RIP "My Name Is Earl". Booth Colman was a

James, that "My Name Is Urko" image is hilarious. I'm a die-hard "My Name
Is Earl" fan, so I burst out laughing upon seeing that. Bravo!
(I find
it particularly hilarious that Urko also has a brother named
Randy.)

Paraphrasing:
After Taylor is shot and killed (after seeing the Statue), a gorilla
solider asks "What's that Dr. Zaius?" to which Zaius responds "That's a graven
idol, worshipped by man". Then the camera pans over to the Statue of Liberty.
Same effect as the ending we all know, but with the lead character dead just
after learning the truth- which was definitely a Rod Serling staple.
Chris L.
>>One of the early drafts of the PLANET script had Taylor shot just
after he sees the statue. Zaius and his gorillas ride up to the body after
Nova runs away and look at the statue. I forget exactly what it is Zaius
says about it. << <.html

"James" < JamesA1102@...> wrote: >>Using the "500 years from
slavery to rebellion" always falls apart for me. The audience never witnesses
these events. The characters who relate them, Cornelius & Zira, didn't
witness them either. The source for C&Z was the Sacred Scrolls written by
the Lawgiver and since he presumably didn't live for 500 years he didn't
witness them either. He was most likely recording a history that had been
passed down and possibly distorted through the centuries. So there no direct
conclusive evidence that the "500 years from slavery to rebellion" happened
exactly as related. It is hearsay of hearsay of hearsay of hearsay.
<<
But you have to remember that these are FICTIONAL CHARACTERS in a written
story, so you really can't apply that kind of logic. You have to go with the
presumption that writers intend what they write to be truthful/factual UNLESS
they specify something to the contrary. You yourself pointed out that Dehn
clearly identified to the audience that Cornelius & Zira were lying to the
Commission and "If it was an element of the story that they had lied in either
case, there would have been some indication of it to let the audience know".
Similarly, if he had intended that Cornelius & Zira's retelling of ape
history was factually incorrect, the audience would have been informed of that
as well. Having one statement where Cornelius says that the apes spoke a
certain language for nearly 2000 years and another where both he and Zira
say that the downfall of humanity took place 500 years after apes were first
taken in as pets contradict each other. If anything, it comes across as
more of a botched attempt at lying for fear of repercussion. Which they admitted
doing to Lewis and Stevie.
>>> But we know that they were both lying to the Commission about
certain things, so fabricating the length of how long the apes were using
English isn't much of a stretch. <<<
>>All the lies they told were lies of omission so this doesn't really
qualify. <<
They specifically said that they DIDN'T know Taylor, when in fact they did.
That's not a lie of omission. That's a lie.
>>The Human remains in the cave and the doll are 2,000 years old, not
1,500. <<
Which Zaius disputes. Regardless of his trying to hide the true history of
the planet, anyone involved in archeology knows that dating artifacts is an
extremely subjective thing. So that date was both brought up and dismissed in
the screenplay, i.e. addresses by the writers.
>>All the ruins seen in Beneath are from the 20th Century.
<<
Which means that familiar landmarks were still around 500 years later.
That's not much of a stretch. Plus in Dehn's original screenplay, the
underground city that Brent comes upon is futuristic looking and devoid of any
familiar landmarks. In fact, Brent doesn't find out he's back on Earth until the
Mutants are interrogating him. Now whether or not we ended up seeing 20th
Century ruins because of limited productions costs (William
Creber's explanation in BEHIND the POTA of how current photographs of
NYC were used to show futuristic ruins), or because they wanted something
visually on par with the ruins of the Statue of Liberty is something we'll never
know. But if there had been a bit of exposition definitively stating that
the nuclear war originally happened in the 2500's, NO ONE would have
had a problem accepting the fact that the Statue of Liberty was still
there. So why question the other landmarks?
>>Taylor even refers to the bomb as a souvenir from the 20th Century.
<<
Which means that it was built in the 20th Century and he knew about it
before he left Earth.
>>> Truthfully, there's more that's been established in
the film/television series that actually supports Zira's explanation
of events. <<<
>>Really? What exactly in the film series supports it?
<<
In Escape, it's established that the original downfall of humanity took
place 500 years after apes were taken in as pets. Late 20th Century + 500 years
= 2500's. In the TV series, a book shows NYC in the year 2503. Again, 500
years. Not only is that Math 101, but you're really getting to the point
where you could also apply the principle of Occam's razor as
well. There are far more explanations necessary to justify the circular timeline
than the alternate one. Far more assumptions as well. Granted both require some
explanation with certain parts, but it's much simpler to accept that
Cornelius & Zira were telling the truth than assume that Dehn deliberately
wrote an inaccuracy into his own screenplay and then never addressed it.
Additionally, almost any time travel story EVER written has focused on
the concept of how going back in time will alter future events. This was
even addressed in ESCAPE when Hasslein and the President were discussing what to
do after Hasslein presents the recording he made of Zira when she was drunk.
Everyone seems to forget that even though Cornelius & Zira travelled back to
1973, that didn't negate the events that brought them there in the first
place. All that history still happened (hence their very existence), but their
arrival at a point in time where they previously didn't exist will obviously
have an effect. Which we see in CONQUEST.
>>> The audience didn't witness the nuclear war either but takes
that as fact. <<< >>Except that many of the characters who
refer to it actually witnessed the event and the <<
I seem to have forgotten which character in PLANET/BENEATH was alive for
centuries and had witnessed the original downfall of mankind.
>>>Exactly my point. If something is an element of the story it is
clearly stated and established. <<
Like Cornelius & Zira telling that oft referred to history of mankind's
downfall? That's an element of the story.
>>My point is is that because the audience nor the characters who
releated those events witnessed them, that leaves the door open for many
other explainations to the continuity error and thus cannot be used to
definitively establish that C&Z created an alternate timeline.
<<
Except that the guy who wrote the screenplays worked that exact
idea in matter-of-factly. Unless you want to argue that he was ignoring
what he wrote in his own previous screenplays? He would also later revisit
this same theme in BATTLE. And again, the circular timeline takes
continuity errors to justify extrapolation, while proponents of the alternate
timeline use established dates in the films that essentially work overall. Once
more, we have Occam's razor.

