Now come on Michael, as the "official Pom" of the group, you know I should be the first one to mention them !
(...and I'd never acuse you of Sloppiness... you've never missed of the last page of a comic like the Marvel UK crew... the sad thing was no one really noticed:()

live up the street from the old Curtis Publishing building? It's located in Philly a block away from Indepenence Hall. They have a sign on the wall saying that this building was Curtis Publishing and they
produced Saturday Evening Journal etc. No mention of Planet of the Apes (those lousy human bastards).
If you watch the movie Unbreakable. There is a scene filmed inside the Curtis Building. It's a restaurant scene with Bruce Willis and his wife. There is a wild looking mural on the
wall.
I'll take a photo of the builing. --- On Sat, 6/27/09, Michael & Sally Whitty <sallywhitty@...> wrote:

Does anyone know the date that POTA Curtis Magazine #8 was released in the USA ?
Also, did release the "March" issue in February etc?

No actually it isn't, the fact that it's in colour makes that clear. It was actually from an advert for the then upcoming B&W mag which ran in many
of the colour Marvel comics that were around at that time.

T, I do know how to tie wigs now! I spent 40 hours on my hairline alone. Didn't you think it was a vast improvement from the first time I was under the goo? It's also better to glue down
your own sideburns, too with human hair and liquid latex. Better (and cheaper) than what you can find out there!!!

So that you dont have those expensive postage costs.
And if you spend over a certain amount here in the u.k when it comes over we then have to pay custom's tax before they release it to you making it even more expensive.
Surly they could even do a line of cheaper ammo belts and replica rifles.
Hope that Apemania do take note because what they do is great stuff but costs keep us mear mortals from being able to afford there great range.

I'll do it this wknd and post it on Tuesday. Curtis Publishing supposedly has a museum inside. I've got my fingers crossed that they have some type of POTA reference. I'll check it out and take pix of
anything POTA related.

.htmlKevin, I ordered the liquid latex at Alcone Company in New York (
http://www.alconeco.com/
) because I also got the rubber mask grease there but I think you can order it from any FX/makeup site. You can probably find liquid latex at an art store too. It's pretty stinky, so work in a well ventilated
place.

'The Wauchula Woods Accord' stems from writer Charles Siebert's chance encounter with Roger, the chimpanzee
Scribner, 208 pp., $25 Back
in the 1980s, the U.S. government overbred captive chimpanzees in the
frenzied, but mistaken, expectation that these genetically close
primates would become lab surrogates to test a human vaccine against
HIV. Today, there are roughly 3,000 extraneous chimps in the United
States, often, as writer Charles Siebert describes them, as complete
evolutionary anomalies, "a chimpanzee with a name and yet no
recollection of a tree."
Moreover, those cute chimps cavorting in Super Bowl commercials or
lending verisimilitude to "Planet of the Apes" work only as juveniles.
That's because chimpanzees, who are five times stronger than humans
at maturity, can't be managed safely after age 5 or 6. Their remaining
50 or 60 years are spent languishing in cages, roadside attractions,
private homes or sanctuaries.
The consequences of misjudging their wildness can
be horrific -- witness the woman lying in the Cleveland Clinic now
after her face was torn apart in February by 14-year-old Travis, a pet
whose Connecticut owner served him wine in long-stemmed glasses.
Siebert, interested in the fate of these creatures, began knocking
about the country looking for old stars of film and screen. He tells us
what he found in "The Wauchula Woods Accord," a new book that makes
fascinating, thought-provoking and, at times, distressing reading.
In it, Siebert describes Roger, a castrated, hazel-eyed 28-year-old
chimp retired from the Ringling Bros. "Orchestra," in which he played
cello for 10 years.
"The moment Roger saw me .¤.¤. he seemed utterly convinced that we
already knew each other. Actually stood and applauded. Excited but not
overly fawning applause. Three loud, slow claps of his long leathery
hands. As though he'd somehow been expecting me all along. As though to
say, 'Oh you. Finally. Where have you been?' "
The caretakers noticed this vivid, peculiar reaction, too. Siebert
secured permission to stay a week on the grounds of the Center for
Great Apes, on the outskirts of Wauchula, Fla. His beautifully-written
book is framed by an hour-by-hour account of his final night in the
center, sitting up with Roger, staring across their private divide,
trying to puzzle out their meaning to each other.
In between these diarylike entries are ethical, scientific and
historical digressions limning the troubled boundary between humans and
sentient animals, mostly primates, but also elephants, dolphins, even a
giant Pacific octopus.
Siebert, 54, skates farther out than most people onto the ice of
nonverbal, interspecies empathy, but his book will thrill all those zoo
visitors made queasy by what the author calls "the inescapable,
multisided sadness" between captor and captive.
Not as exacting as philosopher Peter Singer, nor as comprehensive as
Jane Goodall, Siebert's book nevertheless belongs on a shelf near
theirs. He rewards us in the final pages with a satisfying insight into
what provoked Roger's reaction to him.
Siebert lets us see that Roger and "and all the other retirees have,
like us, minds enough to lose." Their potential for restoration rests
in the paradox of humans becoming, as Siebert puts it, better animals.

