Well I have discussed this with THADERULES and he was referring to a
map that Glen has posted on the POTA group.

Frankly, I think the map is pretty darned cool.

If anyone wishes to post it you will see what I mean - a lot of
thought and effort went into it and I can't imagine why someone would
want to pizzle this!

Wow, very interesting. That looks like it was the original idea for the Dr. Zaius at the bomb controls model and the Cornelius at the NY Stock Exchange one next to him but it looks like they changed their minds about the other lot of figures.
That looks like it was going to be a female chimp with a baby or something over on the right and it also looks like they were going to have the bases all join up!

Neil, I actually understand quite well what you mean about being
tired of it all. For about a decade, I wrote for Star Trek
Communicator and several Star Wars licensees, but it got to a point
where it just seemed like too much work and not enough fun. I
haven't done any work for either franchise in over a year, and it's
been a pleasant break, allowing me to finish my POTA timeline
website, focus more on my daytime editing job and, most importantly,
spend more time with my children. There comes a point where an
avocation starts feeling like a vocation, and at that point the joy
tends to go out of it since hobbies are entirely voluntary but jobs
are not. Once a hobby becomes a job, you start feeling like you have
to live up to others' expectations instead of being whatever kind of
fan you want to be. You've been heavily involved in POTA fandom for
several years now, and as such -- especially with running a group --
I wouldn't be surprised if that's how you're beginning to feel. I can empathze.

You know Michael, it's funny you should mention that...

I had thought about printing one of Neil's pages very lightly on to board and just painting  over it like I would my own underpaintings as an experiment, I've never work on other peoples stuff,so I don't know if it would work...

    This does look interesting.

I would assume the female chimp with a baby was going to be a Zira model.

As for all the bases joining up , didn't Addar do some cave men /pre-historic kits that did this, so there's a precedent...

As far as the sketch goes, I also think that the possible female with child was going to be Zira... And, I sort of think that the one on the far left was maybe going to be a Caesar from CONQUEST, just kinda looks that way to me...

And, you're right that there were the dinosaur models, but they were made by AURORA, not ADDAR... (But ADDAR was a "split off" company of ex-AURORA employees I believe, so, you're almost right;) )

picture. Eric Fox who is doing my "Apes" sleeve did the portrait
completely in shades of red. Its pretty impressive when you can really

I've really "gone off" this painting since seeing it printed (No
offence meant at all to the Scoll guys, it was cool that they used
it !!! but I seem to remember that they printed from a hard copy I'd
sent them from my printer so it did change the colours and hence I've
started to pay more attention to the figures in the paintings since )
If I find it I might try and play with it some more.

    Hi Michael,

I now scan the pictures myself and send files , that's what I did with Greg and the trading cards and play with the colour in photo shop.

With Scolls I didn't know when they were going to use the Urko pic so I didn't send them a file ,I'm pretty certain they only had a colour  copy of the picture to work from, so all things considered it could have come out a lot worse than it did.

The other thing is unless everyones moniter is calibrated, including the printers, there's always go-ing to be differences because what one person is seeing on screen might not look the same to some one else.

    Best,Graham.

Happy National Gorilla Suit Day! ( http://tinyurl.com/cb7k9 ). This week's issue sports an Aldo hell-bent on hunting down mutants. First up an apology about the post I recently sent to the group regarding a cover I did for Simian Scrolls. Dave Ballard of Scrolls thinks that the word ‘rejected’ is perhaps a little harsh, so I'm sorry for that Dave. I should have just said not wanted, not needed or unused?

Also would the group member who forwarded that post to Dave under the pseudonym 'Mr Angry' please have the guts to tell us all who you are or at the very least do the honourable thing and leave the group.

I wouldn't be surprised if you are also the same person who has, for the past year, been sending me insulting and derogatory emails using various different Yahoo IDs.

So stop being a coward and reveal yourself please. And folks be careful what you say in your posts. Someone is obviously spying on the group and you don't know who they will target next, it could be you!

                Thank You,

New month (well down here already) and a new Home Page picture to enjoy. It's another Graham Hill painting and damn fine it is too!

I'm sure Graham will provide an explanation about this one.

                Oh no, here's another link.

                http://www.calart. com/Data/ PhotoPages/ Emil_KosaJr_ 4387.asp

I guess he died in 1968.  That would explain why his work wasn't in the sequels.

In this week's chapter of the Beneath adaptation, Brent is a bit of a spoilsport regarding the holiday, as there are no gorillas, or any apes at all for that matter, to be found in this week's chapter.
