budget restrictions etc. All movies have these things but surprisingly some decent
intelligent movies (yes even sci-fi) without massive plot holes still manage to be made.

Mostly this started when Mel asked about the plot

I didn't mean to start anything, honest. And was frustrated at myself for not picking up easier on the stuff on that plot holes site.
I go with whoever said 'intelligent with flaws', but we're each entitled to our own opinion...we'll likely have to agree to disagree.

Not all
plot holes but also stuff that is just plain stupid (definitely NOT
intelligent):-
Way too many apes 'escape' compared to how many were in the ape facility.
They escape through the roof, why not just go out the front door?
No one in the whole movie ages or changes hairstyle etc. and bushes and trees
don't grow but Caesar does.
The drug that makes them intelligent also seems to make some of them super
strong (manhole tossing orangutan for one)
Buck the gorilla becomes super gorilla when he jumps at the helicopter, further
than a gorilla could jump and he actually goes up when gravity would make him
fall.
And whilst doing that he is repeatedly shot at from point blank range and every
bullet misses him.
The original version of the drug is a dangerous failure so they fast track a
new more aggressive version of it.
A drug giving Alzheimer's patients an extra five years of normal/better life is
considered a failure.
A genius chimp can't tell the difference between a painted wall and the real
sky.
How many apes have been taught to sign by someone at a circus?
No one realises that their star chimp (who should have been thoroughly
monitored) is pregnant let alone has a baby in her cell that nobody notices
(and the mess that goes with that.)
Way too many orangutans and gorillas to have been in captivity in the area,
you'd be lucky to see that many together in the wild.
Adult Caesar's height changes to suit the scene he's in.
The cops only have one helicopter in the whole area (which they allow to be
controlled by a civilian!)
The apes unrealistically leap like they're in a
Burton re-imagining.
Broken glass doesn't cut or maim apes.
Only one family puts out their garbage bin on trash day and then they put it
out on the road.
Caesar studies his birth mark in the mirror intently and then nothing is
explained or made of it in the rest of the movie.
There are many more that I can't remember at the moment but I'm sure I will
later and will add those. For me a lot of these things are deal breakers and I
won't even mention all the references to the original POTA that really peed me
off.

Yeah Jeff it’s an intelligent movie……made
tasty.
Like a donut is health food……made
tasty.
In other words a donut is health food……….with
all the healthy components removed to make it tasty.
In other words, a donut is NOT health
food.
The use of word trickery is fine, just as
long as you are talking to someone who lacks the intelligence to realize you
are talking shit.
You are the one who started getting
personal about this and using poor comparisons to “Beware the Beast”
in a childish attempt to make a point. As I pointed out, we don’t
claim “Beware the Beast” is intelligent, so your comparison isn’t
very intelligent and it doesn’t work.
“RISE” is only an intelligent
movie if you complete the sentence with “THAT HAS HAD THE INTELLIGENCE
COMPROMISED”. This is like saying “Zero equals One”……you
have to complete the sentence with “minus One”. In other
words it’s Zero, but if we use word trickery it’s something else.
“Rise” is an intelligent movie……….like
Hitler was compassionate to Jews. Finish the sentence Jeff.

I have a theory, maybe it's because in the US, as we know, they dumbed down the trailers for Rise so when people went and saw it they found it to be more intelligent than they had been
lead to expect? Whereas overseas they used the more 'intelligent' trailers and people like me were expecting a much more intelligent movie? I don't know, it's got me puzzled.

It was a good movie that entertained and moved
people. There's no mystery about it.
You guys can hate it all you want. "Rise" won,
and POTA fans won because POTA is back.
Intelligent POTA.

Here’s a side by side comparison of an old and a new
page plus I’ve uploaded them to the Files section as well:
Beware
The Beast 'Redux' folder in the Comics folder in the Files section.
A couple more to come
