Actually - go here and listen to "The Sound of White" for
free!
It's
kinda depressing, but hopeful....
Her
voice is the best I have heard since Kate Bush.
She
wries all her own songs and plays piano/sings them.
Enjoy.

Always got a soft spot for female solo artists, early exposure to Ricky Lee Jones is to blame.

right, they played at the Derby Hall in Bury, I remember hearing about that riot

I also remember
going to an Art Student fancy dress party at that same hall, dressed in a Womble

the promotions people at Granada TV thanks to a friend of hers, Pat Phoenix

*** Actually, I have said in the past that the actions of Milo had to have been going on as PLANET was occuring, at least the later half and into the time of BENEATH...
(I have said just because it wasn't seen on screen doesn't mean it didn't happen...) Still, with this being presented as PLANET, I just think it should be PLANET and any "Milo stories" occuring
should be presented in a "sequel style" or a PLANET-related backstory... I mean they could have had a story which occured dealing with Milo, and even set at the same time as PLANET, but it should then be

.html .html.html
OK everyone listen up.....
Recently there have been a series of Fox "Cold War/Spy" movies released on DVD in kind of mini-special editions, these have included the Arthur P. Jacobs/Mort Abraham's produced THE CHAIRMAN (1969), THE
QUILLER MEMORANDUM (1966) and the 1966-67 James Coburn FLINT films. What's made these DVDs fun for me is that they all have commentary tracks by two uber movie geeks, Eddie Friedfeld and Lee Pfeiffer.
Both are middle-aged film scholars who teach in colleges in New York City, and Lee Pfeiffer edits the magazine "Cinema Retro" out of England (see: www.cinemaretro.com), and they are huge fans of films from the
60's and 70's and, of course, that includes the APES films. In their commentaries for these recent Cold War/Spy DVDs they often mention the APES movies.
Anyway, I've had an email contact with one of them, Eddie Friedfeld, about getting all the APES movies commentary tracks for a future DVD release, perhaps a 40th Anniversary Blu-ray special edition. He and his
partner have a desire to do it, and they'd like to hear from as many APES fans as possible -- in emails -- so as to show Fox there's support in the market for it.
So, I'm now asking EVERYONE in these Yahoo groups to email this guy and tell him you want commentariy tracks for EACH film, and then anything else you desire for a future DVD release of the APES films. The
FLINT films had a host of new featurettes, including a tribute to Jerry Goldsmith. The commentary tracks these two guys do are a lot of fun to listen to.
So, here's his name again... Eddie Friedfeld... and his email address is:
Q007solo@...
Also, spread the word to other APES fans you know who aren't in these Yahoo groups. Let's see what we can get done.

somewhat.

As far as
I'm concerned there's nothing wrong with having Milo included to flesh out
some of the stuff that must have been going on in the background whilst we
were seeing what was happening on screen in Planet. And as for a straight
audio adoption of the film that adds nothing, I don't see the point. May as
well just listen to the movie without watching it.
*** Actually, I have said in the past that the
actions of Milo had to have been going on as PLANET was occuring, at least the
later half and into the time of BENEATH... (I have said just because it
wasn't seen on screen doesn't mean it didn't happen...) Still, with this being
presented as PLANET, I just think it should be PLANET and any "Milo stories"
occuring should be presented in a "sequel style" or a PLANET-related
backstory... I mean they could have had a story which occured dealing with
Milo, and even set at the same time as PLANET, but it should then be Milo's
individual quest... People tend to forget that PLANET is Taylor's story!
And, as far as a PLANET audio adaption, it could be done as a

Last week we had the final issue of Marvel UK's Planet of the Apes, which left us hanging in the middle (okay, more like near the end) of the Battle adaptation. Those of you who were worried about missing the
end of this classic adaptation need worry no longer (and really, you should work on your reading comprehension, because I said last week there was more to come). This week we begin posting the 16 issues (231 through
246) of Mighty World of Marvel that contained the last of the Marvel Apes material that was published in the UK. First off we'll be finishing the Battle adaptation. In the weeks to come we'll revisit
the Terror storyline as well as the Future History Chronicles.
Also available this week is part 4 of the BBC Radio 4 Book at Bedtime adaptation of Pierre Boule's novel. Thanks to Neil Moxham and David Bryan for providing the files. Also thanks to Neil Foster for supplying

It happens-I know. But it doesn't stray far from the original, just a few additions my friend. Thank you for listening!