I finished rewatching the TV series about two weeks ago, and the scene in which Burke says that, followed by a look of exasperation on Virdon's face, is probably the funniest moment on
the series. I burst out laughing every time he says that.

That would make sense considering the Brown & Watson annuals only printed TV based comics (unless I'm mistaken), while Marvel only made original or movie-based stories. They must have
been separate entities, they surely wouldn't have been that strict unless they had to be.
I found this recently, on the Brown & Watson annuals - all of them, but theres a POTA mention some way down - I'd heard John Bolton's name associated with these before but not Oliver Frey.

I googled the word "leuric" just to see what possible derivation it has. I always wonder how the POTA writers came up with various names for their characters, especially if it is a
name currently in use. How might such a name survive the centuries, especially after a nuke war depopulates the world drastically?
Anyway, it seems that the name LEURIC probably stems from Irish stock, since there was a guy named LEURIC CHARLES COBBE who lived from 1859 to 1897 in County Dublin. However, according to a book by James Parker
["The early history of Oxford, 727-1100"], on page 269, in a chapter called DESCRIPTION OF OXFORD IN DOMESDAY SURVEY, it says that: "... the name Leuric is found very frequently as a tenant in King
Eadward's time, and occasionally as an undertenant in William's time." Parker goes on to mention that the name Leuric also had the form "Wluric... written generally Vluric" -- the "V"
being pronounced like a "U" or "W" of course.
I couldn't find any Latin-based names similar at all to "Leuric" and, given the presence of the name in the Domesday Book, we should probably expect it to be of Anglo-Saxon derivation. Of course, if the
name Leuric is actually of Irish derivation, then it could be that the persons carrying that name in the Domesday survey were of Irish stock, living in Oxford.
Just for giggles, I looked in my Liddell & Scott GREEK-ENGLISH LEXICON and found this curious word: "leuros, -a, -on" which is derived from Gk. "leios" [related to Latin "levis"], meaning
"smooth, level, even; polished."
Now, I don't know what the writers of "UP ABOVE..." [Arthur Browne Jr. and Shimon Bar-David] were thinking when they came up with the obscure name "Leuric" for their intrepid glider-maker. But
you'll recall that in that episode our Fugitives save him from certain disaster by positioning a polished rock that had been formed from a lightning strike so as to focus sunlight on Leuric's glider, destroying
it with a fire.
So... Leuric's glider is destroyed when a "polished" [Gk. "leur-"] glassy-rock sets it afire, that rock being now a polished lens.
Oh, it's probably just a coincidence, but it wouldn't surprise me if one or both of the co-writers was working in a pun.
Patrick

James!), and they say other fans have warned them about me. It's just completely ridiculous, and very unprofessional. Makes us look like school kids.
I think all the fanzines should promote each other equally, and promote the groups and other aspects of fandom (websites, publications etc) equally too.
Would be a nice gesture if you and Dave rejoin the DG too John. I think the standards of SS have slipped, but that's just my humble opinion. But I still read Neil's copy and if I like it I'll but one.
Nothing personal intended. And I should be able to state an opinion as I'd welcome hearing feedback from you about the DG or the forthcoming fanzine.
James probably time for us to grow up and stop competing too. It's not healthy.

Not with POTA.
James is so scared of a challenge he hasn't even allowed my post to go through on his group.
Some things never change.
Sadly, for some people it is all about promoting THEMSELVES, and being able to make claims (like James says Battle was cut to get more showings in a given day) with no evidence and get away with it.
Pathetic.
That's why POTA fandom will always be slipping backwards.