By stripping out everything that made the franchise popular in the first
place. Not matter how you sum that up, it's a hollow victory at best.
Ultimately, how anything stands up over the course of time is it's

Both of the
artists who provided the images for our exclusive prints had been signing for
us daily at the con. I showed Joe Jusko hanging out and being interviewed on
Thursday, now it's Sanjulian's turn.
Here he is on Saturday signing and sketching on the large banner featuring
his art that we had made for our booth.

And at the table during the signing.

Despite the fact that none of us spoke Spanish, and Sanjulian didn't speak
English, we got along really well and he's wonderful person. Joe Jusko had
said that Sanjulian was a big influence on him as a kid, and ironically
enough, their booths were next to each other in the artist's section of main
floor (nothing we planned, just happy coincidence).
A fan of Sanjulian's who had just met him the first day of the con was kind
enough to hang out each day and help us with translations (his names escapes
me, but I will find out and update as we owe him a thanks).
The Apes universe hasn't seen the last of Sanjulian's brush.

I've been negligent in mention this, mainly due to
the fact that the blog app I've been using on my iPhone to blog the con not
having the functionality to do links easy (we'll forget my laziness in not
wanting to type out the url), but we got another author talking about us!
Robert J. Sawyer was cool enough to give us a mention on his blog
the other day when our editor Rich dropped him a line about the project. Mr.
Sawyer is a well known and respected author and futurist, and he's got a new
TV show being adapted from his novel FlashForward set to go on ABC soon. He's
a big fan of the POTA movies, and from his reaction to the news of our
novels, I'd say we caught his interest.
* * *
Among the many fans and convention-goers who stopped by over the weekend was
Lou Anders, editorial director for Pyr Books.
Lou had given us a mention last week on his personal blog, and along with the
many other things he was doing at San Diego, he was out and about conducting
quick interviews for the podcast Adventures in SciFi
Publishing, of which I was one (my first for this project). I'm not sure
if I will make the cut or not, but don't let that stop you from checking out
the podcast. Hosts Shaun and Sam do an excellent job of bringing you
entertaining and informative interviews and industry news, and if you have
any interest in SF/F publishing and how it works you should check out the
show archives, it's a treasure chest of awesome advice. I know Sam was at the
convention, and she was on my list of people to track down and stalk--uhm, I
mean talk to, but I sadly didn't get the chance.
Here's Lou at the booth, doing what I like to call his "Action Lou
Anders" pose:

We were both wearing orange shirts. I was much less action oriented in the
picture he took of me, however. I'm thinking it was just a coincidence.
I still have a couple of bits left over from SDCC, not all necessarily
Conspiracy related, which I'll put up tomorrow.

