(Q) How are Fathom Events broadcast in movie theaters?
(A) Currently, Fathom Events has access to more than 17,000 screens and more than 750 live broadcast theaters in the top 50 markets in the United States. Fathom Events beams live and pre-recorded events via satellite to audiences in cinemas via our digital broadcast network.

Jaws looked great when I saw it last year, but it was probably just Blu-ray quality.

Well, the designated AMC theater in North Houston (Texas, on 17145 Tomball Parkway) didn't even have a poster up for the film, apparently anywhere within its large cinematic complex of over a dozen theaters.  I had hoped to see such promoting underway so that Star Trek Beyond, and also Independence Day spillovers could see the poster(s) and become potential fans.   Not to be though, for whatever reason.

     The digital quality was reasonably good, albeit not so much so during tthe initial space scene part.  I guess that they couldn't do but so much with 1960s film.    

      I'm surprised the the window of the Icarus still shows those 1960s quasars, instead of something that looks more like what a space traveler really might see.   George Lucas would have likely fixed this if it had been HIS movie.   

    Anyhow, does anyone here think that the interview scene of "Dr. Zaius" mainly before but also after the film is a sufficiently worthwhile part of the experience?   I certainly don't want to knock Fathom Events for having cared enough to show our movie nationwide.   However, I'm inclined to think that I could have done without those skits.   What value did they add, other than give late-arriving straddlers a little more time to get seated & comfortable?   Fortunately those skits were relatively brief.  

    All in all, I'm very grateful to have had this opportunity.   Thanks to Fathom Events, and those of you who enabled me to learn about this opportunity months ago.   :-)

Well, the theater here in Asheville, NC turns out wasn't showing it today, but only this Wednesday the 27th at 2 and 7PM, so I have to wait three more days, and a matinee in the middle of the week probably means I'll be about the only one there.

    In which city did you see POTA yesterday?   We had a dozen or so in attendance in North Houston for the 2p.m. show.   It's a good hour's drive (if not more) from there to NASA JSC.   I hope attendance was better near there.

   BTW, yes the sound was apparently in mono when I saw it, too.