Once again, it's interesting to see where
Fox's head is at with their sci-fi reboots ("Emasculation to begin with...").
"Caesar" is still in the ether but here's Robert Rodriguez talking about the
free hand Fox is giving him to start fresh with the "Predator" franchise.
Rodriguez is one of the more innovative movie talents around ("Sin
City", etc.). He says they want to get as far away from "Alien vs. Predator" as
they can, realizing that was a mistake. This plus bringing back Ridley Scott for
the new "Alien"...is Fox "getting it"? Have they really turned a
corner?

I'm in complete agreement our numbers are slowly falling unfortunatly some people feel they need to die with age ( inconsiderate!!! )
however yes we should unite lifes to short to be battling against each other's website, comic, discussion group whatever.
And if we want a common enemy to prod and take the piss out of how about star wars or star trek to name a few.
No really why take the piss out of anyones personal prefrence of movies.
We have people out there who dont understand about how we can like pota like we do.
Peace and love to all , there's enough problems in the world without having to add to it.
Korea???, Afganistan????, Iraq???, Recession???, ( God the list is never ending )
Kiss and make up ?

Thanks for your email! My company, BLAM! Ventures,
LLC, is a multimedia company specializing in the comic book/graphic novel
industry and digital media. Our ‘Lost Tribes’ imprint looks to
revive many classic science fiction and fantasy movies and television shows of
the '60s, '70s and '80s with a fresh approach and a reverent hand, touching the
audiences of today's generation, while reacquainting previous fans with old
friends.
BLAM!'s first Planet of
the Apes project, officially licensed by FOX Broadcasting,
isn't a comic book but is an over-sized illustrated novel titled Conspiracy of the Planet of the Apes.
It's story set during the first movie and centers on the Astronaut Landon and
Chimpanzee scientist Dr. Milo. The novel is written by me with my two creative
partners, contains over 20 full color "paintings" (digital and
traditional) from various top talent in the industry and will be in all the
bookstores in the Spring of 2010.
While the first draft has been approved by FOX, we are still
working out some details. Therefore, this project is still confidential
and we have not yet made an official press release. (Feel free to drop hints to others that there is
a "project" in the works though.)
We will be making the official announcement just prior to San Diego Comic Con
and will be displaying art from the book there.
I would love to become a member of your discussion board,
and would like to talk to you about increasing POTA's web presence in
general. Perhaps you or a member of your group would be interested in
facilitating the uniting of message boards and creation of resource web sites
in order to beef up POTA's internet appeal. Feel free to email me or
contact me at the number below.
I look forward to hearing from you.