yg-alerts@yahoogroups.com Subject: [yg-alerts] Update: Some Groups
Members not receiving messages
From February 28 about 2:30 p.m. (Pacific time) until March 1 about 11:15
a.m. (Pacific time) (http://www.timeandd ate.com/worldclo ck/), some
members of some groups were not receiving email. Some members of some of
these groups were able to see the posts on their group archive on the Web,
but were not receiving them via email. Groups mail delivery is back to normal
as of about 11:15 a.m. (Pacific time). We now have more information about
what caused this.
While we were working on an improvement to our email
delivery systems, email delivery was inadvertently suspended for some members
of some groups. This problem did not affect all Groups users.
Unfortunately, while messages posted to affected groups during this time were
saved to group archives, the messages cannot now be delivered via email.
If your group's archives are open to your members (more info about Archive
settings: http://help. yahoo.com/ help/us/groups/ messages/ messages- 16.html"),
your members can access the undelivered messages via the Web. If your group's
archives are not open to your members, you may want to suggest that your members
resend any messages they had sent between yesterday afternoon and this morning,
if they want to ensure that all members of the group receive
them.
Yesterday's work was part of our ongoing efforts to improve
the performance of Yahoo! Groups and was not supposed to involve
any downtime for users. The delivery glitch was the result of human
error, and because it only affected some members of some groups, it
delayed both our awareness of the problem and our efforts to resolve it.
We sincerely regret the inconvenience it may have caused.

Groups Team

I'm
confused.....
There's a "Lesson
From the Lawgiver" in the intro.
In it, an ape asks
the Lawgiver if he is wise or a fool....if he should have engaged in a "flame
war" with his neighbour or if he should let it go.
Now, the Lawgiver
reflects then tells the ape he is wise because he has learned a
lesson.
My question
is...WHAT LESSON?!?!? The ape has not learned anything so far as I can
tell....he is still unsure as to how he should have reacted.
Did I miss
something?
Hey - by the
way.....Neil, could you post a few of our "False Lawgiver" strips? I
wonder if the guys at Broken Sea could make a slide-show with audio for
them? Fellas?

No I
never thought you would be buying into it intentionally.
It is
a shame that James has manipulated a great idea into another vessel to shoot
arrows.
Didn't
you think it was strange that Glen Schmutz on the POTA group said the audio was
"better than comics any day" (loose quote there)? That was a direct
offence at Neil who sacrifices most of his waking hours providing free comics
for an incredibly thankless fan base.
The
"Lessons From The Lawgiver" are, on the whole, an attack on Neil and myself and
this group. There are exceptions, but after I read about 5 and most of
these were cowardly attacks, I left that group and I refuse to read
them.

Hi John, just thought I'd de-lurk for a sec' and jump in here and say I'm sure Neil and Michael don't see you, myself and the majority of the people here as thankless users.
Just to put words into their mouths for a second I just think the levels of frustration for them is quite high at the moment, it doesn't seem like a month goes by with out another internet
spat,one way or another...
I have listened to the start of the audio... and well...
Having been caught up in the middle of one at the start of Jan' it just drains all your energy...
As I say it may not be my place to say but it looks like this from the sidelines.
On a more cheerful note hows your tattoo coming along ?
As always best wishes Graham.

responsible for the original scan, but I am the one who made it available.
I've uploaded a font to this group that I made myself, and which I know has been used a few times without giving me credit. I made it for myself, and then I made it available because I figured someone would
appreciate it, not because I need to have my ego constantly stroked. I could've released it one letter at a time with the provision that each one had to be adequately discussed before I'd release the next, but
that would've been annoying as hell.

I contribute when I feel I have something worthwhile. I uploaded a
scan of Caesar's flyer from Conquest to the original group, and it's now on
Hunter Goatley's site credited to Mark Nems. I'm not responsible for the
original scan, but I am the one who made it available.
I've uploaded a font to this group that I made myself, and which I know
has been used a few times without giving me credit. I made it for myself, and
then I made it available because I figured someone would appreciate it, not
because I need to have my ego constantly stroked. I could've released it one
letter at a time with the provision that each one had to be adequately
discussed before I'd release the next, but that would've been annoying as
hell.

No I don't expect
you all to do that and the general apathy is not the main reason why I am
cutting back.
The final
straw was because one individual (who I used to think of as a friend
in the POTA community) was, in a recent incident, overly eager to jump
on an email he received about me from some anonymous person and try to make a
big issue of it. This person then proceeded without my knowledge to involve an
innocent 3rd party in my private emails with him, stating that he needed to
have an independent 'witness' and subtly inferring I was
untrustworthy and a liar, proceeding to do a bang up character assassination of
myself in the process.
It was his
bad luck that I was forwarded one of the emails that he was sending out behind
my back and he was found out.
This was the final
thing (on top of numerous insulting emails I have received over the last year or
so from some gutless anonymous jerk) that has really soured my love of
participating in anything to do with POTA on line.

