I recently commissioned an illustration of Vincent Price and Alice Cooper from Paul. The results were fantastic, and the transaction and delivery could not have been better. If you're interested, you can reach Paul from his various sites, all of which are linked on his page.

Rob Amantea sent in some photos of a unique project that never happened. In the mid-2000s, Rittenhouse planned a third series of Planet of the Apes trading cards. They intended to include a Costume Relic Card that would feature pieces of a screen-worn gorilla costume. They bought the costume from a prop auction in 2004, but the plans were abandoned, and the costume was not destroyed. Rob Amantea acquired the costume in 2024.

Brian Brady submitted an article about Cornelius and Planet of the Apes that was published in the 2015 magazine The 50 Greatest Sci-Fi Icons, from the publishers of Sci-Fi Now magazine.

You can see Lance's photos on the exhibit page.

Another exhibit page is dedicated to the Zaius figure at MoPOP, the Museum of Pop Culture in Seattle.

I recently learned that Apemania's Brian Penikas created that Zaius figure, and that the hands for the figure were taken from casts of Booth Colman's hands! Mr. Colman, of course, played Councillor Zaius in the Planet of the Apes TV series. The page has been updated to include photos of the figure from Brian, including a photo of the casting session with Mr. Colman!

I've uploaded many Planet of the Apes-related videos to my YouTube channel.

One video that was blocked on copyright grounds was the Planet of the Apes episode of That's Hollywood, narrated by Tom Bosley. Interestingly enough, the copyright problems were caused by the short scenes from the films. So I've put the episode here for your viewing pleasure.

Watch That's Hollywood

Thanks to the fan who shared this with me over twenty years ago!

Another video that was blocked is the opening of the Charlon Heston-hosted Saturday Night Live from December 4, 1993. The episode opened with Heston falling asleep before the show, only to awaken and discover that he's on a planet of apes!

If you've ever wanted to listen to me ramble about Planet of the Apes for almost two hours, here's your chance! Yesterday, I was a guest on the Transatlantic History Ramblings podcast, with host Brian Young. We talked about the entire Apes franchise, and it's amazing how little ground you can cover in only two hours. Still, if you're a glutton for punishment, you might want to check it out.

The interview starts at the 35:30 mark.

"All of our episodes are listed as explicit due to language and some topics, such as historical crime, that may not be suitable for all listeners."

The final episode is basically Castaway x3 of them, surviving 600 miles of wilderness along the Siskiyou Trail, with several maps in-text.