For all those who are head over heels for the
new "Star Trek", here's your cold shower: "Star Trek" has made only slightly
more worldwide than POTA2001. It's done a lot better in North America but all
total, "Star Trek" has brought in $ 379 million to POTA2001's $ 362 million. Add
in POTA's budget of $ 100 million compared to ST's $ 150 million (plus POTA
having come out 8 years ago Monday and the inflation since) and it's logical,
Captain, that it's at least a tie. (thanks to Al for pointing this out).
Of course, "Star Trek" is much more liked
and that will add to it's bottom line (merchandise, DVDs, sequel
audiences), once again showing the value of an actual good movie.
But wait! "Transformers 2", which people
don't seem to like, is the summer's box office champ with $ 785
million worldwide. Oh, this just in: Fox has
officially changed the name of their new movie from "Caesar" to "Planet of the
Apeformers". I should've known!

I meant to include in this paragraph that the futuristic looking
underground city was a clear indicator that Dehn did not intend to convey
that the nuclear war happened 2000 prior to the events in PLANET and BENEATH. As
has been pointed out with what initially appeared as a throwaway line
about Zira's pregnancy, Dehn probably had a lot more planned out and worked
into these scripts than he gets credit for.

.htmlWell if you want to go by Dehn's original screenplay in it he describes the portrait of Mendez I (dated 1997) as a U.S. General wearing a 20th Century uniform.
As far as the futuristic city, in the original screenplay Mendez says the mutants built it "out of the blackened bowels of the old".
But instead of trying to interpret Dehn, we can just go by what the man himself said about it: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/pota/files/Dehn/Dehn1.jpg please not the highlighted paragraph at the bottom of the page.

Subject: [pota] OT: "King Kong" getting a prequel too
Prequels seem to be what the fashionable ape
is wearing. POTA has it's "Caesar" and now there's word of a prequel to
"King
Kong" (based on the book "Kong: King of Skull Island"). Apparently not
affiliated with Peter Jackson or the recent remake.

Very true but it is also a trick used by many writers to get themselves off the hook for inconsistancies. For example, in the Star Trek:TNG episode where Scotty is found he makes a statement that Kirk was still alive when he was lost. Yet in the movie Star Trek Generations the audience sees that Scotty was present when Kirk was lost & presumed dead. So which version is correct. Obviously the version that the audience witnesses.
> You yourself pointed out that Dehn clearly identified to the audience that > Cornelius & Zira were lying to the Commission and "If it was an element > of the story that they had lied in either case, there would have been > some indication of it to let the audience know". Similarly, if he had > intended that Cornelius & Zira's retelling of ape history was factually > incorrect, the audience would have been informed of that as well.
Now two things about Dehn should be noted. When he wrote each film he thought it was the last of the series so in many ways he wasn't planning ahead to the next film. Also, he did make a lot of mistakes when it came to the details (i.e. 3978 vs. 3955). So when he wrote that scene in Escape I would bet that he wasn't pay much attention to how it contradicted what had been established in Planet & Beneath or even Cornelius' line about apes speaking English for 2,000 years nor was he thinking forward to what he would do if there was a fourth film.
> Having one statement where Cornelius says that the apes spoke a certain language > for nearly 2000 years and another where both he and Zira say that the > downfall of humanity took place 500 years after apes were first taken in > as pets contradict each other. If anything, it comes across as more of a > botched attempt at lying for fear of repercussion. Which they admitted > doing to Lewis and Stevie. >
But they never said that Cornelius had lied about that. Why would Cornelius lie about that? What would be his motivation? They have far greater motivation to lie about the 500 year timeline. But I don't buy that they were lying about that either, as some have contented. In both cases the dialogue is written and delivered as if the characters are speaking the truth as they know it. But that's the out for the writer for any future inconsistancies that may arise. They thought it was the truth but they were mistaken. Terry Nation commented on a similar situation in regard to the origins of the Daleks. When he did an origin story in the '70s many fans complained that elements of it were inconsistant with a version the origin story that had been related in an earlier episode from the '60s. Nation admits that he revised the origin story and that any inconsistancy could be attributed to the first version
was due to it coming from centuries-old oral history which was simply wrong.

