Okay, hang on a sec.  They dropped the
pregnancy scene because it was considered
bestiality.  And yet they put forced to mate
on the poster.  That just occurred to me.
I guess bestiality is okay as long as it's
forced, and she's hot.  hmmmm . . . .???

When Galen is caught with Leuric in Up Above and Carsia orders them
imprisoned, how does she know that Galen won't warn Konag, Urko's loyal
servant, that Carsia intends to bomb Urko and Zaius? Why, for that
matter, knowing he was due to be shot, didn't Galen do the sensible
thing and warn the guards/Konag about Carsia's intentions? Seems a bit
loose plotwise to me.Still love that episode though! John, Scrolls.

It was originally shown on Love American Style. The episode was titled
"Love and the Old Fashioned Father".

That reminds me... William Windom had a series based on James Thurber

I have a lot of them, Columbo, Requiem For A Heavy Weight,
Gunsmoke. I've been trying to get Bonanza and The Magician,
but Love American Style is like the Holy Grail.  They were
showing the series a while back, but it was discontinued.

at those sell "bootleg" copys of old TV
shows.......that's where I first found "Return"
I think I've seen The Magician at some.....not sure
about Love American Style

All you have to do is watch the opening credits
It'll say at the beginning if it's Love & The Happy Family
as well as just who's in the cast for that story.
Just hit the display and skip ahead 12 minutes.  I'm
pretty sure the format was 2 stories per half hour.
If there aren't any commercials they'd be 24 mins.

You have 'Love American Style on DVD'? I'm afraid to ask what else you have on DVD?
'Blansky's Beauties' perhaps? Or the quintessential 'CPO Sharkey' maybe?
Have you been reading Roddy Doyle again?
Kidding.

.html.htmlHere's a DVD cover for BENEATH I've just finished.  The front cover is from the 1970 soundtrack LP, but I didn't want to use the album's back cover since it's just a collection of black and white photos.  Instead, I just gathered a hodgepodge of stuff.  Not the greatest, but then BENEATH is kind of a hodgepodge itself.

Hi. Several bouncing members have been removed from the group. Most were older members who joined over a year ago and have abandoned their email accounts. If I removed anyone by mistake please let me know.

Also, I had to reset the status of several members as well. So if you were a 'Daily Digest' member and are now getting 'Individual Emails' or visa versa; please let me know and we'll fix it.

    Thanks

    Reverend Jim Ignatowski's coverall from

    Caesar...."Uhhhhhhhh....Governor Breck...ahhhhhemmmm.....are

Funny I've often wondered what Caeser would have been like if he had
    been played by different actors:

Robert DeNiro: "Breck, you talking to me...you talking to ME!"

James Earl Jones: "Breck, I find your lack of faith disturbing!"

    Don Rickles: "Breck, you hockey-puck!"

Put in one of the sequel discs and go to the language section on the menu.  You'll see a "THX Optimizer" icon.  Click on that and then follow instructions.

They had a few items listed from the ape series in the
catalog. Items D3 - Victor Buono Mask, D18 Original
Chimp Mask and D19 - Gorilla Test Make Up.

I was luck enough to get all three items.

They had some appliance in the auction also but they
were not listed in the catalog.

It's a great catalog of about 160 pages of
Manuscripts, L. Ron Hubbard Material, Costumes,
Artifacts and Ephemera, Artwork, Books, Magazines,
Film Posters and Lobby Cards. Anyways though some of
you would like to see the ape reference.

          Thanks again Greg.

Due to your and Hunter's effort that site has become one of the finest
POTA websites on the net. I hope all fans appreciate it the work you
guys do. And it's a nicely designed site too;-)

Greg, I own some of this art( which, amazingly, wasn't too expensive at
the time--I don't think people know how iconic Sutton's run on Apes has
become) and the original art is just astonishing in its detail.Whether
you like comics or not, it's definitely worth just staring at Sutton's
work on this strip--absolutely mind blowing.Greg, you deserve a medal
          for this project.John, Scrolls.

          .html
Hey guys and gals, and simians,I guess...
I was wondering if anyone on this site makes their own
          POTA props for fun/and/or display,?
I have made some attempts in the past to fabricate scrolls, gorilla
truncheons, and other bits, seeing as ApeMania's stuff is WAY too
          expensive for my blood.
You'd think that as poor as some of us POTA fans tend to be,they would
have a bargain section or something, you know?
I really wish that there was some way to get good, but inexpensive, POTA
materials and props, but apparently, this particular sci-fi is firmly in
the realm of the moneybags types.

My ''best'' prop is the Medicom figure of the Lawgiver that is scaled
          for the action figures.
          Pretty lame,huh?