Personaly, I'm getting tired of hearing about every minute detail about Jackson but I was wondering about this....
Jackson's chimp living the good life in SWFL Bubbles was once a celebrity himself
BY E.I. ROTTERSMAN news@...
| | GETTY IMAGES BY GAB ARCHIVE/REDFERNS Michael Jackson with Bubbles in 1984. |
|
Bubbles,
the chimpanzee who was Michael Jackson's constant companion for years,
has been living at the Center for Great Apes, a sanctuary for
chimpanzees and orangutans in Wauchula, about 70 miles north of Fort
Myers, since 2005.
"He's a wonderful chimpanzee," said Patti Ragan, founder and director of the ape center.
Ms. Ragan said the 26-year-old chimp spends his days playing with
fellow chimpanzees, running around the center's tunnel system and,
well, just being Bubbles.
"We have lots of celebrities here," Ragan said. "We treat them all the same. We try to keep their lives as rich as we can."
Bubbles was born at a biomedical research facility in Austin, Texas, in
1983. While still an infant, he was purchased for Mr. Jackson by animal
trainer Bob Dunn, center officials said.
The chimp reportedly lived with the pop star at his Neverland compound,
sat in on the recording of the "Bad" album and accompanied Mr. Jackson
on the "Bad" world tour in 1988.
| | COURTESY PHOTO Knuckles, 11, arrived at the center nine years ago from an entertainment compound in California. |
|
However,
the singer's relationship with Bubbles was mocked in the press and
became the first in a series of bizarre, eccentric behaviors that
followed the pop icon the rest of his career.
When Bubbles grew too large, he was removed to Mr. Dunn's California
compound. In 2005, Mr. Dunn retired from the business of working
chimpanzees and orangutans and sent all his apes, including Bubbles, to
the Center for Great Apes.
Mr. Jackson never visited Bubbles in Florida, center officials said.
There is also a question of whether Mr. Jackson's estate will provide
funds for Bubbles' care.
The only funds the Center receives is through private donations, Ms.
Ragan said. Anyone wishing to support Bubbles or any of the other
chimpanzees or apes can contribute through its Web site
www.greatapecenter.org.
"We're greatful for any support," she said.
The Center for Great Apes houses 42 chimpanzees and orangutans on 120
rural acres. They roam the grounds through an aboveground tunnel system
that links roomy enclosures.
Most of the apes, primates without tails, came to the 15-year-old
sanctuary with stories that are as rich as Bubbles'. There's Sammy, who
played the title role in "Dunston Checks In," a 1996 film starring
Jason Alexander and Faye Dunaway. The Career Builder chimps and Trunk
Monkey stars also call the center home, along with apes from circus
acts, roadside zoos and private homes.
There's even a chimp with disabilities. Knuckles, now 8 years old, was
born with cerebral palsy and came to the Wauchula sanctuary after being
deemed not useable in the entertainment business.
Most of the primates come to the Center for Great Apes with social
problems caused by being too "humanized" or swiped too early from their
mothers. Others are the product of misguided owners who thought it
would be fun to have a pet chimp, not figuring they would eventually
grow up.
Such is the plight of most of the primates at the Center For Great
Apes. And at the center of these apes' lives is Ms. Ragan, the director
and founder of the sanctuary.
Petite and soft-spoken, Ms. Ragan is as much a giant to her 42 primate
charges as they are to her. With a wide grin, she rattles off the names
and personalities of each of the apes.
Ms. Ragan has the blessing and continual support of world-renowned
primatologist Jane Goodall. And she has a dedicated staff of about 16
and a devoted corps of volunteers, including Sue DuPre, who plays a
recorder and blows bubbles for the apes, and her 80-yearold father,
Miller Ekas. The North Fort Myers man is a gentle soul who coos to the
apes as he fixes things around the sanctuary.
"I just love the animals," Mr. Ekas told
Florida Weekly in November. "They all have a sense of humor."
Ms. Ragan has her life savings and her heart invested in helping apes
that would have no other place to go but biomedical labs, where they
would be subjected to research, or roadside shows. She gives them what
she calls dignified retirement and lives.
Despite the fact that it costs $600,000 a year — $15,000 per ape — Ms.
Ragan pushes on, working to secure money for the sanctuary.
Though her main goal is to provide a permanent home to ape rescues and
retirees, she also hopes to make society aware of the need to not
support apes in the entertainment business or as pets.
As young apes, they might look cute and funny in shows and movies and
even in your living room, but they grow up to weigh more than 200
pounds.
Aside from the need for homes for displaced apes, many of the world's
primates are being lost to corrupt governments and loss of habitats,
Ms. Ragan says, adding, "We're all on this planet together."
Center for Great Apes >>The center is on 120 acres in Wauchula, north of Tampa. >>The sanctuary cares for 14 orangutans and 28 chimpanzees.
>>The outside habitats are three stories tall (about 35 feet) and all 12 enclosures are connected to each other, as well as to the vet
clinic, by a tunnel/chute system that is more than 4,000 feet long. >> As a private nonprofit sanctuary, the
Center for Great Apes' priority is maintaining a safe haven and peaceful habitat for the apes. Therefore, the sanctuary is not open to
the public as an attraction. >>For more information or to make a donation, go to

Sure, Michael. What an imagination you have!
A new POTA book >wink! wink!<.
No, that sounds great. They really seem to
know what they're talking about. Landon and Milo? That could be interesting.
That could go a long way to explaining how Milo had all that time to find the
ship, etc. All 5 of us will enjoy it.

Thanks to Rich's detective work, I was able to get in touch with a guy who worked at the Newcastle City Hall when the Apes UK live show performed there (December '75-January
'76). I've added the few memories he shared to the wiki page, but here's what he had to say:
"We had a resident Circus, starring Planet of the Apes, at the City Hall. I had no particular involvement other than turning the houselights on and off for a few of the shows. There were perhaps half a dozen [Apes]
and they basically ran round the auditorium miming to a show tape that we put on and played through the house PA (reel to reel 1/4inch tape, no less). From memory they were on late in the second half for about ten
minutes before the Circus Finale. I don't recall a synopsis, but that doesn't mean there wasn't one.
I remember the masks and costumes were very authentic. For one show, the apes went on strike and refused to appear. The first I knew of it was the Ringmaster announcing that due to circumstances beyond their control,
Planet of the Apes were unable to appear. Curious, I went backstage and found them sitting in the understage band room, in costume, looking miserable. They said that they hadn't been paid, they had been promised and
let down too many times and they were fed up. It must have got sorted out pretty quickly as they did the next show, or possibly it was a Saturday and they did the evening one.
One key thing that happened though, was that the manager's son (who was the City Hall lighting man) eloped with the high wire act - resulting in my promotion to House Electrician!"
Wonder if those tapes are still in someones basement/attic/garage... <.html

Everyone knows this is because you have

Not even your most staunch defender can

There's already been comic book attempts
that haven't done well but it's been a while since a book. It doesn't sound like
a standard paperback but some franchises have had new life from paperback books.
That might work with the older fans while the comic book crowd wants
"Transformers", whatever.