It's not dismissed in the screenplay. The point of that scene is not that Cornelius was wrong but that Zaius is trying to kill his theory anyway he can.

> Statue of Liberty was still there. So why question the other landmarks? >
Well there wasn't any exposition to say that. And if landmarks from the 20th Century had survived why didn't any from the 25th? Surely some should have but we never seen any of them. All the audience is shown is from the 20th Century.
As far as what was in the original script I already addressed it here: http://movies.groups.yahoo.com/group/pota/message/54329 > > > > > In Escape, it's established that the original downfall of humanity took > place 500 years after apes were taken in as pets. Late 20th Century + 500 > years = 2500's.
It's not definitively established because the audience never sees it and it is inconsistant with too many things that had come before.
> In the TV series, a book shows NYC in the year 2503.
References to the TV series are invalid. It was produced and written by different people than who worked on the films. Plus there was never any definitive proof that the TV series and the film series are connected. And the TV series contradicted itself by the third episode, "The Trap".
> Again, 500 years. Not only is that Math 101, but you're really getting to > the point where you could also apply the principle of Occam's razor as > well. There are far more explanations necessary to justify the circular > timeline than the alternate one. Far more assumptions as well.
No just one assumption; that the 500 year timeframe related by C&Z was inaccurate. Whereas the other way around you have to assume that Cornelius' dating of the artifacts in the cave was wrong, that no landmarks from the 21st, 22nd, 23rd 24th or 25th centuries survived a nuclear war but somehow a bunch from the 20th century did, that Human civilization still used nuclear weapons in the 25th century & that no other powerful or effective weapons had been developed in the intervening 500 years so they kept around the 500 year old Alpha-Omega bomb just in case and that Cornelius was lying when he said apes spoke english for 500 years. That's a lot of assumptions.
> Granted both require some explanation with certain parts, but it's much simpler > to accept that Cornelius & Zira were telling the truth than assume that > Dehn deliberately wrote an inaccuracy into his own screenplay and then > never addressed it.
Not saying that Dehn did so deliberately just that he made a continuity error which is not hard to believe since he made others.
> Additionally, almost any time travel story EVER > written has focused on the concept of how going back in time will alter > future events.
Well that is just not true. Many, many time travel stories were written as a time loop. The original Terminator was, so were many episodes of The Twilight Zone, Star Trek, Doctor Who and even Stargate. But examples from other stories or films or TV shows are invalid anyway. POTA exists in its own universe with it's own set of rules. It's like saying just no other story was ever written about the Force, the concept can't be used in Star Wars.
> This was even addressed in ESCAPE when Hasslein and the > President were discussing what to do after Hasslein presents the > recording he made of Zira when she was drunk. Everyone seems to forget > that even though Cornelius & Zira travelled back to 1973, that didn't > negate the events that brought them there in the first place. All that > history still happened (hence their very existence), but their arrival at > a point in time where they previously didn't exist will obviously have an > effect. Which we see in CONQUEST.
You're making a big assumption here. It is never once stated that they previously didn't exist. There is not one line of dialogue to support that. And in the discussion in the President's office Hasslein is making the case to kill C&Z because he believes their existence will lead to the future they came from. It is the entire motivation of his character. If C&Z's arrival in the 20th Century is irrelevent to the future seen in Planet & Beneath; there is no dramatic point to the entire film.
Also, while it can be argued that Caesar's presence accelerated the Ape rebellion, how did it accelerate apes going from pets to slaves from 200 to only 7 years? He was off with the circus during that time so he have could not have affected those events.
> > > > I seem to have forgotten which character in PLANET/BENEATH was alive for > centuries and had witnessed the original downfall of mankind.
But the audience witnessed the results of those events.
> > > > Like Cornelius & Zira telling that oft referred to history of mankind's > downfall? That's an element of the story.
It's really not an element of the story is is just backstory. You can cut that entire scene from Escape and it wouldn't make a difference in how the rest of the film proceeds.
> > > > Except that the guy who wrote the screenplays worked that exact idea in > matter-of-factly.
Why work it in 'matter-of-factly' when he could have just stated it directly? Why is there not one like of dialogue that does so?
But if you want to know what Dehn did state directly, take a look at this: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/pota/files/Dehn/Dehn2.jpg and this: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/pota/files/Dehn/Dehn3.jpg please not the highlighted text which are direct quotes from Dehn.
> Unless you want to argue that he was ignoring what he > wrote in his own previous screenplays?
No just that he made mistakes on some details. And if you go back and re-read the second paragraph here: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/pota/files/Dehn/Dehn3.jpg is sounds like he was ignoring the 500 year timeframe when he wrote Conquest.
> He would also later revisit this same theme in BATTLE. And again, the circular > timeline takes continuity errors to justify extrapolation,
No way! The alternate timeline is an extrapolation based on a continuity error that can be explained in many other ways. It totally ignores many things established before as well as dialogue such as Milo saying "Earth will be destroyed just as we saw it, the Lawgiver saying that C&Z "decended on Earth from Earth's own future" and Caesar telling Aldo, "I went looking for my past but found our future" and Paul Dehn's direct quotes about it.
> while proponents of the alternate timeline use established dates in the films that essentially work overall.
What established dates? And exactly how do they work overall? Please be specific.
Once more, we have Occam's razor. > Well Occam's Razor states that the explanation of any phenomenon should make as few assumptions as possible. So to explain the inconsistancy of C&Z's 500 year timeframe, there is only one assumption (that it wasn't totally accurate) needed for a circular timeline. Whereas for an altered timeline you need to assume everything established before (listed above) is wrong and that Dehn's direct comments are wrong as well as the dialogue spoken by Hasslein, Milo, the Lawgiver and Caesar is all wrong. Sounds like many more assumptions to me.

