After all of these years, I have finally added all twenty-nine issues
of the U.S. Marvel Planet of the Apes magazines from the 1970s. Thanks to
Estil for the files, though I have no idea from the where the scans actually
originated.
All twenty-nine issues of the Marvel mags can be
downloaded from the Marvel Planet of the Apes
page in both CBZ and PDF formats.
27-AUG-2016 Update: There was a problem with the PDF file for issue 13
in that it would display as blank pages. I have replaced the PDF file with one
that works correctly. My apologies for any inconvenience.

Happy International Planet of the Apes Day!
Today seems like the perfect day to announce a new feature on my site. Back in
1998, Fox created a Planet of the Apes website to promote the 30th Anniversary
release of the movies on VHS. They took the site down a year or so later, but
not before I saved it all. Now you can revisit the site in all of its
1998-HTML-and-Quicktime glory! It's a subsite of my Apes site (in addition to
the link below, you can find the link in the "Subsites" menu at the top of the
pages), and it's all exactly as it was in 1998.
There are timelines for the series and each movie, augmented by video clips.
Enjoy!
Enter the Fox 30th Anniversary Apes subsite!

El Planeta de los Monos from both 1977 and 1979 are now available.
This time, the files have been made available as CBZ files instead of PDFs. CBZ
files are Zip files containing JPEG images. There are numerous CBZ/CBR readers
out there for computers, tablets, and phones. For Windows systems, I recommend
CDisplayEx.
You can find the covers and the download links on the
El Planeta de los Monos page.

When this site was first launched back in 2003, few people had high-speed
Internet access, so most of the PDFs on the site were split into multiple parts
to ease downloading. Now that it's 10 years later and few people are still
using modems, I've finally gotten around to assembling the
multi-part PDFs into single PDFs. This affects the PDFs on the Scripts, Power Records,
and Marvel UK Comics pages. I've also increased
the size of the thumbnails on the Marvel UK Comics
page, as well as added the ability to click on the cover thumbnails to view
larger versions of the covers,

I'm trying an experiment. I've added a discussion forum to the site.
Why? There are plenty of other discussion groups and Facebook pages, not
to mention the Yahoo! groups. However, the recent Yahoo! redesign has made
using their groups annoying. On top of that, I've decided that it would be nice
to know what visitors think of the site or the materials available here.
So I'm going to try the forum. We'll see how it comes to life, or if I pull the
plug on it eventually. I hope it proves useful!
You can find the forum here.

Dario Sciola sent this "Go Ape!" poster for an
Ape-o-thon on Ottawa. The theater owner had an artist take a hi-res
image of the "Go Ape!" poster and edit it to include the theater logo
and showing dates. That high-res result is available for
downloading—note that it's a 6MB file, so it'll take a while to download,
but the resulting image is suitable for poster-size printing, if you know a
local printer capable of printing such an image. Thanks Dario (and to the
theater owner who gave him permission to share the file)!