Well, Ive hung on
to this for a long time now and Andrew did say its out of the bag now (at
San Diego Comic Con) so here you go.
This sounds
VERY exciting to me and sounds like Andrew DOES know a thing or two about
POTA.

Thanks for your email! My
company, BLAM! Ventures, LLC, is a multimedia company specializing in the
comic book/graphic novel industry and digital media. Our Lost Tribes
imprint looks to revive many classic science fiction and fantasy movies and
television shows of the '60s, '70s and '80s with a fresh approach and a
reverent hand, touching the audiences of today's generation, while
reacquainting previous fans with old
friends.
BLAM!'s first Planet of the Apes project,
officially licensed by FOX Broadcasting, isn't a comic book but is an
over-sized illustrated novel titled Conspiracy of the Planet of the
Apes. It's story set during the first movie and centers on
the Astronaut Landon and Chimpanzee scientist Dr. Milo. The novel is written
by me with my two creative partners, contains over 20 full color "paintings"
(digital and traditional) from various top talent in the industry and will
be in all the bookstores in the Spring of
2010.
While the first draft has
been approved by FOX, we are still working out some details.
Therefore, this project is still confidential and we have not yet made an
official press release. (Feel free to drop hints to others that there is a "project" in the works
though.) We will be making the official announcement just prior to San
Diego Comic Con and will be displaying art from the book
there.
I would love to become a
member of your discussion board, and would like to talk to you about
increasing POTA's web presence in general. Perhaps you or a member of
your group would be interested in facilitating the uniting of message boards
and creation of resource web sites in order to beef up POTA's internet
appeal. Feel free to email me or contact me at the number

I remember in the late '80's you couldn't be
more "out" than "Star Wars" was and then they put out a series of paper back
books ("Heir to the Empire" or something) and it started the "Star Wars"
renaissance of the '90's. Lot of room to try interesting ideas in a book and
sometimes interesting ideas hook people.

No, that sounds great. They
really seem to know what they're talking about. Landon and Milo ?
That could be interesting. That could go a long way to explaining how

His name is Ian Grey and he writes a blog about his life. I haven't read much beyond his mention of POTA, but he seems to have been very involved in backstage theatre work in the
mid-70s. He was still in school at the time, I don't know if he made a career out of it.

Well it is a GRAPHIC novel too and supposedly includes illustrations by some big comic book artists, so that could give it dual appeal.

I've met Drew, and he's a great guy who has a lot of enthusiasm for
this project, and for the Apes universe in general. What he has in
mind for Planet of the Apes sounds like it's going to be fantastic,
and I'm very much looking forward to reading it.

>There's already been comic book attempts that haven't done well but

Historically, Planet of the Apes comics have actually done pretty
well, despite not lasting that long. According to Doug Moench, the
Marvel run was still showing strong sales as of issue 29 but his
editor dropped the title because Fox had upped the licensing fees so
high that it was no longer worth it to keep publishing--to my
surprise, when I interviewed him, he was adamant that the cancelation
wasn't due to low sales. In fact, he and the editor had another 30
issues planned out, believe it or not. And the Malibu line, once you
add up the monthly series and the various miniseries, ran for about
60 issues, which is a pretty good run. According to Charles Marshall
and Tom Mason, that series sold well also--the reason it ended, Mason
told me, was that Malibu was having financial problems unrelated to
its POTA line, and that the company, therefore, decided to cut a lot
of its properties out of desperation. I don't know Mr. Comics'
numbers, but from I recall (and Ty, feel free to correct me on this),
the problem he faced with Revolution on the POTA was the publisher's
lack of marketing. A lot of people simply didn't know the series
existed. Given all this, I actually think a new series of POTA books
or comics could be quite popular--if the company publishing them
knows how to market it. Enough years have passed since the 2001
fiasco that people might be open to it now, especially if the word of
mouth is good and the profile is high enough.