I made a rifle. A friend of mine might be able to make you a replica of a beneath rifle. If you email apemania about your price concerns they might be able to work something out for you.

In response to your kind missive, thank you!
I doubt however that the powers -that-be at ApeMania
would be very willing to do charity-work on my part.
I have a good job,but it does not pay very
much, although it IS the highest paying job I have yet
          had.
My wife and I have health concerns that make it very
rare for us to spend any income on things outside of
          bills,rent,food and medications,altough cheap stuff
for my hobbies and hers can be got.
She is also currently out of work, due to a congenital
deformity of her knees that prevents her from standing
for extended periods, and i myself am experiencing
truoble from a number of neurological complaints that
          require expensive pharmacy visits.
but,I still have my 5 volume videocassette collection
of the films, ansd the ''Behind'' documentary on
DVD,plus a few very hard- to -get Medicom figures that
I have to build an appropriate display for.

          Thank you for the advice.

          LordArthur.

I'm sure that's why they want more! But it is a great incentive to keep buying them!

I'm truly liking the way this story is progressing. The artwork is great! I really dig the second stories in each issue....jumping through time in the whole Apes saga! Please keep up the good work and PLEASE can we keep going after Issue 6? "Apes" fans have been wanting a good quality on going comic for a long time since the Marvel mags ended and you are certainly fulfilling that desire! Thanks Ty!

My brother is currently making full size replicas of the spiked
maces in Beneath. He has access to a surviving section of the actual
cell bars from the movie and was able to cast the spikes from that.
He may make one or two available for sale, but I don't know how much
they're gonna be. Anyone interested can email me directly.

I took measurements of an original Gorilla tunic and I'm planning
(hoping) to recreate one in vinyl for this Halloween.
            Wish me luck.

I am all for that John. I think it would only complete the Sideshow
Planet of the Apes line. It would be cool to get them to release a
Roddy figure with a figure of Cornelius, Caesar, and Galen since he
played all three but I think that would be asking for too much. But, if
you get the petition made up, I will sign it. I also belong to a
Sideshow message borad group. I am sure that there are others on this

Just for fun, who can answer these trivia questions about the Lawgiver without refering back to the films:

            1. When is the first time the Lawgiver is mentioned in Planet?
            2. How many total times is the Lawgiver refered to in the entire series?

Remember this is an exhibition not a competition; so please no wagering. Have a great weekend everyone.

Was it supposed to be President Trundy who committed suicide at the
bottom of Page 17? It says the scenes are taking place in Washington,
D.C., but the dialog doesn't seem like it'd be coming from that character
("The circle has no beginning and no end. You create the future and the
future creates you"), and it looks like Reich's pet monkey falling away
in the background. But on the next page there's a gorilla sitting at the
President's desk in the Oval Office, and a human is lying dead on the
floor with a gun in his hand. "Heil Caesar" was an interesting touch as
            well.

E-mail any response to me privately so it doesn't get spoiled for anyone
who hasn't read the issue yet.

Sorry if we didn't make it clear enough.

            The president is still alive.

Riech, however, may have a bullet lodged in his brain at this point.

            Thanks,

            Hey guys!
I know that there are plans available for the ''Icarus'' spaceship
available for sale, but has anyone ever done any schematics of the
            Doomsday Bomb?
I know that Hunter has some very rare and hard-to-find images up on his
site, but no matter how hard I look ,I have found very little on the A-O
Bomb except some rather incomplete photos of it from BTPOTA.
Can any of you help me out with this?

It would really help me complete my gallery of reference-designs that
I'm flanking my POTA display with.

He told me mostly about the different things that Apemania has restored (furniture, the funeral sarcophagus, weapons, costumes, background stunt masks, the two full size Lawgiver statues and the CAESAR statue), that the current owner of the Lawgiver that was on the Jacobs estate until 7 years ago is rumored to be looking to sell it now (asking price is going to be around $30,000), and what he knows about the fate of the Icarus spaceship:

"Last I had heard about the ICARUS is that it was sold off to a themed restaurant many decades ago, believed to be somewhere in Utah.  The restaurant (so the story goes), had the spaceship on the roof.  When the establishment burnt to the ground years later, the ICARUS was no more.  That's the "story".  I have never found out if it was true or not.  I have not been able to connect with anyone that even has photos of it on top of ANY building, Utah or elsewhere, so who knows the truth?"

At the end of the day, my guess is that one way or another it's long gone. Ditto for the Doomsday Bomb. Tracking down what happened to both items might not be impossible, but you'd have to start with whoever owns the lot now and work backwards to see where all the props were sold to. If one person purchased the entire lot, I suppose they could still be out there somewhere.