Possibly but the AO bomb was a weapon. I think the exact line is 'that weapon was built by man, you can't shoot it down with only a clip of bullets'; whereas the statue was just a structure not a weapon. And he had the Gorillas use explosives to blow-up the cave so it is not inconceivable that he would have explosives used to destroy the statue.

.htmlSins of the Father is an interesting story and a valid interpetation. But being a comic book story it is not canon so it does not end the discussion and other interpetations are equally valid.

Have you forgotten your scripture?
"It had been 30 years since my father allowed me to share the secret
with him. And it has been 3 days since I allowed the talking human
named Taylor to share it as well."
Sins of the Father 26:1"
What the hell is "Sins of the Father"? And travelling to see the

News from Spain!
I had just found this in "El Corte Inglés" a famous superstore here in Spain. Is a large book (29x29cm, 100 pages) with the five DVDs inside, is full of good quality photos, some of them I never seen before. The text had some unaccuracy and mistakes but is the lesser part. The price is 39.99 euro.
The best thing: no mention to 2001 remake.
This was a great surprise. I hope you enjoy this news.

.html.html
That’s the plan Jess.
I’m getting a massive payout in the very
near future and I am spending whatever it takes to get a monthly comic back on
the shelves.
We have some work to do but we already
have issue #1 of BEGINS nearly complete.
That’s a 3 part comic with a tie-in
back story that essentially deals with how I feel the apes came to be, and
KRONOS who was one of the first genetic experiments, who (like the more modern
Vampires) has a life expectancy well beyond normal humans and apes.
My apes are in
Australia and they get on fine with
humans….until some factions stir things up (and I base this directly on
Hitler and the Nazis of our own history).
ANYWAY – more of that when it’s
on the news stand!
If all goes well I’d like to get BTB coloured and out there too (I’d
really like to get it translated to Japanese too – I think there’s
an ENORMOUS untapped POTA fan base there!).
I’ll also be doing a TV show comic
for UK
specific release so if anyone here has an interest in this project please get
in touch. It will probably be a 3 parter like I envisioned “GOING
HOME” but I’ll be trying to please fans instead of demolishing
their heroes this time. This 3 parter will introduce fresh characters and
again if it is successful I’ll do more.
The best thing about this is that I will
just need to break EVEN! No profit, and I may even be so loaded I can afford
a loss!
SO…all things considered, Neil and I
will at LEAST be able to afford to go under the Apemania goo and get decked out,
and come see all our American cousins at the convention. And hopefully
most will be apes!
If all goes to plan we’ll be
promoting the new comic, and if I can afford it I’ll hire Brian and pals
(or maybe Fox will help…Drew will be bloated on profits too and may chip
in!:) to monkey around.
That’s if I get out of Apemania with
any cash left! J
So that’s the plan – and I mean
it when I say I want helpers re the TV Show comics and I also mean it when I
say if you don’t take me up on the offer, then don’t go crying
about it later and saying “you killed Pete!!!!”. This is an
offer to any interested party to steer the future of POTA comics as a team of
fans – all bad blood aside, all past nasties gone. But don’t
wait around too long because this is HAPPENING.
Michael

Ironic, because at one time - bar about the last six to ten pages - it had already been coloured :0(

Dear Michael
I would love to contribute to the TV project. I write
(mainly scripts) and would love to put some new adventures together
(possibly an arc story line?) for the TV characters.
Maybe some rare photos too?