I don't know exactly how long it took to get my font to the point where I was ready to share it, but I worked on it off and on for several years. That isn't the point. It was something I wanted to do. If you
want to write, or if Neil wants to draw, then you should do it for your own pleasure and not because you feel obligated to the group. Nor should we feel obligated to comment on each portion that's doled out to us.
That's like trying to discuss ten-minute sections of the movies or TV series. Sure, we could do it if we had to, but the discussion generated would be awkward and insincere. Quality of conversation is much more
important than quantity.
Neil, you shouldn't punish the entire group because of the actions of a few. And don't kid yourself; denying us the pleasure of viewing your magnificent artwork is true punishment. You deserve to have your
ego stroked once in a while, and you can see that I'm perfectly capable of it, but most of us prefer to comment on finished material. If you don't give us enough of a story to discuss, we can't do anything
but praise the artwork, and it starts to look like you're fishing after a while. Understand?
Yeah, I know you're not drawing to feed your ego, but the ego does get bruised when you do something out of love and it's devoured without comment. There isn't a person in this group who doesn't
appreciate your work, and I dare say the group would not have lasted this long without it.

The

The
sound is clear and sharp and I really like the special effects and the
integration of the TV Show title with samples of music from the

The Lesson from the Lawgiver is a seperate part. It's in there because Bill took an interest in the "lessons" that had been posted. It's not there as part of
the narrative of the actual tale. Which if and when you listen to it you might be able to understand.

*** Well, someone out there was nice enough to send me a file for the first part, so I was able to hear it that way... Yes, I've actually listened to it, and I want to say that this audio drama is
easily:
One of the worst things to ever have the APES name tagged to it...
The Phyllis and Jinn wannabe's suck ass... I wanted to take both of them and let them fry in their "monkey suits," or is that too unPC? And speaking of which, how many times can you say "PC"?
In this story, I'd say it was unlimited! Between the chimps and that taylor guy, it seems as though "PC" was muttered 100 times too many... I wish that was the only thing wrong here, but it isn't...
The acting was poor ... Their "taylor" is totally out of it... "taylor" in this story lacks anything that made Taylor in PLANET so interesting... In the film, Taylor is a true misanthrope while in
this audio show, he isn't... In the audio drama, he doesn't come across as anything but a jerk/buffoon... His disdain for humanity isn't there, and he just comes across as a one dimensional blowhard that
you'd want to smack around... Maybe they decided to change him to that type of figure, because he certainly isn't that man that he was in the film...
Whitty had this to say:
In a message dated 3/4/2007 7:38:24 PM Central Standard Time, whitty@... writes:
I don't like Taylor's voice -- sounds like Clint Eastwood.
Whitty, I've heard some people say that Clint doesn't emote enough emotion in his lines... I'd have to say I never agreed with that myself, and I wanted to say that even in his earliest days Clint had
more emotion in his delivery than we'd ever see here... Hell, Clint's "glaring" delivers more impact!
Whitty also said:
In a message dated 3/4/2007 7:38:24 PM Central Standard Time, whitty@... writes:
Whoever is doing the Roddy imitation (same person doing the Lawgiver I believe?) is doing an absolutely
terrific job
Whitty, speaking in a pseudo/mild British accent does not make one Roddy... The guy is okay on his own as a chimp type, but really, if these guys are doing their own thing so to speak, they shouldn't have even
tried to imitate Roddy... I mean sure the guy might have an accent, that's okay if he delivers his lines that way too, but if he is "trying" to be Roddy, that's wrong... They want their own version of
Planet, so they shouldn't try imitating, do you think?
And also dealing with this Cornelius character: One thing that makes absolutely no sense is the way that at the end he talks about humans being slaves and how they're no good except as field hands... Where in
PLANET do you see ANY human as a slave?!? I don't mean just this audio show either, I mean in several "TV Guide" type movie descriptions they refer to humans as "slaves"... That makes NO SENSE...
In PLANET, the humans are lab-animals, not domesticated "pets" or "slaves"... It bothers me that this show they're doing is perpetuating this...

those German comics last year and the colouring in them is pretty damn good, way
better than the coloured versions that came out in those Marvel reprints. The
only bad thing is that they stopped printing them about half way through the
Escape adaptation.

If i rememer
right, I mentioned these when someone Dario I think it was) mentioned the
color German

*** Well, someone out
there was nice enough to send me a file for the first part, so I was able to
hear it that way... Yes, I've actually listened to it, and I want to say that
this audio drama is easily:

I mean their apes are sure as hell better
than what we had from ADVENTURE's art, but

the question why even bother having the 'lessons' included? They are fan
written texts and not part of POTA cannon unlike the book and movie script
you are using in your re-working, plus non of them really have
anything to do with the story you are trying to tell.
If you really do
feel the need to include them I would have thought it would have been better
myself to do it more like Battle maybe and just have one at the beginning and
another at the very end?
Neil
The Lesson from the Lawgiver is a seperate part. It's in there
because Bill took an interest in the "lessons" that had been posted.
It's not there as part of the narrative of the actual tale.

As I
stated before Neil it's difficult to be objective about any of these "lessons"
when they are indeed (mostly) a cowadly attack.
But
yes, it would be much cooler to have the classroom scene with the lawgiver
having discussions with pupils as in Battle.