Exactly. Before Heir to the Empire and the comic miniseries Dark
Empire, Star Wars was completely off the radar. Between those two
titles, Lucasfilm suddenly was able to wallpaper his house in
hundred-dollar bills again.

Here's what happened: As Neil mentioned, I did a bit of detective
work and found a guy named Ian Gray, who worked on the UK show for a
while. Unfortunately, my attempts to contact him kept failing since
I couldn't log into his blog, despite having a working WordPress
account. Very odd--and very frustrating. So when Neil heard that I
was attempting to track down info about that show (as was he), he
contacted me and told me what he knew about it so far. I told him
about Gray, suggesting he give it a try since technical issues were
preventing me from getting through. Luckily, WordPress doesn't seem
to hate Neil, like it does me, and he succeeded in reaching Gray. So
far, this is the only lead I've been able to find, but the fact that
I found it leads me to believe there must be others as well who could
shed some light on the subject.

Without getting involved one way or the other in the debate over
inflated numbers, I will say that despite my recent thread regarding
dwindling numbers among Apes fans, I'm still selling copies of the
timeline book on a daily basis, eight months after it first came out,
and I still receive e-mails about it on a pretty steady basis as
well. So the total fandom numbers for POTA might be higher than
people think. If there ARE only 100 die-hard fans out there, then
I'm very grateful to them, because they've apparently each purchased
numerous copies of my book. :)

Well, I've hung on to
this for a long time now and Andrew did say it's out of the bag now (at San
Diego Comic Con) so here you go.
This sounds VERY
exciting to me and sounds like Andrew DOES know a thing or two about
POTA.

Thanks for your email! My
company, BLAM! Ventures, LLC, is a multimedia company specializing in the
comic book/graphic novel industry and digital media. Our 'Lost Tribes' imprint
looks to revive many classic science fiction and fantasy movies and television
shows of the '60s, '70s and '80s with a fresh approach and a reverent hand,
touching the audiences of today's generation, while reacquainting previous
fans with old friends.
(digital and traditional) from various top talent in the industry and will be
in all the bookstores in the Spring of 2010.
While the first draft has been
approved by FOX, we are still working out some details. Therefore, this
project is still confidential and we have not yet made an official press
release. (Feel free to drop hints to others that there is a "project" in the works
though.) We will be making the official announcement just prior to San
Diego Comic Con and will be displaying art from the book
there.
I would love to become a member of
your discussion board, and would like to talk to you about increasing POTA's
web presence in general. Perhaps you or a member of your group would be
interested in facilitating the uniting of message boards and creation of
resource web sites in order to beef up POTA's internet appeal. Feel free
to email me or contact me at the number below.
I look forward to hearing from
you.

I'd like to see the rest of these. Seem very French. ;) Some were really
cool & some just looked like doodles from a sketch book.
Strange.

Technically it's
not a graphic novel. From what I've heard its a short novel with
illustrations. A graphic novel is a very, very long comic
book.
Neil T. Foster
Well it is a GRAPHIC novel too and supposedly includes illustrations by
some big comic book artists, so that could give it dual
appeal.

I have been cleaning up my computer and came across

I am poor in coffers but rich in spirit, and just very very lucky when it comes to Planet of the Apes. If the foam latex appliances were unaffordable, I would have been sculpting and baking my own foam latex. I
don't think they are making them from scratch, and again, I am lucky in that sense which made them affordable.
If I could afford it, I would buy everything Apemania and hire someone to make my wig...but since I am just a trained monkey juggling other people's balls, I only earn just a smattering of chimpchange. I
have champagne tastes on a tap water budget, if you can call it a budget.

Funny about Star
Wars. I guess I was mostly over POTA by the time it came out but I did wag
school with a good mate to see it's first showing at a cinema in Manchester and
remember being totally blown away by it. Then I went a bit Star Wars
mental but it never ended up becoming 'another Planet of the Apes'. I
eventually 'came back' to POTA but have never had any long running interest in
Star Wars.
My kids though
would take ANY Star Wars movie over any Apes one. It's a crazy
old world!

I agree. let's declare war on the stormtroopers! !! Let us wipe out
Star Wars!!!!

Rich when you say
complete is that just the DVDs or is it also EVERY Star Trek comic as well?
If so that would be a huge amount of comics wouldn't
it?

He's not
consistent, that's how I feel about his stuff in this book
as well. Like John said, some of them just look like sketches or
doodles. I wonder if that was deliberate? I can't think of any reason why
it wouldn't be.

I hope Pecnard didn't cost them much. His work isn't very dynamic or
consistent.