ThatÂ’s the plan
Jess.
IÂ’m getting a massive
payout in the very near future and I am spending whatever it takes to get a
monthly comic back on the shelves.
We have some work to do
but we already have issue #1 of BEGINS nearly complete.
ThatÂ’s a 3 part comic
with a tie-in back story that essentially deals with how I feel the apes came to
be, and KRONOS who was one of the first genetic experiments, who (like the more
modern Vampires) has a life expectancy well beyond normal humans and
apes.
My apes are in
Australia and they get on fine with humansÂ….until some
factions stir things up (and I base this directly on Hitler and the Nazis of our
own history).
ANYWAY – more of that
when itÂ’s on the news stand!
If all goes well IÂ’d like to get BTB
coloured and out there too (IÂ’d really like to get it translated to Japanese too
– I think there’s an ENORMOUS untapped POTA fan base
there!).
IÂ’ll also be doing a TV
show comic for UK specific release so if anyone here has
an interest in this project please get in touch. It will probably be a 3
parter like I envisioned “GOING HOME” but I’ll be trying to please fans instead
of demolishing their heroes this time. This 3 parter will introduce fresh
characters and again if it is successful IÂ’ll do more.
The best thing about
this is that I will just need to break EVEN! No profit, and I may even be
so loaded I can afford a loss!
SOÂ…all things
considered, Neil and I will at LEAST be able to afford to go under the Apemania
goo and get decked out, and come see all our American cousins at the
convention. And hopefully most will be apes!
If all goes to plan
weÂ’ll be promoting the new comic, and if I can afford it IÂ’ll hire Brian and
pals (or maybe Fox will helpÂ…Drew will be bloated on profits too and may chip
in!:) to monkey around.
ThatÂ’s if I get out of
Apemania with any cash left! J
So that’s the plan –
and I mean it when I say I want helpers re the TV Show comics and I also mean it
when I say if you donÂ’t take me up on the offer, then donÂ’t go crying about it
later and saying “you killed Pete!!!!”. This is an offer to any interested
party to steer the future of POTA comics as a team of fans – all bad blood
aside, all past nasties gone. But donÂ’t wait around too long because this
is HAPPENING.
Michael

Cool bananas John – start piling
things up and let’s get on it!
What I have in mind is a wrap-up/farewell
to the old TV Show as a 3 part story that introduces new characters (these new
characters would then be the focus of new stories that don’t resemble the
“let’s move on to the NEXT town” formula).
Similar to GOING HOME but a bit more
respectful to the TV Show (which I do love – but I really don’t
LIKE it that much….but I think when I wrote “GOING HOME” I
actually HATED it!).
Anyway – for those of you who SAW
Going Home, typically brilliant stuff from Neil….ALMOST carried the
shitty story! J
SPOILER!
I think it should involve Alan’s son (Chris is it?) having done what all
good POTA Astros do and having set off to look for dad and buddies and also have
one character who is a bit of w “Lost In Space Dr Smith” (was that
in an original script or possibly one of SS “lost stories”?).
Also I want the main ape character to
break convention and be a gorilla (I don’t know why but I am even
thinking maybe a gay gorilla! – CRIKEY! As if being a FIUGITIVE isn’t
enough!).
And keeping in mind comics require ACTION
and they are VISUAL…..

Actually, this is an opportunity to help
steer the stories at the moment which is not something I’d pay for. Did Ty pay
us when he asked for ideas/comments? No, and nor should he have.
Anyone who submits a full story would be
paid for that is they ask for payment. Ty might be able to tell me what people
are getting paid (and HOW – per page….etc?).
And again I guess everything depends on
what the comics make…..if they provide me with thousands in profit then of
course I’d be generous with that.
However I anticipate losing shitloads of
money and the last thing I need is people holding their hands out!
So yeah Neil will be paid, if he chooses
to get other srtists/colourers they too will be paid, writers wil be paid, but
the committee I am putting together would be doing it for love and a promise
that if all my extravagance comes to something I’d compensate them too.
Does that make sense?
